Interview Panels. When the College deems it necessary to interview applicants for any positions, an interview panel shall be formed. At no time shall any member of the interview panel be related to any applicant being interviewed. All interviews must be done by panels. The panel will ordinarily include the hiring manager/supervisor, a co-worker and a representative from another department. An interview panel will ordinarily consist of not more than four (4) people. Additional people will require mutual agreement between the College and the Union. All applicants must be interviewed by the same panel comprised of the same members. All applicants shall receive the same questions in the interview and be rated in accordance with the guiding factors identified in clause 14.03 (a).

Interview Panels. 27:01 When a vacancy for a Bargaining Unit position for a Teacher exists, an interview panel will be convened by the Principal. Teachers may be invited to suggest candidate search criteria and provide input on the needs of their respective departments/programs. No Teacher shall be a member of an interview panel. 27:02 The interview panel shall establish interview questions and participate in the interview process. 27:03 The final decision on the selection and appointment of the successful applicant is the exclusive responsibility of the Principal.
Interview Panels. 11.7.1 Applicants for vacancies will be initially reviewed by OSA management to determine if they meet minimum qualifications and should progress to the panel interview process. This may include an informal meeting with the candidate. The 24 request from CSEA must be received by the District Human 25 Resources Director at least 72 business hours before the time set 26 for the first interview for the position to be filled. 27 d. For Classified promotional positions that have interview panels 28 made up of more than six (6) individuals, CSEA may request to 29 have CSEA members represent 30% of the interview panel 30 members. 31 e. The parties agree that interviews may go forward if the invited 32 CSEA participants are not present. 33 f. The additional unit member(s) will be selected by the District 34 Human Resources department on a rotational basis from a pool of 35 between ten (10) and twenty (20) unit members designated and 36 trained by XXXX to participate on interview panels. For 37 scheduling and/or operational reasons, the District Human 38 Resources department may skip a unit member whose turn it 39 would otherwise be to serve on an interview panel upon request of 40 the unit member’s immediate supervisor. 1 g. If multiple interview panels are scheduled to be held on the same 2 day, the CSEA Chapter President may select a unit member to take 3 the President’s place on each such panel.

Accordingly, a Teacher may decline to participate. b) Teacher participation on the interview panel will reflect minority representation. c) In the event that there are no Teacher volunteers willing to participate in the interview panel (per Articles 18:18b) and 27:01b), the Bargaining Unit will appoint a Teacher, with requisite qualifications as identified by the Principal to participate in the interview panel. d) UTS will communicate to the Bargaining Unit when a Teacher has volunteered for an interview panel and will identify the name(s) of volunteer(s). 27:03 The Panel shall establish questions and participate in the interview process. 27:04 The final decision on the selection and appointment of the successful applicant is the exclusive responsibility of the Principal.
