Seniority During Absence. If an employee is absent from work because of sickness, accident, layoffs, or leave of absence approved by the Employer, they shall not lose seniority rights.

Seniority During Absence. If an employee is absent from work because of sickness, accident, layoffs, or leave of absence approved by the Employer, he shall not lose seniority rights. An employee shall only lose his seniority in the event: (a) He is discharged for just cause and is not reinstated. (b) He resigns. (c) He is absent from work in excess of five (5) working days without notifying his Employer unless such notice was not reasonably possible. (d) After a layoff, he fails to return to work within ten (10) calendar days after being notified by registered mail to do so, unless through sickness or other just cause. It shall be the responsibility of the employee to keep the Employer informed of his current address. (e) He is laid off and not re-employed within twelve (12) months.
Seniority During Absence. Except as provided in subsections (a) to (f), if an employee is absent from work because of sickness, accident, layoff or leave of absence approved by the Employer, he shall not lose seniority rights. An employee shall lose his seniority in the event: (a) he is discharged for just cause; (b) he resigns or otherwise voluntarily leaves his employment; (c) he is absent from work in excess of three (3) working days without notifying the Employer, unless such notice was not reasonably possible; (d) after a layoff he fails to return to work or to make satisfactory arrangements to do so within ten (10) calendar days of notice by registered mail being sent to his last known address; (e) he is laid off for a period exceeding twelve (12) months; (f) except in the case of illness or accident, he has not worked a shift for a period exceeding twelve (12) months. When an employee loses his seniority, his right to continued employment and/or to re-employment shall cease. In the event of re-employment, such person shall start as a new employee and his right to seniority and other benefits based upon his length of service with the Employer shall be calculated from his date of re- employment.

If an employee is absent from work because of layoff or leaves of absence approved by the Employer, he/she shall continue to accumulate seniority while he/she continues on lay-off or leave of absence for a period of up to 6 months.

Seniority During Absence. An employee shall lose all seniority and his/her employment shall be terminated for the following reasons: If such employee: (a) is discharged for just cause and is not reinstated pursuant to the terms of this Agreement; (b) is absent from work without leave for more than two (2) consecutive days, unless there was reasonable justification for such leave; (c) fails to report for work within seven (7) calendar days after being notified (d) by registered mail, provided that no employee shall fail to lose his seniority if failure to report when called is caused by sickness or accident, provided his supervisor is notified of such sickness or accident, provided further that such employee immediately upon his recovery shall report to the Corporation for work; (e) is laid off for a period of more than thirty-six (36) months.

He/she fails to return to work upon termination of an authorized leave of absence without reasonable proof for the cause of delay.
