SICK LEAVE PAYMENT UPON SEPARATION. Employees shall be allowed, as a bonus payment, a percentage of unused sick leave upon voluntary termination from COUNTY service according to the following schedule, up to a maximum payment of two thousand dollars ($2,000.00). Employees who retire from COUNTY service shall be allowed, as a bonus payment, a percentage of unused sick leave according to the following schedule, up to a maximum payment of two thousand five hundred dollars ($2,500.00). For purposes of this provision, to "retire" means that the subject employee has taken all necessary steps to implement a CalPERS retirement.

SICK LEAVE PAYMENT UPON SEPARATION. A. Any employee, at the time of separation, shall be eligible to receive a cash payment equal to the value of fifty percent (50%) of his/her accumulated but unused sick leave credit. B. The calculation of sick leave shall be made on the basis of each eligible employee’s regular daily base rate of compensation at the time of separation. Excluded from such calculations shall be shift differentials, all premium payments, regularly scheduled overtime and all other forms of additional or supplemental compensation. C. Sick leave pay shall be given only to those who have given the Employer written notice, on such forms as may be prescribed, sixty (60) days prior to the date of separation. D. The receipt of sick leave pay shall eliminate and forever cancel all future claims to all sick leave accumulated but unused by the employee at the time of separation. The payment of sick leave pay shall be made only once to any employee.

SICK LEAVE PAYMENT UPON SEPARATION. Upon separation, service retirement, disability retirement, or termination, a Unit member shall be eligible to receive a cash payment for accrued sick leave in the “Bank” in an amount equivalent to straight time, to a maximum of ninety-six (96) hours. In addition, beginning the tenth (10) year of continuous City service, all hours accrued in the “Bank” shall be eligible for conversion to cash in an amount equivalent to thirty percent (30%) of such unused sick leave upon separation. Beginning with the 11th year of City service, Unit members may convert fifty (50%) percent of the value of the total amount of their sick leave bank upon separation, to either Deferred Compensation, or the Retiree Health Savings, if available. Any cash payments made in accordance with this section shall be computed based upon the employees' final compensation rate and shall be paid within one payroll period of the effective date of separation. Public Safety employees are currently eligible for Sick Leave conversion up to 90% of the sick leave bank to CalPERS credit as members of CalPERS safety pool.
SICK LEAVE PAYMENT UPON SEPARATION. A. Upon resignation in good standing of an employee, sick leave shall be paid as follows: i. Employees that have five (5) or more years of continuous employment with the City who do not meet all the requirements to receive a pension from a State of Minnesota public employees pension program on the date of separation from employment with City, shall receive a maximum of one-third (1/3) of their unused accumulated sick leave in cash. ii. Employees who meet each of these requirements: (i) has five (5) or more years of continuous employment with the City; (ii) whose date of hire was before January 1, 2008; and (iii) meet all the requirements to receive a pension from a State of Minnesota public employees pension program on the date of separation from employment with the City, shall receive one hundred percent (100%) of their unused accumulated sick leave as a contribution to their Retirement Health Reimbursement Arrangement (RHRA) if they enroll in the City-sponsored RHRA. No sick leave will be paid to employees covered by this provision who do not enroll in the City- sponsored RHRA. iii. Employees who meet each of these requirements: (i) has five (5) or more years of continuous employment with the City; (ii) whose date of hire was on or after January 1, 2008; and (iii) meet all the requirements to receive a pension from a State of Minnesota public employees pension program on the date of separation from employment with City, shall receive one-third (1/3) of their unused accumulated sick leave as a contribution to their RHRA if they enroll in the City-sponsored RHRA. No sick leave will be paid to employees covered by this provision who do not enroll in the City-sponsored RHRA. B. Upon death while employed with the City, employees that have five (5) or more years of continuous employment with the City, shall receive a maximum of one-third (1/3) of their unused accumulated sick leave in cash. C. In converting unused accumulated sick leave as provided herein, the employee's base rate of pay at the time of death or resignation shall be used. D. Employees that do not meet the criteria established in the preceding paragraphs will not receive any payment for sick leave upon separation from employment. Section 10.4. Employees with the maximum accumulation of nine hundred sixty (960) hours sick leave will be allowed up to 96 hours additional over the 960 hours maximum per calendar year, accounting of days used and earned made as of December 31. SICK LEAVE PAYMENT UPON SEPARATION. An employee, upon separation from the City shall be paid up to 1440 hours of accumulated sick leave based upon the following schedule: A. After 10 years of service 50% of accumulated sick leave. B. An additional 5% will be added for each year of service thereafter until 100% is reached at 20 years of service. C. In the case of death of an employee, 100% of the employee’s unused sick leave shall be paid to the employee’s beneficiaries.

