13.5.2.1 Unit Members with sixty (60) or more accumulated regular sick leave days will be granted forty (40) sick leave days at half pay.
13.5.2.2 Unit Members with fifty-nine (59) or fewer accumulated regular sick leave days will be granted enough sick leave days at half pay to equal one hundred (100) days.
Supplemental Sick Leave. There shall be a Sick Leave Committee, consisting of one (1) member designated by the Association, one (1) administrator appointed by the Superintendent, and the School Medical Director, who shall be an advisory member. Xxxx Xxxx Leave Committee shall review and act upon applications for additional sick leave days submitted by members of the Unit.
1. The sick leave bank will be funded by the mandatory donation of one (1) sick day per year by all Xxxx 0 members who have more than one (1) year of service. All Unit members shall be eligible to receive days from the sick leave bank. Xxxx donated to the sick leave bank do not expire. Each Unit 7 member shall be eligible to apply for and be granted a maximum of sixty (60) days per illness, subject to the limitation in paragraph 3 below. Any member wishing to apply to the sick leave bank would begin the process by sending a request for supplemental sick leave to the Superintendent or Designee. The Superintendent or Designee shall immediately thereafter forward an agreed upon form to the member that asks for specific medical and financial information and provide complete and comprehensive instructions on completing the form and continuing the request process. Upon receipt of the necessary forms, the Superintendent or Designee will immediately thereafter schedule a meeting of the Sick Leave Committee to review and evaluate the member’s request. Supplemental Sick Leave. In each academic year, if a faculty member has utilized all individual accumulated sick leave and is still absent from duty on account of illness or accident for a period of five (5) school months or less, the faculty member shall receive 50% of pay for time missed. For accounting purposes, any time used in one day shall be counted as one full day of supplemental sick leave. The five (5) months or less period during which the above leave is calculated includes all other paid sick leave provisions for which the faculty member is eligible (Education Code Section 87780).
Supplemental Sick Leave. 7.01 The purpose of supplemental sick leave is to ensure that a teacher, who is returning to work from a prolonged absence due to accident or illness, has access to a reasonable amount of income protection. The supplemental sick leave is not intended to extend the waiting period for the teacher’s long term disability plan.
7.02 A teacher who has 85 days sick leave accrued, may earn up to 20 days of supplemental sick leave, at an accrual rate of 2 days, for each full month of employment beyond when their sick time accrual was 85 days. A teacher shall not earn more than 20 days of sick time and/or supplemental sick time in any one school year.
7.03 Teachers employed on a part time basis, who have a contract (form 2 or form 2a) with the Division, shall accrue supplemental sick time pro-rated, based on full time equivalents.
7.04 Supplemental sick leave shall only be used to replenish a portion of a teacher’s sick time, upon their return to work from a sick leave. Supplemental sick leave can not be used in combination with sick leave for any one absence from work due to accident or illness, or any subsequent absence for the same, or related, accident or illness. Supplemental sick leave may not be used to extend, or bridge, the waiting period of the teacher’s long term disability plan.
Supplemental Sick Leave. In addition to regular sick leave, noncumulative sick days at half pay will be granted to all Unit Members. At the beginning of each fiscal year, the full amount of supplemental sick leave earned under this section shall be credited to each Unit Member.
15.1.2.1 Unit Members with fewer than twelve (12) accumulated regular sick days will be granted enough sick leave days at half pay to equal one hundred (100) days.
15.1.2.2 Unit Members with twelve (12) or more accumulated regular sick days will be granted eighty- eight (88) sick leave days at half pay.
15.1.2.3 No supplemental sick leave days at half-pay will be allowed until a Unit Member has exhausted all regular sick leave days to which the Unit Member is entitled. The Unit Member may elect to augment supplemental sick leave with any compensatory time to which the Unit Member is entitled, in order to provide a full day’s salary. Upon exhaustion of all compensatory time, or if the Unit Member does not have any accrued compensatory time, the Unit Member may use earned vacation in conjunction with supplemental sick leave in order to receive a full day’s salary.
