Sick Leave During Leave of Absence and Layoff. When an employee is given paid vacation or special paid leave of absence, he/she shall receive on his/her return to work sick leave credit for the period of such absence. When an employee is laid off on account of lack of work for a period of time which is less than the period stipulated in the Clause 21.03 governing the retention of seniority on layoff and returns to work upon expiration of such layoff, he/she shall not receive sick leave credit for the period of such absence, but shall retain his/her accumulative credit, if any, existing at the time of such layoff.

  • Leave of Absences A leave of absence, subject to the College’s discretion may be granted for a minimum of one term’s absence. All requests for a planned leave of absence from the College, for one term or more, must be submitted in writing to the relevant Head of School for approval at least one full term in advance of the commencement of the leave.
