Posting of Vacation Schedules. Vacation schedules shall be posted in each Center by the Employer simultaneously with the Annual Bids in January of each year. An employee who does not select his/her vacation period when vacation schedules are posted for bid shall be assigned the vacation period by the Employer. Vacation schedules and seniority lists will be sent to the Local Union one (1) week prior to posting upon written request.

Posting of Vacation Schedules. Employees shall submit their request for vacation no later than October 15th of each calendar year. Employees who fail to indicate a choice of vacation leave by this same date will have waived whatever rights they may have had to choose their vacation leave period. A completed vacation leave schedule for all employees shall be posted in an electronic format accessible to all applicable employees by November 15th of that same calendar year. Seniority for additional choices of vacation leave shall not apply until each employee on such schedule has had the opportunity of indicating their first choice or has been assigned vacation as the case may be.

In preparing such schedules, the Employer will ensure that a reasonable number of employees in each classification shall be employed at all times during the continuance of this Agreement for the efficient operation of Council work.
Posting of Vacation Schedules. Procedures-Full-Time Employees (a) Vacation schedules for the Summer Period (May 1st to September 30th inclusive) shall be posted by January 31st and vacation selections, by Company Seniority, will be completed by April 1st of each year. (b) Vacation schedules for the Winter Period (October 1st to April 30th inclusive) shall also be posted by January 31st and vacation selections, by Company Seniority, will be completed by September 1st of each year, subject to 22.05(a). (c) An employee may schedule their entire vacation entitlement in one continuous period provided they schedule their selection during the Winter Period (October 1st to April 30th). (d) All employees in each Department at each Location shall be given the opportunity to select their annual vacation in the Summer Period and/or Winter Periods in order of Company Seniority. Employees in each Department at each Location may be divided into groups of equal number, or as nearly as reasonably possible, and listed in order of Company Seniority. Group(s) will have the most senior employee at the top of the first group followed by the second most senior employee at the top of the second group etc. until all groups are filled. (e) It is the employees’ responsibility to make their vacation selection(s) by April 1st for the Summer Period selections and by September 1st for the Winter Period selections. After these deadlines any employee, regardless of Company Seniority, may select any unscheduled vacation periods on a first come first serve basis according to their vacation entitlement. (f) Upon notification of their turn by the Supervisor, an employee will have four (4) days to submit their selection in writing or the employee will, subject to extenuating circumstances, (the onus of demonstrating the extenuating circumstances will rest with the employee), forfeit their turn. The available periods remaining for that round of selections will be offered in order of Company Seniority to the remaining employees in the group. (g) Employees may select their vacation entitlement in periods of one (1) week or more however employees may also request authorization from the Supervisor to select vacation periods in less than one (1) week, providing their remaining vacation entitlement is less than (1) one week. Posting of Vacation Schedules. The Society shall post a notice not later than November 30th of each year for the purpose of allowing each employee to signify the time at which they wish to take their annual vacation. It is agreed that each employee will notify their Supervisor of their preferred dates for their annual vacation, such notification to be given no later than December 31st of each year. Supervisors will review requests and approve vacations in accordance with the wishes of the employees and the needs of the Society; the approved vacation schedule will be posted electronically by January 31st of the following year. Should two or more employees signify that they wish to take their annual vacations at the same time and the Society cannot allow all such persons to be off at the same time, consideration shall be given to the needs of the Society and the seniority of the employees in determining the schedule. It is understood that the Society will make every effort to give effect to the wishes of the employees in scheduling of annual vacation.
