Holiday Substitution. An employee and Employer may if mutual agreeable, observe a designated paid holiday on another day. When a day designated as a holiday for an employee is moved to another day under the provisions of Clause or then work performed by an employee on the day:
Holiday Substitution. If a Regular or Temporary Nurse had booked any paid Holiday Leave credits for use on a recognized Holiday where the Nurse ended up working on that recognized Holiday, the Nurse is entitled to reschedule the paid holiday leave credits for use at a later time. This provision is not applicable to a Casual Nurse (except a Casual Nurse while in a Temporary Position).

(c) A seniority employee on sick leave of absence who is released by said employee's doctor to return to work during a Christmas Holiday Period, shall, if otherwise eligible, receive pay for the holidays in the Christmas Holiday Period falling on and after the date the employee notifies the plant of the employee's availability for work and, provided further, that the employee presents satisfactory medical evidence of the employee's availability to work on such day upon the employee's return to work. (d) A seniority employee on a personal leave of absence which expires during a Christmas Holiday Period, shall, if otherwise eligible, receive pay for the holidays in the Christmas Holiday Period which fall (1) on or after the expiration date of such leave or (2) on and after the date the employee notifies the employee's plant of the employee's availability for work, whichever is later. (e) A seniority employee absent without excuse on either the last scheduled working day prior to or the next scheduled working day after a Christmas Holiday Period shall be ineligible for pay for two (2) of the holidays in the Christmas Holiday Period, but shall, if otherwise eligible, receive pay for the remaining holidays in the Christmas Holiday Period. (f) A seniority employee who is temporarily laid off during the fourth work week prior to a week in which one or more of the holidays in the Christmas holiday per...
Holiday Substitution. If an employee works on a holiday the Employer may grant an employee a substitute day off at his regular rate of pay within a period of ninety (90) days subsequent to the holiday concerned. If a substitute day is not granted by the Employer for the holiday when mutually agreed, the Company will pay for the holiday. The Employer will post an availability schedule in all departments by November 15th. The purpose is to give employees an opportunity to request which holiday(s) they prefer to work. The Employer will post the completed work schedule by December 1st for the two weeks including Christmas and New Years. In selecting employees to work on a paid holiday, the Employer shall consider the efficient operation of the business, skill, ability and seniority.

Holiday Substitution. (a) If any of these holidays fall on Sunday, they will be observed on the following Monday. (b) Any of the paid holidays falling on Saturday should be treated for all purposes under this agreement as falling on the preceding Friday, or if mutually agreed upon, a day other than such proceeding Friday may be substituted for the Saturday holiday. All holidays must occur during the year in which they are scheduled. Thus, should the New Year’s holiday fall on Saturday, it will be observed on the following Monday.

  • Sunday Premium Any employee who is required to work at any time on a Sunday shall be paid a Sunday premium in addition to their regular hourly rate of pay in the amount of seventy-five (75¢) cents per hour, for each such hour and portion of an hour worked. Sunday premium pay shall not be added to an employee's hourly rate of pay for the purpose of computing overtime. The provisions of this Article shall not apply to the “in charge” employees referred to in sub-articles 23.03 and 23.04 of this Agreement.

  • HOLIDAYS THAT FALL ON A SATURDAY For those employees assigned to a work week of Monday through Friday, and in the event a legal holiday falls on Saturday, the preceding Friday shall be observed as a holiday; provided, however, that except where the Governor declares that such preceding Friday shall be a legal holiday, each department head shall make provision for the staffing of public offices under his/her jurisdiction on such preceding Friday so that said public offices may serve the public. Those employees who work on a Friday which is observed as a holiday in lieu of a holiday falling on Saturday shall be allowed a day off in lieu thereof as scheduled by the appointing officer in the current fiscal year.

  • Termination prior to a Public Holiday (a) If the Employer terminates the employment of an Employee, the Employer will pay the Employee a day’s ordinary wages for each public holiday prescribed in this Agreement which falls within 10 consecutive calendar days after the date the Employee’s employment is terminated. For clarity, day one is the day after the Employee’s employment was terminated. (b) Where 2 or more of the holidays fall within a 7 day span, such holidays shall be a ‘group’ of holidays. If the first day of the group of holidays falls within 10 consecutive calendar days after the date the Employee’s employment is terminated, the whole group shall be deemed to fall within the 10 consecutive days, and the Employee will be paid a day’s ordinary wages for each such day. For example, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day (or days in lieu thereof) shall be regarded as a group.

  • Public Holiday Work (a) For Employees other than Shiftworkers, double time and a half must be paid for any Public Holiday Work with a minimum payment of four hours. (b) For Shiftworkers, double time and a half (inclusive of their shift loading) must be paid for any Public Holiday Work with a minimum payment of four hours.

  • Holidays Falling on Saturday or Sunday ‌ For an employee whose workweek is from Monday to Friday, and when any of the above-noted holidays falls on a Saturday and is not proclaimed as being observed on some other day, the following Monday shall be deemed to be the holiday for the purpose of this agreement; when a holiday falls on a Sunday and it is not proclaimed as being observed on some other day, the following Monday (or Tuesday, where the preceding section already applies to the Monday), shall be deemed to be the holiday for the purpose of this agreement.

  • Federal Holidays The Employee shall be entitled to federal holidays per calendar year. This is subject to change by the Employer from time to time. If for any reason the Employee should request a Federal Holiday off, the Employer shall determine if the Employee may do so and if it shall be taken from either the Employee’s Personal Leave or Vacation Time. Federal Holidays are determined by the Employer and may change every calendar year.

  • Sunday Employees at the Maine State Prison shall be eligible for a weekend differential of fifty cents ($.50) per hour to the base for shifts beginning between 8:30 p.m. Friday and 8:29 p.m. Sunday.

  • Holiday Scheduling Work assignments for holidays shall be prepared in advance of the holiday and when work is available, employees shall be given an opportunity to request to either work or be off. Such requests shall be granted to the extent possible in keeping with the operating needs of the work unit. When all requests cannot be granted within a classification and within a work unit, they shall be granted on a rotating basis so that each employee’s desires will be met as many times as is possible for each year, subject to Paragraph

  • Holidays on Saturday or Sunday When a holiday falls on a Saturday, the preceding workday not a holiday shall be deemed to be that holiday. When a holiday falls on Sunday, the following workday not a holiday shall be deemed to be that holiday.
