Layoff and Rehiring Procedure a) Both parties recognize that job security shall increase in proportion to the length of service and ability; therefore, in the event of layoff, the employees shall be laid off in the reverse order of their seniority within the job classification in the department affected. A seasonal employee within a job classification in the department, will be laid off first, followed by regular part-time, or regular full-time employees in that job classification.
