Probationary Period for New Hires. All newly hired employees shall be required to serve a probationary period of one-hundred eighty (180) calendar days. All absences (paid and unpaid) shall extend the probationary period accordingly. During the probationary period, the employee shall have no seniority status and may be laid off or terminated at the sole discretion of the Employer. Such layoff or termination shall not be subject to the Grievance Procedure.
