Safe Patient Handling. The Employer shall maintain a safe patient handling policy at all times for all patient care units, and shall provide trained lift teams or other support staff trained in safe lifting techniques. The Employer shall comply with all laws governing safe patient handling. During the first year of the Agreement, the Employer agrees to meet with the Labor Management Communications Committee at least once per month, if the employees on the LMCC or the Union so request.
Safe Patient Handling. In addition, Swedish will maintain a Safe Patient Handling subcommittee with membership representation in compliance with Washington State Engrossed House Xxxx (EHB) 1672 (Chapter 165, Laws of 2006). The purpose of the committee is to design and recommend the process for implementing a safe patient handling program. At least half of the members of the safe patient handling committee shall be frontline non-managerial employees who provide direct care to patients. Bargaining Unit participants will be appointed by the Union.

Acknowledging that back, neck and shoulder injuries are some of the most prevalent occupational hazards for employees, management agrees to continue its comprehensive ergonomic and injury reduction program.
Safe Patient Handling. The Medical Center shall provide and maintain a Safe Patient Handling Program which identified necessary equipment, education, and facilitators.
Safe Patient Handling. 39.1 Eastern and Western State Hospitals have implemented patient safe handling programs in accordance with the requirements of RCW 70.41.390. Eastern and Western State Hospitals will continue safe patient handling committees consistent with RCW 70.41.
Safe Patient Handling. The County shall maintain a safe patient handling policy for all patient care units in acute care facilities in accordance with applicable state and or federal law, including AB1136, as applicable. Such policy shall address providing nurses with appropriate equipment and staff assistance for moving patients, thereby eliminating, to the extent possible, manual lifting that may cause injuries. Each nurse is responsible for the observation and direction of the lifting and mobilization of patients, and participates as needed in patient handling. The County will provide uniform training in the handling of patients on the appropriate use of lifting devices, equipment, and body mechanics on an annual basis.
Safe Patient Handling. The Employer will establish the Safe Patient Handling (SPH) committee as mandated in the New Jersey Safe Patient Handling Act. The Union will select the Union representatives on the committee.
Safe Patient Handling.
1. Dignity Health is committed to providing a safe working environment that includes a commitment to protect nurses from workplace injuries associated with the handling of patients. Each hospital shall implement and maintain a safe patient handling policy for all patient care units.
2. Reasonable efforts will be made to eliminate the need for patient care providers to manually lift patients. Reasonable efforts may include the integration of mechanical lifts, education and appropriate training for staff involved in handling of patients. Appropriately trained and designated staff is to be available to assist with patient handling.
3. The Professional Practice Committee is the appropriate forum for nurses to raise safety concerns related to the handling or movement of patients. Each facility shall give due and fair consideration to recommendations from the Professional Practice Committee that are intended to reduce workplace injuries associated with the movement or handling of patients.
Safe Patient Handling. 9.4.1 The Facility will comply with Provisions of California Labor Code Section 6403.5 – Hospital Patient and Health Care Worker Injury Protection Act.
9.4.2 On an annual basis, the Hospital will provide the Union with a list that identifies, and provides the location of, patient handling equipment, including mechanical lifts and/or transfer and repositioning devices.
9.4.3 The Facility will maintain a Patient Handling program that will:
1. Provide education and training in safe patient handling equipment, including orientation on proper lifting techniques as appropriate;
2. Provide for Facility specific patient handling equipment and encourage employees to use mechanical lifts and/or transfer and repositioning devices where available and to use safe lifting techniques in all other circumstances;
3. Consider input from employees involved in patient handling; and
4. Require adherence to patient handling policies and procedures.
9.4.4 The Professional Performance Committee is the appropriate forum for nurses to raise safety concerns related to the handling or movement of patients.
ARTICLE 10 HEALTH AND WELFARE BENEFITS
Safe Patient Handling. 1. The Hospital agrees that it will submit the issue of Safe Patient Handling to the Safety Committee for review and recommendations and will comply with OSHA Regulations and with the New Jersey Safe Patient Handling Act.