Supplemental Sick Leave. In accordance with Education Code section 45196, the employee shall be credited with sufficient additional sick leave which, when added to regular earned sick leave, shall not be less than one hundred (100) working days. Such additional sick leave shall be exclusive of any other paid leave and will be compensated at not less than fifty (50) percent of the employee’s salary.
11.1.8.1 Total full pay and supplemental sick leave shall not exceed one hundred working days in any one fiscal year or for any one illness. No full pay or supplemental sick leave payments shall be made during the period of the school year in which the employee would not normally be employed.

Supplemental Sick Leave. Each full-time or part-time employee will accrue 4.255 hours (.0575 per hour) of Supplemental Sick Leave (SSL) for every 74 hours in active pay status (work, sick, vacation, personal and compensation leave) up to a maximum of 962 hours. SSL may only be used for the employee’s own illness or injury and FMLA eligible dependent child. Unlike ordinary sick leave, SSL is not eligible to be converted to a cash payment upon retirement. Employees may be required to provide doctor’s statements to justify the use of SSL.
Supplemental Sick Leave. When a permanent employee is absent from duty on account of illness or accident for a period of five (5) months or less, whether or not the absence arises out of or in the course of employment, the employee shall be credited with sufficient additional sick leave which, when added to regular earned sick leave, shall not be less than one hundred (100) working days. Such additional sick leave shall be exclusive of any other paid leave and will be compensated at not less than fifty (50) percent of the employee's regular salary. The five-month period shall commence on the first day of illness or accident for classified employees. (Education Code 88191, 88196)
12.5.1 Total full pay and supplemental sick leave shall not exceed one hundred (100) working days in any one fiscal year or for any one illness. No full pay or supplemental sick leave payments shall be made during the period of the college year in which the employee would not normally be employed. Employees who are on a supplemental sick leave basis shall not be entitled to the sick leave, holiday, or vacation benefits granted permanent employees.
12.5.2 Supplemental sick leave is payable only upon medical verification any only for absence of five (5) or more consecutive days.
Supplemental Sick Leave. 11.7.1 Supplemental sick leave is an additional type of sick leave intended as an added protection for full-time employees who may become seriously ill or disabled. It is intended for catastrophic injuries or illness or severe medical problems, which require hospitalization or extensive medical care. Supplemental sick leave differs from ordinary sick leave in that the employee must be authorized to use this supplemental sick leave by the formal action and approval of the Board of Education on recommendation of the Superintendent.
11.7.2 Supplemental sick leave will not be allowed to be used until all accumulated ordinary sick leave has been used and there exists a serious illness or disability on the part of the employee that prevents the employee from performing his/her duties for a period of five (5) or more consecutive school days. Employees who wish to apply for supplemental sick leave must make the request to the Superintendent in writing and the request must be accompanied by a signed statement from a licensed physician, which documents the nature and extent of the illness or disability. If the Board of Education deems it necessary or desirable to obtain additional medical testimony or documentation, they may require a second opinion from a physician at the Board’s expense.
11.7.3 All full-time employees, upon completing two (2) years of employment, and for each year of service, will be granted ten (10) days of supplemental sick leave. If the full amount of annual supplemental sick leave thus allowed is not used, the unused amount shall accumulate to a maximum available supplement sick leave of ninety (90) days at full pay. If any or all of the supplemental sick leave is used, it will again be allowed to continue to accumulate to the ninety (90) days maximum. (This subsection shall in no way affect the number of days any employee may have accumulated prior to the effective date of the Agreement.) Employees who have used all of their accumulated sick leave and their supplemental sick leave would be eligible to make application for a leave of absence in accordance with Article XI, Section 11.5.
Supplemental Sick Leave. The Agency will provide the employee health benefits coverage for an additional month upon termination under this section. Employees shall be recalled in accordance with Section 18.6 of this Article, only if the Agency receives a full doctor's release stating clearly in writing that the physical and/or mental problems have been corrected to the point where the employee is fully capable of performing the regular duties of the job. The recall provisions set forth above will apply as if the employee had been laid off as of the date the supplemental sick leave benefits ended.
