Section 6.4.1. 31 A grievance initiated in the name of the Association shall be submitted by the President of Public 32 School Employees of Arlington pursuant to Article XVI of the current Collective Bargaining 33 Agreement. Such grievances shall deal with issues not directly affecting an individual employee 34 with access to the grievance procedure.
Section 6.4.1. 43 Employees required by their supervisor to work through their regular lunch periods will be given 44 time to eat at a time designated by the supervisor. In the event the District requires an employee to 45 forego his/her lunch period, and the employee works his/her entire shift including the lunch 46 period, he/she will be compensated for the foregone lunch period. The alternative lunch period 47 will not be more than one (1) hour before or after the regularly scheduled lunch period.
Section 6.4.1. 32 A regular work shift will consist of eight and one-half (8 ½) hours which includes an 33 uninterrupted thirty (30) minute unpaid lunch period as near the middle of the shift as is 34 practicable, and also include a fifteen (15) minute first half and a fifteen (15) minute second 35 half rest period, which shall also occur as near the middle of each half shift as is practicable. 37 Employees working during the summer break, upon approval of their supervisor, shall be 38 allowed flexibility in scheduling their lunch break and rest periods. 40 Any shift of seven and one-half (7 ½) hours, up to eight (8) hours, shall receive an unpaid thirty 41 (30) minute uninterrupted lunch period as near the middle of the shift as is practicable. The 42 employee shall also receive a fifteen (15) minute first half and a fifteen (15) minute second half 43 rest period, both of which rest periods shall occur as near the middle of each half shift as is 44 practicable. 46 Any shift of five and one-half (5 ½) up to, but not including seven and one-half (7 ½) hours, 47 shall receive an unpaid thirty (30) minute uninterrupted lunch period and one (1) fifteen (15) 48 minute rest period. 1 Any shift of three (3) up to five (5) hours, shall receive one (1) fifteen (15) minute rest period. 2 Employees working up to three (3) hours shall receive no rest period. 4 In the event that the employee is required by his/her immediate supervisor or building 5 administrator to remain on duty during the meal period, and is therefore required to forego the 6 meal period, or any portion thereof, the employee shall be compensated for the foregone meal 7 period, or portion thereof, at the appropriate rate of pay.
Section 6.4.1. 18 The District will provide to all less-than-twelve-month staff the number and dates of expected work 19 days and hours per day by September 1. The District reserves the right to assign additional hours or 20 days when unanticipated needs arise.
Section 6.4.1. 42 All hours worked in excess of eight (8) hours shall be compensated at the rate of one and one- 43 half (1½) times the employee’s regular pay. An employee may, at his/her option, select 44 compensatory time off in lieu of overtime compensation. Compensatory time, if selected, may 45 be accrued; provided, however, that records shall be maintained and there must be a reasonable 46 expectation that the employee will be provided an opportunity to expend the accrued time. The 47 District shall not solicit employees to accept compensatory time in lieu of other compensation.
Section 6.4.1. 8 In work years that have over 260 workdays, twelve (12) month employees shall be awarded 9 additional days off equal to the number of workdays over 260 to be taken in conjunction with 10 the 4th of July holiday.
Section 6.4.1. 28 This Committee shall be the only entity able to grant apprenticeship program approval for District 29 employees.
Section 6.4.1. 33 For extra trips, the drivers will select trips, again based upon seniority. A list of all trips each 34 month will be created and the senior driver will make a selection followed by the next most 35 senior driver and so on. Should regular drivers not be available a substitute may be used. Any 36 trips that are not selected will be assigned based upon a reverse order of seniority.
Section 6.4.1. 1. 39 The extra trip list will run continuously so that all drivers have the same opportunity for 40 the same number of trips. A driver may opt out of routes and trips on a monthly basis. 41 Extra-curricular trips that are not selected will be assigned based upon a reverse order of 42 seniority.
Section 6.4.1. 12 This Committee shall be the only entity able to grant apprenticeship program approval for 13 District employees.