  • Sick Leave Incentive The City will institute a sick leave incentive based on the usage of the bargaining unit; further, the City will pay each person who qualifies during January of each year. The incentive will be calculated and monitored by the Personnel Department and will be based on the pay periods during a calendar year. The incentive shall be awarded only when the bargaining unit's average sick leave usage is less than the City average and the following conditions are met: When the bargaining unit's sick leave usage is greater than forty (40) hours but less than the City average, the City will pay each member using between zero (0) and sixteen (16) hours of sick leave, eight (8) hours pay and any member using more than sixteen (16) but equal to or less than twenty-four (24) hours, four (4) hours pay. When the bargaining unit's average sick leave usage is equal to or less than forty (40) hours, the City will pay each member who used between zero (0) and sixteen (16) hours, sixteen (16) hours of pay at their current hourly rate. Those members who used more than sixteen (16) but equal to or less than twenty-four (24) hours, will receive eight (8) hours of pay.

  • Sick Leave Benefits Sick leave is an indemnity benefit and not an acquired right. A Nurse who is absent from a scheduled shift on approved sick leave shall only be entitled to sick leave pay if the Nurse is not otherwise receiving pay for that day, and providing the Nurse has sufficient sick leave credits.

  • Sick Leave Bonus ‌ For every six (6) months of perfect sick leave attendance after July 1, 1987, the employee will receive eight (8) hours of bonus time. This bonus time will be prorated for part-time employees. Such bonus time can be used for any leave purpose covered by this Agreement. Such bonus time shall be counted as vacation leave credits for purposes of determining eligibility for carry- over and cash payments.

  • Sick Leave Pay A Nurse granted sick leave shall be paid for the period of such leave at her or his regular hourly rate of pay and the number of hours thus paid shall be deducted from the accumulated sick leave credits of the Nurse.

  • Sick Leave Separation Cash Out At the time of retirement from state service or at death, an eligible employee or the employee’s estate will receive cash for their compensable sick leave balance on a one (1) hour for four (4) hours basis. For the purposes of this Section, retirement will not include “vested out of service” employees who leave funds on deposit with the retirement system.

  • Accrued 100% sick leave The use of sick leave under this subsection is at the employee's discretion.

  • SICK LEAVE WITH PAY Sick leave with pay for employees shall be determined in the following manner:

  • Sick Leave Payout No cash payment for unused sick leave will be paid to any employee leaving the service of the Employer.

  • Sick Leave Donation 10.3.1 A worker may donate days of sick leave to individual District workers who, due to a serious health condition, have exhausted all accumulated sick leave. Donating workers must retain a sixty (60) day balance of sick leave after their donation. No worker may receive more than 40 days of donated leave per year. 10.3.1.1 A “serious health condition” is defined as an illness, injury, impairment or physical or mental condition which involves inpatient care in a hospital, hospice, or residential health care facility, or continuing treatment or continuing supervision by a health care provider as defined in 29 USC 825.114(a) and as certified by a worker’s physician or other qualified medical practitioner. 10.3.1.2 The Vice Chancellor of Human Resources and the Chief Stewards by mutual agreement will verify the certification for eligibility. If the certification from the worker’s physician is insufficient, a certification by a physician of the District’s choosing may be required, at District expense. The District may require additional medical opinions. 10.3.2 Donated leave must be in one-day increments (no less than 8 hours). Recipients of donated sick leave shall be solely responsible for any state and federal taxes on the donated time. Such taxes shall be withheld at the normal rate for the recipient worker. In the event that the state or federal governments rule that tax liability is due other than as taxed, the recipient shall be solely liable for such liabilities. 10.3.2.1 The donated sick leave may be used only when the worker has exhausted accumulated sick leave and either is not eligible for long- term disability or is eligible but has not begun to receive the long-term coverage. 10.3.2.2 The Vice Chancellor of Human Resources shall be notified of solicitation of donations. Solicitations of donations may be made by the individual or his/her representative(s). 10.3.2.3 Donation of sick leave shall be authorized by a signed pledge form prepared by and filed with the District Office of Human Resources. In the event several workers donate sick leave, the sick leave shall be used in the order in which the signed pledge forms are filed with Human Resources. 10.3.2.4 If the worker does not use all donated sick leave, the sick leave shall be returned to the donating worker(s).

  • Vacation Leave on Retirement ‌ An employee scheduled to retire and to receive pension benefits under the Public Service Pension Plan Rules or who has reached the mandatory retiring age, shall be granted full vacation entitlement for the final calendar year of service.
