HOURS OF WORK 11. 01 (a) The regular weekly hours for full-time employees shall be seventy-five (75) hours bi-weekly. *(b) Part-time employees shall be regularly scheduled to work not more than forty-five (45) hours bi-weekly.

HOURS OF WORK 11. 01 (a) The workweek shall consist of forty (40) hours, eight (8) hours per day, Monday to Friday inclusive. (b) For the purpose of this Agreement a Saturday or a Sunday or a Holiday shall begin at 7:00 a.m. of that day and end at 7:00 a.m. the day following. 11.02 The day or day shift shall consist of eight (8) consecutive hours between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. (a) If an employee, who has completed his scheduled work week is required for work on Saturday or Sunday, such overtime shall be posted on the preceding Thursday whenever possible. If he is available for the posted overtime work and is unable to commence work for reasons beyond his control, he shall receive four (4) hours pay at the overtime rate provided he remains available for the four (4) hour period if so requested by the Company and accepts alternate work if such work is assigned to him. (b) An employee's scheduled shift may be changed at the Company's request up to noon on the preceding Friday. Afterwards it may be changed at the Company’s request, provided he is paid one and one-half times his regular rate for the first shift worked after the change. When the employee reverts to his original shift, he shall be paid at his regular straight time rate, provided that there is a break of at least eight (8) hours between the shifts worked. 11.04 If an employee who reports for work and/or is available for work and is unable to commence work or is unable to work the full day or shift for reasons beyond his control, he shall be paid a minimum of eight (8) hours. To qualify for the above an employee must remain on the job until told by the Xxxxxxx that he may leave and must accept other than his normal work if it is offered, provided the employee is adequately dressed weather-wise to perform such work. 11.05 Time worked in excess of eight (8) hours per day or shift, all hours worked on Saturday, and all hours worked by an employee outside his scheduled shift, shall be paid for at the rate of time and one-half. All hours worked on Sunday shall be paid for at the rate of double time. 11.06 An employee, who having left the Company premises, is called back for work after completing his day or shift shall be paid time and one- half for the hours worked, but in no case shall he receive less than four (4) hours pay at the straight time rate.
HOURS OF WORK 11. 01 (a) The Company agrees to forty (40) hours, ten (10) hours per day but reserves the right to change the schedule should the need arise. The Company will notify the union of any change 45 days in advance and agrees to discuss the change within 45 days of implementation. The change shall be done by mutual agreement. In the event of an economical need to operate on Friday, the company will provide 4 days advance notice. If the company doesn’t have qualified employees to operate that Friday, the company will force the junior qualified employees. It is further understood that the length of the overtime shift on the Friday will be no longer than 5 hours, and will be starting no earlier than 8 hours after the conclusion of the previous Thursday night shift. And an overtime signup sheet will be posted on the bulletin board for employees to make themselves available. It is finally understood that the employees will not be forced to work on the Fridays between the months of June to August every year. (b) For the purpose of this Agreement, Sunday or a Holiday shall begin at 6:00 a.m. of that day and end at 6:00 a.m. the day following. 11.02 It is understood and agreed that where, within the same trade or job classification, different schedules exist, those employees will rotate through those schedules unless mutually agreed otherwise. On two shift operations, a shift differential of fifty-eight (58) cents per hour shall be paid in addition to the regular rates on the second shift. The Company will increase the Shift Differential from 0-59-61 to 0-65- 70 effective date of ratification and increase to 0-70-85 on September 1st, 2023. The Company agrees to provide the watchman with 3rd shift differential only when working night shift. (a) If an employee, who has completed his scheduled work week is required for work on Saturday or Sunday, such overtime shall be posted on the preceding Thursday whenever possible.   • HOURS OF WORK i) Where employees are now working a longer daily tour, the provisions set out in this Article governing the regular hours of work on a daily tour shall be adjusted accordingly. ii) The normal daily extended tour shall be 11.25 consecutive hours in any 24-hour period, exclusive of a total of forty-five (45) minutes of unpaid meal time. For hybrid schedules, there will be scheduled normal daily tours of seven and one-half (7½) hours and 11.25 consecutive hours per day. iii) Employees working an extended tour shall be entitled, subject to the exigencies of resident care, to paid relief periods during the tour of a total of forty-five (45) minutes. For hybrid schedules, there will also be shifts that provide for relief periods in accordance with Article 15.02. iv) Scheduling issues will be resolved at the local level. v) Where the union and the employer have agreed to or agree to an extended daily tour or hybrid schedule that differs from the normal daily extended tour, the proportion of unpaid time to hours of work shall maintain the same ratio as set out in paragraph ii) and iii) of this Article.

  • HOURS OF WORK & OVERTIME Section 15.1 This Article is intended to define the normal hours of work per day or per week in effect at the time of execution of this Agreement. Nothing contained herein shall be construed as preventing the Employer from restructuring the normal workday or workweek as necessary to promote efficiency or improve services, or from establishing the work schedules of employees. However, nothing in this Section shall relieve the Employer of its duty to bargain the affects of such decisions on employee wages, hours, terms and other conditions of employment. This Article shall be used as the basis for computing overtime for employees who are not exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act and shall not be construed as a guarantee of hours of work per day or per week. Section 15.2 Employees may take one paid fifteen (15) minute break for every four (4) hour block worked. Employees may combine breaks to take up to one (1) sixty (60) minute paid break. Employees may not leave campus on their paid breaks. Section 15.3 Bargaining unit employees who are not exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act will be paid one and one-half times their normal hourly rate for all hours actually worked in excess of forty (40) hours per work week. All overtime shall have prior supervisory approval, except when it is necessary for a nurse to remain on duty to protect patient safety. Only hours actually worked are counted for the purpose of computing an employee's eligibility for overtime pay. There shall be no pyramiding of hours or pay. Section 15.4 The Board serves individuals 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. To meet this need for service to our individuals evening and weekend hours may be required of any bargaining unit employee. The Employer will establish the standard work day as beginning at 6:00 a.m. and ending at 5:59 a.m. and starting and ending times for each shift in each department. Supervisors will establish daily workschedules. Section 15.5 Absent an emergency situation, management will notify the Union in the event management intends to institute a long-term change in the present shift times for nurses. Following notification and upon request by the Union, management will meet with the Union to discuss the reason for the change and possible alternatives.

