Paid Compassionate Leave. (a) An Employee (other than a Casual Employee) will be entitled to paid compassionate leave in accordance with the Act and subject to the terms of the Act. (b) Subject to clauses 30.1(d) and (e), a Full-Time or Part-Time Employee is entitled to a period of two days of compassionate leave for each occasion when: (i) a member of the Employee's immediate family (as defined by section 12 of the Act) or a member of the Employee’s household: (A) contracts or develops a personal illness that poses a serious threat to his or her life; or (B) sustains a personal injury that poses a serious threat to his or her life; or (ii) a child is stillborn, where the child would have been a member of the Employee's immediate family (as defined by section 12 of the Act) or a member of the Employee's household; or (iii) the Employee or their spouse or de facto partner has a miscarriage. (c) Subject to clauses 30.1(d) and (e), a Full-Time or Part-Time Employee is entitled to a period of three days of compassionate leave for each occasion when a member of the Employee's immediate family (as defined by section 12 of the Act) or a member of the Employee's household dies. (d) An Employee may be required to provide the Employer with satisfactory evidence of such illness, injury, death, stillbirth or miscarriage. (e) Subject to clause 30.1(f), an Employee shall not be entitled to compassionate leave under this clause during any period in respect of which the Employee has been granted other leave or is otherwise stood down on leave of absence without pay. (f) Compassionate leave may be taken in conjunction with leave available under clause 27

Paid Compassionate Leave. A Teacher will be entitled to paid compassionate leave in accordance with the Act. For the purposes of this clause, compassionate leave is paid leave taken by a Teacher for the purposes of: (i) spending time with a person who is a member of the Teacher's Immediate Family (as defined by section 12 of the Act) or a member of the Teacher's household; and has a personal illness, or injury, that poses a serious threat to his or her life; or (ii) after the death of a member of the Teacher's Immediate Family or a member of the Teacher's household; or
Paid Compassionate Leave. Upon request, an employee shall be granted leave paid at full salary of up to four thirty-fifths of their appointment contract(s) to attend ill member(s) of their immediate family or equivalent, except where the illness is diagnosed as life- threatening or terminal, in which case an employee shall be granted leave paid at full salary of up to six thirty-fifths of their appointment contract(s), and shall be entitled to a leave of absence of up to eight weeks in time including the paid portion of six thirty-fifths.

Benefits the Employee is entitled to receive and eighty percent (80%) of her/his regular weekly wage, less any other income the Employee may receive. Paid Compassionate Leave. (a) An Employee is entitled to up to three days compassionate leave on each occasion of the death of a member of the Employee’s immediate family or household or to spend time with a member of their immediate family or household who has a personal illness or injury that poses a serious threat to his or her life. (b) Each period of compassionate leave is paid instead of any other approved leave on the relevant day(s). (c) Employees may be required to produce satisfactory evidence to support applications for leave under this clause.

(iii) Subject to sub-clauses 24.7(b)(i) and (ii), a full-time or part-time teacher is entitled to a period of two days of compassionate leave for each occasion when a member of the teacher's immediate family or household: (A) contracts or develops a personal illness that poses a serious threat to his or her life; or (B) sustains a personal injury that poses a serious threat to his or her life. (iv) Subject to sub-clauses 24.7(b)(i) and (ii), a full-time or part-time teacher is entitled to a period of three days of compassionate leave for each occasion when a member of the teacher's immediate family or household dies.
Paid Compassionate Leave. The employee (other than a casual employee) is entitled to a period of two days of paid compassionate leave for each occasion where a member of the employee’s immediate family or household either has a personal illness or injury that poses a serious threat to the life of the member, or dies. Payment for compassionate leave will be made at the ordinary rate of pay the employee receives immediately before the period of compassionate leave begins. Paid compassionate leave counts as service for all purposes. The following are, for the purposes of this clause, members of an employee’s immediate family: ▪ a spouse (including a former spouse, de facto spouse or former de facto spouse), child, parent, grandparent, grandchild or sibling of the employee; and ▪ a child, parent, grandparent, grandchild or sibling of a spouse of the employee.

Paid Compassionate Leave. (i) All Employees, other than casual Employees, shall in addition to paid sick leave and paid carers leave, be entitled to take up to 2 days of paid compassionate leave per occasion for the purpose of bereavement (where death occurs), or emergency circumstances of illness posing a serious threat to the life of an immediate family member or household, or where the employee actively supports or spends time with the affected person. The period of compassionate leave taken shall be paid at the Base Rate of Pay. (ii) The Employee must give the employer any evidence that the employer reasonably requires of the illness, accident or death.
Paid Compassionate Leave. (i) All Employees, other than casual Employees, shall be entitled to take up to 2 days of paid compassionate leave per occasion for the purpose of bereavement (where death occurs) or emergency circumstances posing a serious threat to the safety or life of an immediate family or household member, in accordance with the Australian Fair Pay and Conditions Standard. The period of compassionate leave taken shall be paid at the Base Periodic Rate of Pay. (ii) The Employee must give the employer any evidence that the employer reasonable requires of the illness, accident or death.
