Person Centered/Driven Planning (PCP/PDP) – An ongoing process used to help people with disabilities plan for their future. In Person Centered Planning, groups of people focus on an individual and that person's vision of what they would like to do in the future. Person Driven Planning empathizes the role of the individual in the transition process. Under WIOA 422, each local office of a DSE must attend person-centered planning meetings for individuals receiving services under Title 19 of the Social Security Act, when invited. Imperial County Local Partnership Agreement (ICLPA) - Local Partnership Agreements are the result of conversations. They articulate the ways in which local partners will work together to streamline service delivery, engage their communities, and increase CIE opportunities for individuals with ID/DD. These agreements provide the opportunity for each set of local partners to determine what strategies will work best for individuals with ID/DD. Local Education Agency (LEA). An individual with a disability is a student who is identified by an Individualized Education Program (IEP) Team as someone with a disability under both federal and state law, and who requires instruction and services which cannot effectively be provided with modification of the regular school program, in order to ensure that the student receives a free and appropriate public education (FAPE). Referrals are made after the resources of the regular education program have been considered, and when appropriate implemented, and interventions documented. The Sponsor may participate in IEP meetings at the School and may serve as the LEA Repre- sentative when attending. If an IEP may result in the removal of a student with a disability from the School, the Sponsor must be provided notice to participate in the meeting at a mutually agreed time.

Orientation and Mobility (O&M) Services refer to services provided to children with a visual impairment by a COMS to enable those children to attain systematic orientation to and safe movement within their environments in school, home, and community. It includes teaching children the following, as appropriate: • spatial and environment concepts and use of information received by the senses (such as sound, temperature and vibrations) to establish, maintain, or regain orientation and line of travel; • to use the long cane to supplement visual travel skills or as a tool for safely negotiating the environment for students with no available travel vision; • To understand and use remaining vision and distance low vision devices; and other concepts, techniques, and tools. Part C refers to Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Amendments of 1997.

  • Special Education Special education services, related services, and accommodations for students who are eligible under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (Section 504), the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), or any applicable provisions of state law, shall be provided in accordance with applicable state and federal law, this Agreement and Authorizer rules and policies.
