Hours of Work Table. A part-time employee employed under the provisions of clause 4.1.2 must be paid for ordinary hours worked at the rate of 1/36th of the weekly rate prescribed for the class of work performed. Pro-rata benefits are based on full time Average Weekly Hours of 36 hrs per week. Pro-rata benefits will accrue at a rate consistent with the proportion of average weekly part-time hours worked to the average full-time working week. For example, an average weekly part-time working week of 18 hours, in a stream where the average full-time working week is 36 hours, will result in pro-rata benefits of 50% of the benefits applicable to full-time employees. This means of determining pro-rata benefits will apply to all forms of relevant benefits including paid leave subject to meeting other eligibility terms of various leave payments. In the case of sick leave, the pro-rata benefit as described will only apply to sickness on days normally worked. Where a public holiday falls on a day upon which a part-time employee is normally employed and the employee is not required to work, that employee shall be paid for the hours which would normally have been worked on that day. If required to work on that day, the employee shall be paid for the time worked at the appropriate penalty rate.