  • – HOURS OF WORK & SCHEDULING 15.01 The normal hours of work for an employee are not a guarantee of work per day or per week, or a guarantee of days of work per week. The normal hours of work shall be seven and one-half (7½) hours per day, and seventy-five (75) hours in any bi-weekly period. 15.02 The normal daily shift shall consist of seven and one-half (7½) consecutive hours, exclusive of a one-half (½) hour unpaid meal period. Employees shall be entitled to a fifteen (15) minute paid break during each half of the normal daily shift, at a time designated by the Employer. 15.03 Employees required for reporting purposes shall remain at work for a period of up to fifteen (15) minutes which shall be unpaid. Should the reporting time extend beyond fifteen (15) minutes however, the entire period shall be considered overtime for the purposes of payment. 15.04 Requests for change in posted work schedules must be submitted in writing and co-signed by the employee willing to exchange days off or shifts and are subject to the discretion of the Administrator or her designate. In any event, it is understood that such a change initiated by the employee and approved by the Employer shall not result in overtime compensation or payment or any other claims on the Employer by any employee under the terms of this Agreement. 15.05 Where there is a change to Daylight Savings from Standard Time or vice-versa, an employee who is scheduled and works a full shift shall be paid for a seven and one-half (7½) hour shift rather than the actual hours worked. 15.06 In the event that a meal period is interrupted requiring an employee to attend to a work related problem, then the balance of the unused meal period will be taken within two (2) hours of the interruption. If the employee is unable to reschedule such time, she shall be paid time and one-half (1½) her regular straight time hourly rate for all time worked in excess of her normal daily hours, in accordance with Article 16.01.

  • ARTICLE HOURS OF WORK The following provision designating regular hours on a daily tour and regular daily tours over the nursing schedule determined by the Hospital shall not be construed to be a guarantee of the hours of work to be performed on each tour or during each tour schedule. Subject to Article below:

  • Normal Hours of Work 10A.01 The normal work day is defined as the twenty-four (24) hour period beginning at 12:00 Midnight. 10A.02 The employer has the option of working either five (5) eight (8) hour days or four (4) ten

  • HOURS OF WORK AND OVERTIME A. The normal work week shall be from Monday to Friday both inclusive and shall comprise five (5) days of eight (8) hours each. B. All hours worked in excess of eight (8) hours in any day shall be paid at the rate of 1 ½ times the regular hourly rate. C. Any work performed on Saturday shall be considered overtime and shall be paid at the rate of 1 ½ times the hourly rate of pay except as provided in “E” or except for the Tuesday/Saturday shift at the high school and middle schools. Whenever possible, the Board shall notify the employees of any Sat- urday or Sunday work not later than the end of the shift on Thursday of that week only if such Saturday or Sunday work is scheduled prior to the end of the shift on Thursday of that week, except in cases of emergency. Nothing contained in this paragraph shall be construed to be a guarantee of overtime if such is scheduled nor shall the right of the Board to cancel such scheduled overtime be limited. Employees who are required to work on a Saturday or a Sunday shall be xxxxxx- xxxx a minimum of four hours of work at the overtime rates provided in B and C above. H. Overtime shall be distributed equally as practical by building and/or department among the employees qualified and capable of performing the work available. Individuals declining overtime will be required to sign off acknowledging refusal. During emergencies or when a re- placement is unavailable, working overtime may be mandatory. I. In the event an employee is called back to work after the conclusion of a normal work shift, the employee will be entitled to a minimum of four (4) hours pay at the overtime rate and the Board reserves the right to assign four (4) hours of work in such situations. If the call- back is for an open window or door, the payment shall be two (2) hours at the overtime rate. Failure of an employee to properly secure his/her area of responsibility shall result in disciplinary action. J. Except in case of emergency, or in the event of performance on an assigned job, or during July and August, no seasonal or substitute employees shall perform in excess of forty (40) hours per week the duties of employees in the bargaining unit, nor shall seasonal or sub- stitute employees be hired or retained if regular permanent employees are on a temporary lay-off due to a reduction in force. K. Employees shall be granted no more than a fifteen (15) minute coffee break in the morning. L. When an employee is required to work in excess of ten (10) hours or more, said employee shall be granted a second one-half (1/2) hour lunch period at no loss of pay for such lunch period, and shall be granted an additional one-half (1/2) hour lunch period for each five

  • DAYS AND HOURS OF WORK The standard workweek for workers occupying full-time positions consists of 40 hours unless otherwise specified by the Board of Supervisors. The appointing authority shall fix the hours of work with due regard for the convenience of the public and the laws of the State and the County. Workers occupying part-time positions shall work such hours and schedules as the Board and the appointing authority shall prescribe.

  • Period of Work Work under this Agreement shall begin no sooner than the date on which this Agreement has been fully executed by the parties and approved by the Controller and the State Purchases Review Committee.
