FACULTY ASSOCIATION LEAVE. Leave with pay may be granted to 1-3 members of the Faculty Association to attend a state, regional, or national meeting, related to the business of the Association, at no additional travel or per diem expenses to the college. This leave is limited to 3 days total per academic year. It can be granted to one member for 3 days or distributed among 3 members for 1 day, or any combination thereof. This leave may be granted when it has been determined by the appropriate Vice President or Xxxx that coverage can be provided by current faculty absorbing the duties of those using this leave, or in the event that is not possible and a suitable substitute can be identified, by hiring a replacement.

FACULTY ASSOCIATION LEAVE. (a) To facilitate the operation of the Collective Agreement and Employer/Faculty relationships, the Association will be provided quarter-time leave of absences without loss of pay for one of its members in two semesters each year. Additional leaves of absence shall be at replacement cost. (b) The Employer agrees that, while the granting of leave in excess of half-time for any one individual is subject to the Employer's educational requirements, approval shall not be unreasonably withheld. (c) The request for all such leaves shall be made by the Association in writing to the appropriate administrator responsible and the Director, Human Resources by May 15 for Fall leaves and November 1 for Spring leaves. (d) A faculty member selected for a full-time position in the College-Institute Educators' Association of B.C. or in any successor organization to C-IEA shall be granted full-time leave of absence subject to the following conditions: (i) As soon as possible in advance of the leave, the Association shall notify the Employer of the possibility of this clause being invoked. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Association shall provide the Employer with written notice by June 1 for Fall leaves and November 1 for Spring leaves; (ii) A faculty member on leave under this clause shall continue to receive full salary and the benefits from the Employer. The Association shall, on a monthly basis, reimburse the Employer for the full amount of the faculty members member's salary and benefits. Reimbursement will be effected by the Employer directly deducting the full amount of the faculty member's salary and benefits from the Association member dues on a monthly basis. In the event the membership dues are not enough to cover the faculty member's monthly salary and benefits, the Association will remit the outstanding balance on a monthly basis. (e) Meetings between representative of the Association and the Employer shall be held at times mutually agreeable to the parties. Every effort shall be made to hold such meetings at times that do not conflict with the teaching or duty schedules of the faculty members involved. FACULTY ASSOCIATION LEAVE. To facilitate the operation of the Collective Agreement and relationships, the Association will be provided the total equivalent of one quarter-time leave of absence per annum without loss of pay or other entitlement for one of its members. The union may designate a person who will be entitled to union leave under this Article and will advise the employer of the amount of the leave to be taken. to March Page the individual who is carrying out the duties of the individual released. Such leaves will not be unreasonably withheld. Where such leave is granted, the employer will replace the employee as necessary. Costs arising from this provision will not be charged against the program area of the participating union representative.

  • Association Leaves 1. The Board will provide the Association President or their designee with forty (40) days of paid release time during the course of the school year in order to conduct Association Business. The Association shall reimburse the Board for the cost of any substitute required as the result of any such released time which exceeds forty (40) days during the course of the school year. 2. The following provisions were not bargained and have been included for informational purposes only: a. Because of the many responsibilities imposed on the President of the Association, and in order to enhance the quality of instruction in the classes taught by him or her and maintain continuity, the Board will provide the building to which the President is assigned with a full-time aide who is also a certified substitute teacher. b. The building principal and the President will work out a mutually agreed upon schedule for the use of the aide. c. The presence of this aide will not be used to justify absences in excess of those authorized by the terms of this Agreement.

  • Association Leave The Association shall be allowed to use up to 5 days of leave each school year for use by teachers who are officers or agents of the Association. The Association shall reimburse Unified School District 434 for the loss of use of the teacher taking such leave by paying the daily cost of a substitute teacher. The Association shall notify the Superintendent not less than 5 calendar days in advance of using such leave.

  • Education Leave If required by the Hospital, an employee shall be entitled to leave of absence with pay and without loss of seniority and benefits to write examinations to upgrade his or her employment qualifications. Where employees are required by the Hospital to take courses to upgrade or acquire new employment qualifications, the Hospital shall pay the full costs associated with the courses. Subject to operational requirements, the Hospital will make every reasonable effort to grant requests for necessary changes to an employee's schedule to enable attendance at a recognized up-grading course or seminar related to employment with the Hospital."

  • Employment Relations Education Leave Employment Relations Education Leave will be allowed in accordance with the Employment Relations Act.

  • Federation Leave A leave of absence for the president and a second position of the Federation shall be granted to any employee covered by this Agreement upon application by the Federation for the purpose of the employee serving as an officer of the Federation. The District shall continue to pay such employee(s) and provide benefits, with the exception of leave benefits, but will be reimbursed by the Federation for the cost of salary and fringe benefits. Upon return from such leaves, an employee shall proceed on the salary schedule as if s/he had been employed with the District each year of the leave. The Federation agrees to consider carefully each request for release time for Federation members. Although leaves for short terms without loss of pay may be granted upon approval by the Office of the Superintendent, the Federation shall reimburse the District for the cost of salaries and fringe benefits.

  • Blood Donation Leave Leave shall be granted to employees to donate blood at an onsite and Appointing Authority endorsed program.

  • Local Union Leave Upon written request, leave of absence without pay shall be granted to employees for Union business in accordance with the following provisions: i) In bargaining units with up to 12 members, no more than one (1) employee shall be on leave at any one time. In bargaining units with 13 or more members, no more than two (2) employees shall be on leave at any one time. ii) The aggregate total number of days of leave, including Provincial Committee Leave, will not exceed sixty-five (65) working days in a calendar year. iii) The Union will give at least four (4) weeks’ written notice where practicable. iv) Replies to request for leaves of absence shall be given within two

  • Professional and Education Leaves (a) Leave of absence with pay or without pay may be granted to employees to attend professional and educational meetings, courses, or other events which may be judged beneficial to the employee's professional development, especially as it relates to her responsibilities with the Employer.

  • Paid Education Leave The Company agrees to pay into a special fund effective January 1st, 2013 and each year thereafter, two thousand ($2,000.00) for the purpose of providing Paid Education Leave.
