Service Leave. On request, Employees with four or more years of service may, on one occasion only per fiscal year, be granted up to four (4) weeks unpaid leave of absence without loss of benefits.
Service Leave a. An employee shall be entitled to service leave of one week upon completion of each five year period of current continuous service. Current continuous service shall be deemed to include prior continuous service with another DHB (less any service period for which a period of service leave has already been taken or paid out). Such entitlement may be accrued.
b. Service Leave will be paid for each week of leave on the same basis as annual leave (16.0) in accordance with the Holidays Xxx 0000. This will be based on the employees FTE status at the time of taking the leave. Wherever practicable long service leave is to be taken in periods of not less than one week.
c. For the purposes of 23.0 (a) continuous service shall be recognised from 1 July 2004 unless the midwife had a previously Grand-parented provision.
d. For midwives with a previously Grand-parented scheme, the following shall apply. The midwife shall accrue the entitlement in accordance with clause 23.0 (a) above, with their service being deemed to commence, for the purpose of this calculation, on the date service was previously deemed to commence under the Grand-parented scheme. Any service leave actually taken, shall be deducted from that entitlement and the residue shall become the remaining entitlement. That shall be added to any further accrual, with the leave being taken in accordance with clause 23.0 (a) above.
e. In the event of the death of a midwife who was eligible for service leave but not taken the leave, any monies due will be paid to the deceased estate.
f. Leave without pay in excess of three months taken on any one occasion will not be included in the 5 year qualifying period, with the exception of Parental Leave.
Service Leave. For the period between September 11th, and October 10th, 2021 a participating state employee may receive four hours of paid administrative leave to perform qualifying volunteer service. The leave must be pre-approved by the employee’s supervisor and may only be used during normal working hours.
Service Leave. A leave may be granted to allow a certificated employee who is selected for a full-time position in the classified service to be on leave while acquiring permanent status in the new classification, provided that the certificated position can be discontinued or left unfilled or provided that a substitute replacement satisfactory to the head of the appropriate administrative unit is available. When permanent status is achieved in the classified service, the employee shall return to or resign from the certificated non-management position, or the certificated management position, from which on leave. However, the employee’s seniority and tenure rights are secured to a certificated non-management position, for which the employee is qualified, during the period the employee occupies a position in the classified service.
Service Leave. A leave of absence, without pay, of up to two (2) years will be granted to any teacher with professional status who joins the Peace Corps or serves as an exchange teacher, and is a full-time participant in either of such programs. Upon return from such leave, a teacher will be considered as if he/she were actively employed by the Xxxxxx School Department during the leave and will be placed on the salary schedule at the level he/she would have achieved if he/she had not been absent.

18-01 All members of the Service, with the exception of those whose job classification currently exceeds Grade 16, shall receive additional time off, with pay, in accordance with the following schedule: Five to nine (5 to 9) years completed service (5 hours) Ten to fourteen (10 to 14) years completed service (10 hours) Fifteen to nineteen (15 to 19) years completed service (15 hours) Twenty to twenty-four (20 to 24) years completed service (20 hours) Twenty-five to twenty-nine (25 to 29) years completed service (25 hours) Thirty or more years completed service (30 hours) For clarity, calculation of service leave entitlement shall include all continuous and unbroken permanent and temporary service with the employer.
18-02 Any employee who leaves the Service after completing five (5) years service shall be entitled to receive a proportionate part of the Service Pay which would have been allotted to him/her for the calendar year in which he/she terminates his/her employment.
18-03 In the event an employee is absent without pay (excluding absences for pregnancy/parental leave) for any period in excess of one calendar month in any calendar year in which the employee is qualified to receive Service Leave, such leave be pro-rated on the basis of one- twelfth (1/12) for each calendar month worked during that year. 18-04 A meal allowance of twelve dollars ($12.00) shall be paid to members of the Service who have served eleven (11) or more hours of continuous duty on an eight (8) hour tour of duty or have served thirteen (13) or more hours of continuous duty on a ten (10) hour tour of duty, and such allowance shall be paid for each successive three (3) hours of overtime of continuous duty. 18-05 All members of the Service, including recruits, attending training courses requiring overnight accommodations at a recognized police college or a course certified by a recognized police college shall receive $100.00 per week for each week in attendance or $20.00 per day for attendance of less than one week. This amount is also to cover any entitlement for any overtime travel to or from the recognized police college.
