Safe Patient Handling. The Employer shall maintain a safe patient handling policy at all times for all patient care units, and shall provide trained lift teams or other support staff trained in safe lifting techniques. Acknowledging that back, neck and shoulder injuries are some of the most prevalent occupational hazards for employees, management agrees to continue its comprehensive ergonomic and injury reduction program.
Safe Patient Handling. The Medical Center shall provide and maintain a Safe Patient Handling Program which identified necessary equipment, education, and facilitators.
Safe Patient Handling. 39.1 Eastern and Western State Hospitals have implemented patient safe handling programs in accordance with the requirements of RCW 70.41.390. Eastern and Western State Hospitals will continue safe patient handling committees consistent with RCW 70.41.
Safe Patient Handling. The County shall maintain a safe patient handling policy for all patient care units in acute care facilities in accordance with applicable state and or federal law, including AB1136, as applicable. Such policy shall address providing nurses with appropriate equipment and staff assistance for moving patients, thereby eliminating, to the extent possible, manual lifting that may cause injuries. Each nurse is responsible for the observation and direction of the lifting and mobilization of patients, and participates as needed in patient handling. The County will provide uniform training in the handling of patients on the appropriate use of lifting devices, equipment, and body mechanics on an annual basis.
Safe Patient Handling. The Employer will establish the Safe Patient Handling (SPH) committee as mandated in the New Jersey Safe Patient Handling Act. The Union will select the Union representatives on the committee.
Safe Patient Handling. During the life of this contract, the Hospital will continue the existing Environment of Care Committee or such other committees as established by the hospital, which will be charged with ensuring the Hospital’s compliance with the provisions of the Minnesota Safe Patient Handling Act. The Committee will assess hazards with regard to safe patient handling, review the Hospital’s safe patient handling equipment and resources and the training regarding such, and will review procedures in place to ensure that safe patient handling concerns are addresses as part of remodeling and construction projects. At least half of the members of the Committee will be direct care staff, and among those, the Union will select employee committee members in a number proportionate to its representation of direct care employees. The Environment of Care Committee shall report at least annually to the L/M Committee.

a. September 28, 2023 (retroactive to the first full pay period after September 1, 2023), the Employer will provide the greater of a three- percent (3.0%) wage increase to all full-time and part-time employees (2% for per diem employees) with six (6) months or more of employment OR a move to the applicable step on the Hiring Grid (the “True up”) based on the employee’s continuous service in their current job classification at the Hospital. No employee may be below the minimum Step 0 on the Hiring Grid for their classification regardless of years of experience or any Wage Increase Cap placed on a wage increase. The parties agree that there shall be a fifteen percent (15%) Wage Increase Cap on any wage increase except as necessary to bring employees to the applicable Step 0 for their job classification at the Hospital. The across-the-board increase is applied before the True up not afterward.
b. May 1, 2024, the Employer will provide a three percent (3%) wage increase to all full-time and part-time employees (2% for per diem employees) with six (6) months or more of employment.
c. May 1, 2025, the Employer will provide a three percent (3%) wage increase to all full-time and part-time employees (2% for per diem employees) with six (6) months or more of employment.
d. Each of the above increases will be for those employees with six (6) months or more of service as of the effective date of the increase.
e. Each of the above across the board increases will be effective the first full pay period following the date above.
f. Wage increases required by law to meet state, county, or municipal minimum wage requirements shall have the percentage increase credited against any wage increase provided above.
Safe Patient Handling. The Medical Center shall maintain a safe patient handling program, such as the Medical Center’s current program developed by Prevent, Inc. This program includes the following: A clinical assessment by Nurses of the patient’s mobility and patient handling needs; Patient handling equipment; Training in safe patient handling and equipment use; Required adherence to patient handling policies and procedures, which incorporates procedures for emergency safe patient handling; and Training of all staff with patient handling responsibilities in safe patient handling methods.
