Sick Leave - Maternity. Maternity leave shall not exceed six months provided that such leave may be extended for permanent employees if a physician certifies that a longer convalescence period is required. Such extensions shall be subject to the provisions of this section governing sick leave without pay.

Sick Leave - Maternity. Adoption and Parental leaves. The Employer will notify the Union in writing of the following:
Sick Leave - Maternity. An employee may utilize accumulated sick leave during any period of illness related to a pregnancy and/or related to the delivery of the child. If such employee shall have exhausted accumulated sick leave, the employee shall be granted a leave of absence without pay or other benefits during such period of illness provided, however, that such disability leave shall not exceed one (1) year in duration. Such employee shall return to employment immediately following the termination of such illness. Should the employee not choose to request a leave of absence, the employee may elect to access the Family Medical Leave Act, Section 4-1 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Sick Leave - Maternity. 6.8.1 In the event of sickness or injury resulting from complications of pregnancy, the employee shall be entitled to sick leave, with pay, provided that the sickness or injury is verified by the attending physician.

A Cabin Attendant who is declared fit for duty after the block bidding period has ended shall be awarded flights from any available open flights and/or a reserve block. If any reserve days must be applied to the schedule, the Cabin Attendant will be considered a reserve blockholder as per article B9.
Sick Leave - Maternity. An employee is entitled to use accrued sick leave for maternity regardless of the type of delivery or results of pregnancy if the provisions specified in the following paragraphs, inclusive, are fully complied with. If, after exhausting her accumulated sick leave, an employee requires additional time off from work, accumulated vacation shall be granted. If additional time is required, leave without pay may be granted by the District if it is considered to be justifiable. Sick leave for maternity may be taken for six (6) weeks or until released by a physician to return to work. The decision as to when such leave begins or ends shall be made by the employee with the approval of the supervisor, accompanied by the approval of the employee’s personal physician or physician designated by the supervisor. Sick leave for maternity shall not be used for infant care or for the conditions of pregnancy which do not incapacitate the employee for duty. Pregnancy shall not jeopardize an employee’s job or seniority except for time spent on leave without pay. She shall be responsible for reporting the pregnancy as soon as it is an established fact so that steps may be taken to protect the employee’s health or modify her working conditions and in order that the necessary staffing adjustments may be planned. The failure to report for assignment at the expiration of a maternity leave shall be considered as a resignation. In every case, an employee shall submit a written report from her physician to the supervisor as to the anticipated dates of absence and a second report stating that she is physically able to return to work as of a given date. This Article shall be automatically amended to conform to Federal guidelines to the extent such guidelines now or in the future exceed these benefits, to include but not limited to the Family Medical Leave Act.

  • Sick Leave The employee is eligible for long term disability benefits if provided for in the Collective Agreement. An employee will not receive pay for the first two (2) weeks of any period of absence due to a legitimate illness. The employee may utilize the paid holiday bank as income replacement for absences due to illness, as described in Article (c) above. An employee who is eligible may apply for Employment Insurance for weeks three (3) through seventeen (17) for any absence due to a legitimate illness. The Home will provide the employee with Disability Income Protection as per Article 14.01 (c) for weeks eighteen (18) through thirty (30) for any absence due to a legitimate illness. Employees may be required to provide medical proof of illness for any absence of a scheduled shift, which is neither vacation nor an approved leave of absence.

  • Sick Leave Days Subject to paragraphs d) i-vi below, permanent full-time Teachers will be allocated eleven (11) sick days at one hundred percent (100%) salary in each school year. Teachers who are less than full-time shall have their sick leave allocation pro-rated.
