Cafeteria Staff. A. Each member of the cafeteria staff shall be permitted to submit vouchers not to exceed $150.00 per school year for the purchase of clothing uniforms or shoes. This shall be deemed the clothing uniform allowance for these employees.
B. Cafeteria Workers will start each year with the same number of hours as the previous year. In the event that hours need to be changed, any upgrade in hours will go into effect immediately, any decrease will be subject to a thirty (30) day grace period.
C. The cafeteria staff shall be evaluated by the building administration in consultation with the Food Service Director.
Cafeteria Staff. 1. To insure the safety of the cafeteria staff, a communication device (e.g. FCC approved 2-way radio) will be made available for each school cafeteria coded with their respective building frequency. The employee shall keep the device with him/her from the time he/she arrives in the building until other cafeteria workers report to work.
2. If the schedule of the cafeteria staff allows, substitute work shall be offered to the building’s cafeteria staff on a building seniority basis. If no building cafeteria staff are available then substitute work shall be offered to the district cafeteria staff on a seniority basis. Any substitute work that remains unfilled less than 48 hours prior to the scheduled opening may be filled by the supervisor in his/her sole discretion.
Cafeteria Staff. 17.1 Cafeteria personnel will be offered overtime for work performed beyond their regularly scheduled workday or for evening, sporting or holiday banquet activities on a seniority rotation basis. Should these employees decline to work the overtime, it shall be offered to all cafeteria personnel before assignment to substitute personnel. The employee shall have the requisite skills required to perform the banquet or extra duty assignment.
17.2 On days when the senior high school/middle school is on an adjusted schedule because of final examinations and students are in attendance, the cafeteria personnel may be reduced in total hours by the Cafeteria Supervisor or Superintendent. Cafeteria personnel will be given the option, based on seniority, whether they will work or not on these adjusted schedule days so long as the hours established are met. If the required hours are not met by the employees’ options, then the Cafeteria Supervisor will make the determination.

Cafeteria Staff. A. Use of school kitchens shall be as follows:
1. One annual Claymont Foundation Awards Banquet
2. One annual Lions Club Pancake Breakfast
3. One annual Academic Awards Banquet
4. One time every other year for OHSAA District Wrestling Tournament (even years) Cooks who are eligible for overtime on a rotating seniority basis based on hours worked under this provision shall have the overtime paid at a blended rate based on all hours worked under this provision. All hours worked under Section “A” only shall be paid at ten dollars ($10) per hour. Duties under Section “A” shall be limited to kitchen supervision.
B. When events not listed in Section “A” use school kitchens for cooking purposes, a cook, who is a member of the bargaining unit, must be offered the opportunity to perform the work on a rotating seniority basis at their regular rate of pay.
1. Cooks shall be paid their regular hourly rate when employed for the above purpose and shall qualify for Overtime if time exceeds the forty (40) hour week.
Cafeteria Staff a. The District agrees to provide two (2) replacement uniforms (any four (4) units) each year to cafeteria staff. All Cafeteria staff employees will be required to wear the uniforms provided to them by the District.
b. Uniforms are to be worn by all personnel.
c. District reserves final determination of styles and colors.
Cafeteria Staff. A. When the kitchens are used by various groups, for cooking purposes, a cook certified in food safety must be employed.
B. Cafeteria workers shall be paid their regular hourly rate when on duty for the above purpose and qualify for overtime if the employee has exceeded working eight (8) hours in a day or forty (40) hours that week, as defined in this Agreement.
C. When a Head Xxxx is absent from work, the next qualified cafeteria worker in line of seniority from the kitchen, will act in his/her place. The employee filling the Head Cook position shall assume and perform the duties required of the Head Cook and be paid the higher rate from the first day of absence of the Head Cook and paid the higher rate until the Head Cook returns.
D. When a cafeteria worker is absent for an extended period of time, one (1) week or more, cafeteria staff shall have the absent workers position by seniority. The substitute employee, if necessary, shall replace the least senior cafeteria staff member.
E. An annual allowance of $200.00 will be paid to employees for the purpose of purchasing shirts, pants, and "non-skid" shoes. Reimbursement will be conditioned upon proof of purchase (i.e., receipt) that must be submitted to the Supervisor within the current school you are submitting (ie: July 1 2021 to June 30, 2022). The uniform including non-skid shoes, must worn during the performance of their work. The district will also provide two (2) serving aprons per person and one (1) annually here after for all kitchen employees. These serving aprons must be worn at all times working on the serving line. If the district provided apron is not worn while serving food, the employee will be subject to disciplinary action.
F. When the beginning of school is delayed, the serving time shall be adjusted to give cafeteria employees sufficient time to prepare meals.
Cafeteria Staff. When school is closed due to inclement weather, cafeteria staff are not expected to report to work, however, they shall be compensated as a day worked. When school is closed early due to inclement weather or other emergency, they shall be paid their normal daily pay.
Cafeteria Staff. Assigned hours on days when school is open for students plus any additional days requested by the Board. On days an employee works four hours or more, this shall include lunch. Changes to an employee’s working hours shall be subject to mutual agreement whenever possible.
Cafeteria Staff. At no point will a supervisor fill in and perform the duties of an absent head cook or food service worker, unless the skills needed to perform this work or services are unavailable or cannot be obtained in a reasonable time by another bargaining unit employee. When a Cafeteria Staff employee is asked to fill in for another employee, the replacement employee shall follow the schedule of the employee being replaced.
