Posting of Temporary Vacancies. When a vacancy occurs by reason of a leave of absence, including pregnancy/parental leave, or extended illness or injury, which is expected to exceed six months, such vacancies shall be posted and filled in accordance with the Job Selection provisions of the Civilian Working Agreement. Note: Full-time permanent members are to be considered for all postings before either temporary or part-time employees are considered.

Posting of Temporary Vacancies. (a) Temporary vacancies of more than twelve (12) months arising from leave of absence situations, including parental leave situations or from the need for additional staff due to heavy workload situations or special projects, shall be posted in accordance with Section 25.01 above. (b) All unposted temporary vacancies will first be offered to qualified employees, who at the time the vacancy occurs, report to the Manager (Level 4) where the vacancy occurs.

(ii) Temporary vacancies of greater than three (3) months duration shall be posted for competition in accordance with Article 13.01(a). (iii) Upon completion of a temporary assignment an employee shall return to his former position, and a contract employee shall be terminated. (iv) If a permanent position has been filled, by a bargaining unit applicant, on a temporary basis and the position becomes vacant upon the conclusion of the temporary assignment, because the incumbent is not returning, the Employer shall, with mutual agreement of the employer and the employee filling the temporary vacancy, and the union, confirm the employee permanently in the position. If a permanent position has been filled by an external applicant, on a temporary basis, and the position becomes vacant upon the conclusion of the temporary assignment, because the incumbent is not returning, the employer shall post the permanent position in accordance with Article 13.01(a). (v) It is understood that an employee who has been accepted as the successful candidate for a temporary position will forego their right to apply for any subsequent temporary vacancy during the term of their current temporary assignment.
Posting of Temporary Vacancies. In areas of Warehouse, Lab and Janitorial. Temporary positions are to cover vacations, leaves of absence and sickness only. The Company and the Union will evaluate the number of temporary positions needed in each department at the time of vacation approval. These positions will be posted and will not exceed one year in duration. An employee holding job will not be eligible to apply for a temporary position. Full rate of pay will be paid for all hours worked in the temporary position.

Where these unposted temporary vacancies are filled and extended beyond twelve (12) months, they shall be subject to the posting requirements of Section 25.01 above.

  • Temporary Vacancies The Company and the Union recognize that temporary employees may be required to temporarily provide additional manpower due to vacation, weekly indemnity, excess of work, etc. All temporary employees performing bargaining unit work are members of the bargaining unit and as such all terms and conditions of the collective agreement apply except as herein provided. Individuals may be hired to fill temporary vacancies. Temporary vacancies and employees shall last a maximum of eight (8) calendar weeks. This does not prevent the Company and the Union from mutually agreeing to extend the eight (8) week limitation on an individual basis. However, unless there is written agreement to the contrary, the eight (8) calendar week limitation shall be respected. Should the position be made permanent, the job will be posted as per 9.07(e). Any skills or experience gained by the temporary employee while in the temporary job, shall not be used to determine him more suitable for the position than the employee with seniority who applies. Prior to any layoff all temporary employees will be terminated. Overtime will only be offered to temporary employees after all qualified senior and probationary employees within the classification concerned have refused. Public holidays will be paid to the temporary employees as per the Employment Standards Act Part X (10). Temporary employees will be hired for the applicable classification and wage rate as per Appendix A of the Collective Agreement. Should a temporary employee apply for a job posting and be successful as per Article 9.07 of the Collective Agreement the temporary employee shall then become a probationary employee. The seniority date of a temporary employee who is awarded a full-time position will equal the date the full-time position is awarded. No person, who is or has been employed by the Company outside of the bargaining unit, shall be eligible to work as a temporary employee within the bargaining unit, unless his record of employment with the Company has been severed in excess of one week.

Existing position(s) that become vacant after the August Board Meeting shall be awarded to the most senior bargaining unit member who is on the recall list, provided he/she possesses the proper certification/licensure, if comparable evaluations. Evaluation ratings shall be the determining factor governing the selection of the recalled employee. They shall remain in the position for the school year, or whatever portion of the year is remaining. 1. Any bargaining unit member on the recall list who possesses the proper certification/licensure for the vacancy and who is offered a position after the start of the school year and declines the position will not lose his/her recall rights. 2. The Board may, absent a properly certified/licensed individual on the recall list, or if there is a properly certified/licensed individual on the recall list who declines the position after the start of the school year, hire a new employee or a substitute to fill the vacancy for the school year, or whatever portion of the year remains. C. Vacancies that are filled under the provisions of Section 6.032 B of the Agreement shall be posted for the ensuing school year no later than April 15 of each school year unless extenuating circumstances arise in which the posting will be made as soon as practicable. The posting(s) shall adhere to the provisions set forth in Section 6.032 A. 2. through A. 5. of the Agreement. D. For all newly created positions while schools are in session the following shall apply: 1.   • Grant of Temporary Entry 1. Each Party shall grant temporary entry to business persons who comply with existing immigration measures applicable to temporary entry such as those relating to public health and safety and national security, in accordance with this Chapter and the terms and conditions of Annex 7 (Commitments for Temporary Entry for Business Persons). 2. Each Party shall limit any fees for processing applications for temporary entry of business persons so as to not unduly impair or delay trade in goods or services or the conduct of investment activities under this Agreement. 1. Further to Article 167 (Transparency) of the Chapter 13 (Transparency), and recognizing the importance to the Parties of transparency of temporary entry information, each Party shall: (a) provide to the other Party relevant materials that will enable it to become acquainted with its measures relating to this Chapter; and (b) no later than 6 months after the date of entry into force of this Agreement, make available explanatory material regarding the requirements for temporary entry under this Chapter in such a manner that will enable business persons of the other Party to become acquainted with them. 2. Each Party shall collect and maintain, and, on request, make available to the other Party in accordance with its domestic law, data respecting the granting of temporary entry under this Chapter to business persons of the other Party who have been issued immigration documentation.

  • Vacancy Posting ‌ If a regular employee is absent from his/her position for more than 24 months as a result of medical leave, such position will be posted in accordance with the provision of Article 12. Upon return to work the regular employee shall be returned to work to a position of equal rank and basic pay.

  • Temporary Positions A) The Employer may create regular temporary positions for vacation relief for more than one (1) incumbent for up to six (6) months duration. B) The Employer may create regular temporary project positions (i.e. grant funded, capital projects, pilot projects, or term specific assignments) for up to twelve (12) months’ duration. These positions are not renewable after the end date of the project, unless the Union and Employer agree to renew/extend the time limits. C) These positions will be posted and filled in accordance with Article 17.01-
