Personnel Committee. 16.13.1 Each school will have a School Personnel Committee that will interview and recommend all candidates for any vacant positions at the school, except the selection of the Principal. After interviewing the candidates for any vacant positions, the Personnel Committee will rank all the candidates in order of preference using a consensus method. This recommendation will be forwarded to the Supervisor, who will consider the recommendation in making the hiring decision.
16.13.2 When DCPS determines an excess is necessary, the Personnel Committee will make a recommendation as to which Teachers is excessed based on consensus. This recommendation will be forwarded to the Supervisor, who will consider the recommendation in making the excessing decision. The Teachers in the affected area may submit evidence to the Personnel Committee for their consideration. An individual who is in the affected area shall recuse him or herself from the Personnel Committee for this decision.
16.13.3 The members of the Personnel Committee will include:
16.13.3.1 The Supervisor or his/her designee;
16.13.3.2 The WTU Building Representative or his/her designee;
16.13.3.3 The Department Head, or grade level chairperson (or his/her designee) from the applicable department or grade level affected by the vacancy, or a member of the appropriate employee group (e.g., custodians, paraprofessionals, etc.). However, in the event the Personnel Committee is considering excessing, the Personnel Committee will instead include any one Department Head or grade level chairperson, or his or her designee;
16.13.3.4 At least one additional Teacher, but not more than four (4), elected by the WTU chapter at the school; and
16.13.3.5 A parent of a current student mutually agreed upon by both the WTU Building Representative and the building Supervisor.
16.13.4 At any time, any School Personnel Committee member can excuse him or herself from any Personnel Committee business.
16.13.5 All Personnel Committee business shall be conducted in a confidential manner. All information received, discussed and/or disclosed during the interview, hiring and excessing process shall be considered confidential, and will not be shared by any member of the Personnel Committee.. Nothing herein shall require DCPS to provide confidential personnel information to the Personnel Committee.

Personnel Committee. 1 Each school shall establish a Personnel Committee to select candidates for vacancies and Reduction in Building Staff (RIBS) at the school building. 13-8-2 The Personnel Committee will be composed of the principal and three (3) teachers chosen by a vote of the faculty, and may have no more than two (2) parent(s) as member(s) appointed by the Collaborative School Committee. 13-8-3 Teacher members will be chosen by the faculty. The Personnel Committee may have one (1) or more of the teacher assignments filled, on a rotating basis, by (a) teacher(s) in the grade, team, or department in which the vacancy exists. The Personnel Committee will determine whether more than one (1) Personnel Committee is necessary to meet the needs of the school. 13-8-4 The Personnel Committee will make decisions by consensus, if possible. If the Personnel Committee is unable to reach a decision by consensus, the principal shall make an impasse decision.

Personnel Committee a. Unit members at each school will elect a Personnel Committee (“PC”) of not more than seven (7) members with the simple majority (at maximum) of members being teachers at the site. For example, a seven (7) member PC shall have four (4) teacher members, and a five (5) member PC shall have three (3) teacher members.
b. The PC members shall, as much as feasible, reflect the needs of the grade levels, departments, and specialized programs. The PC shall call upon individuals to provide information, experience, and input in particular areas of expertise as needed. At the secondary level, at least one unit member with knowledge and/or experience in the content area, grade level, or pathway of the position for which a transfer applicant/candidate is being considered shall participate in the process.
c. By the second Friday in January, the PC will designate up to two teachers of the PC to be trained by Human Resources.
d. All teacher members of the PC will receive a stipend of $250. Up to two teacher members shall receive an additional $100 stipend for being designated as being available to participate in the summer hiring process during Phase 4.

Personnel Committee. A. The Board and the Association shall appoint a personnel committee to serve in an advisory capacity to the Board. Such committee shall be representative of the administrative and teaching staff.
B. The function of this committee shall be to review, evaluate and make reports on applications for leaves of absence, professional growth, extra pay for extra duty and other matters which may be assigned to the committee by joint action of the Board and/or the Association.
C. The personnel committee shall meet as mutually agreed upon by the Board and/or the Association.
