OVERTIME – Revise to read. For hourly employees overtime shall be compensated at the rate of one and one-half (1½) times the straight-time hourly rate of pay for all time worked beyond a forty (40) hour week. All overtime must be approved by the immediate supervisor, designee or other appropriate available supervisory staff. The Employer may require overtime from time to time. Overtime will first be offered to bargaining unit members by seniority and qualifications. The most senior employee may choose to work or decline overtime. If there are no volunteers for the overtime offered, the Employer may assign the overtime in order of reverse seniority. However, seniority shall not apply if the work to be performed in overtime is specifically pertinent to a specific job assignment given to a particular employee. Overtime pay rates for work performed on a holiday shall be determined based upon the employee’s regular pay rate and not upon any holiday premium. (TA 6/4/12) Section 13.9(b) – Revise to read: When all other considerations are equal, preference shall be given to extending the hours of current employees over hiring new employees; provided that such extension of hours for current employees do not result in placing an employee into a work week in excess of forty (40) hours per week. Priority will be given to regular employees who work less than forty (40) hours per week. A list of employees who request additional hours shall be maintained and updated on a quarterly basis. Senior employees shall be given preference where more than one employee is available and qualified for additional hours. It is the responsibility of the employee to notify the supervisor of their request for additional hours. OVERTIME – Revise to read. Work performed on the any seventh (7th) consecutive day in any workweek of the affected employee without a twenty-four (24) hour period of off duty time in the seven days shall be compensated for at the rate of double the straight-time hourly rate of pay for the classification involved in the event that a seven (7) day work period is utilized. After the seventh day, the employee will be compensated at the regular hourly rate until such time as the employee works for seven (7) consecutive days again. PTO, EIB and all other categories of paid leaves shall be excluded from the calculation of overtime and double time.

  • Overtime Provisions (a) Time worked as an extension to the regular scheduled shift or time worked in a bi-weekly pay period that is in excess of seventy-five (75) hours shall be compensated at a rate of one and one-half times (1½ x) the Nurse’s regular hourly rate for the overtime worked. A Nurse who works in excess of four (4) hours overtime in any one day shall be compensated at a rate of two times (2 x) the Nurse’s regular hourly rate for the overtime worked.

  • Eligibility for Overtime Compensation (a) Overtime compensation rates for all hours worked in excess of the workday and workweek identified below shall be as follows:

  • Right to Refuse Overtime All employees shall have the right to refuse to work overtime, except when required to do so in emergency situations, without being subject to disciplinary action for so refusing.

  • No Lay-Off to Compensate for Overtime An employee shall not be required to lay-off during regular hours to equalize any overtime worked.

  • No Layoff to Compensate for Overtime Employees shall not be required to layoff during regular hours to equalize any overtime worked.

  • Overtime Procedure Overtime work shall be on a voluntary basis and it is mutually agreed that when overtime work is scheduled by the Company, it shall be distributed in an equalized manner amongst the Employee in the classification usually performing such work. However, the Company recognizes the equity of maintaining minimum differentials in the overtime hours amongst all Employees within a classification. The overtime roster will be maintained by classification and supervisory group within the Department and will be openly displayed in the work area, so that Employees may check their respective standing. Notice of overtime opportunities must be given at least two (2) hours before shift ends for an extended shift, or in the case of weekend work such as Saturday, Sunday or a holiday, the work notice for overtime work must be given by 12:01 p.m. on the Friday prior to the weekend. Overtime will be offered to Employees who are actually at work at the time such request is made. The Employees with the least credited overtime hours in the classification will be offered the overtime opportunity first. Any Employee who changes classification, department or shift shall be credited with the average number of hours in the classification to which he enters. Equalization charts will be re-set to zero each January. Any Employee placed on an overtime roster to hire, recall, reclassification or return from sick leave is to be charged with the average number of hours charged against the Employees in the work area who are in the same classification. Where the overtime opportunity is lost to the classification (ie. A Welder doing Master Painter overtime), the Employee will be entitled to payment as if he had worked the overtime opportunity. If the Employee has been bypassed in the administration of an equal opportunity, arrangements will be made by the Company to offer the equivalent amount of overtime within one (1) week period from the date of complaint, or pay the Employee the amount owed as if he/she had worked the overtime opportunity. The overtime procedure will not apply to Employees who are:

  • Overtime Meals When employees are required to work more than two (2) hours beyond their regular work days, the Employer will provide hot meals at no cost to the employees, up to a maximum of sixteen dollars ($16.00) (receipts to be submitted) plus paid meal periods of one-half (1/2) hour at the prevailing rate and thereafter at four (4) hour intervals. Any early morning start before regular starting time is entitled to a paid meal. The breakfast limit is thirteen dollars ($13.00) (receipts to be submitted). Employees called out on overtime shall be paid for meals as above, after four (4) hours work.

  • Compensation for Overtime 9.5.1 All overtime hours, except those overtime hours exceeding twelve (12) hours in one day, shall be compensated at a rate of pay equal to time and one-half the regular rate of pay of the employee. Those overtime hours exceeding twelve (12) in one day shall be compensated at a rate of pay equal to two times the regular pay of the employee.

  • Overtime Meal Employees requested to work more than two (2) hours overtime after completion of their regular shift, will be given one-half (1/2) hour on Company time to eat their lunch and will be given seven dollars ($7.00) meal money.

  • Equalization of Overtime To the extent possible, consistent with current practice, voluntary overtime opportunities shall be distributed equally among qualified volunteers with similar skills and duties . The employer will attempt to meet overtime needs by first soliciting volunteers prior to making assignments . It is understood that soliciting volunteers may not be appropriate in emergency situations (including short- notice absences) . Section Six. (a) Effective 7/1/95, employees who are assigned to a fixed duty station and have previously been receiving portal to portal pay, shall have the benefit of counting their travel time to and from the fixed duty station limited to one-half (1/2) hour each way.
