Reduction of Employees. A. When the Employer decides to reduce the number of bargaining unit members within a seniority classification, employees shall be reduced in order of least seniority within the sub-classification being reduced, provided there are remaining more senior employees within the sub-classification who are qualified and able to perform all the job duties of the less senior employees being reduced. Employees reduced from a sub-classification shall, upon written request, be retained in positions in lower series sub-classifications within the same seniority classification, provided the senior employees are qualified and able to perform all the job duties of less senior employees.
Reduction of Employees. (a) If a reduction of staff is necessary due to a shortage of work, Southern Railway of British Columbia shall meet with and advise the Union of the proposed reduction, and the following procedure shall apply:
Reduction of Employees. 12.03.01. If the Company determines that it is necessary to reduce permanent employees, the employees with the least seniority would be the first to be removed subject to the Company’s need to maintain required staffing complements.

Following any suspension, and if there is a vacant position in the district, the Board will attempt to aid the employee in obtaining an emergency certificate for the employee in the area of the vacancy, so that he may assume the vacant position. It is understood that said employee shall pursue a program of study to secure the proper certification in the area vacant and shall be maintained in said position while doing so, as long as the emergency certificate is maintained by the employee/district.
Reduction of Employees. The Company accepts that following the election or appointment of a Union officer; no reduction in numbers of employees within a department will affect their term of office.

Reduction of Employees. A). Reductions in force and recall of teachers shall be conducted in accordance with the School Code. If a full-time teacher in is removed or dismissed as a result of a decision of the Board to decrease the number of teachers employed by the Board or to discontinue some particular type of teaching service, written notice shall be provided to the teacher by certified mail, personal delivery, and First Class US Mail at least forty-five (45) days before the end of the school term, together with a statement of honorable dismissal.

Reduction of Employees. Reduction in force for certified employees shall be governed by School Code sections 5/24-11 and 5/24-12. Written and signed agreement reached by the Joint RIF Committee shall be maintained on file and available for inspection by the Superintendent of Schools and the President of the JCEA.
