Sick Leave Payouts. An employee separating from Town service in good standing shall be entitled to a payment for unused sick leave on the following schedule: For separation after 15 years of service 50% of time accrued For separation after 10 years of service 40% of time accrued For separation after 5 years of service 20% of time accrued These allowances cannot be used to extend the separation date. Employees terminated involuntarily or who leave Town service in other than good standing shall not be entitled to the above sick leave payouts. Employees hired after July 1, 2007 shall not be entitled to this benefit. Qualified employees will be allowed to contribute sick leave payouts, as described above, into the 457 Plan, up to the maximum contribution permitted by the IRS.

Sick Leave Payouts. Upon retirement or death, the Town will pay fifty percent (50%) of unused sick leave that an employee has to his credit to the employee or the spouse as the case may be. In the event that the employee is not survived by a spouse, said unused sick leave payment shall be made to the employee’s estate. In the event an employee terminates his employment in good standing, having given advance notice of at least fourteen (14) calendar days, he shall receive twenty-five percent (25%) of his accumulated sick leave. Employees terminated for just cause shall receive no benefit under this Section. Notwithstanding the above, employees hired after May 1, 1997, shall upon retirement or death be eligible to receive from the Town payment for unused accumulated sick leave, not to exceed 960 hours in total. The payment shall be on the basis of an average of the last three (3) years of base salary for the employee. Employees who subsequently resign their employment with the Town shall not be eligible to receive payout of unused, accumulated sick time if they have less than ten
Sick Leave Payouts. 1. A pilot’s sick leave accruals will be paid out as provided in paragraphs 2 through 5 below. At the pilot’s option, the sick leave payout will be made in the form of a lump-sum or semi-monthly payment. The selection of a semi-monthly payout shall not establish an independent basis for the continuation of health benefits or sick leave accruals during the payout period.

  • Sick Leave Payout No cash payment for unused sick leave will be paid to any employee leaving the service of the Employer.

  • Sick Leave Pay A Nurse granted sick leave shall be paid for the period of such leave at her or his regular hourly rate of pay and the number of hours thus paid shall be deducted from the accumulated sick leave credits of the Nurse.

  • Sick Leave Payoff Employee with accrued, unused sick leave may, at the time of separation, select one of the following options for reimbursement:

  • Sick Leave Payment Any employee, at his/her option may choose to receive payment for sick leave earned during the year which is unused at the end of the year. Any such payment must be for the total number of unused sick leave hours earned during the year, must be based on the hourly rate of pay of the employee multiplied by 50 percent, and all hours for which payment is received must be deducted from the employee’s accumulated leave balance. Sick leave used during a current year will be charged against the most recently earned sick leave. Hourly rate of pay is the hourly rate at the end of the contract year.

  • Sick Leave Bonus For every six (6) months of perfect sick leave attendance after July 1, 1987, the employee will receive eight (8) hours of bonus time. This bonus time will be prorated for part-time employees. Such bonus time can be used for any leave purpose covered by this Agreement. Such bonus time shall be counted as vacation leave credits for purposes of determining eligibility for carry- over and cash payments.

  • Sick Leave Pool a. The Sick Leave Pool is intended to provide security to supplement other insurance benefits by allowing employees to "buy" insurance for extended illness, or other disability. Pool Days may be used to "make an employee whole" if disability or Workers' Compensation benefits are less than normal base pay. When "buying" Pool Days, employees convert Earned Time days on a 1:3 basis. Similar to purchasing insurance, the employee may pick a given number of days to exchange for coverage in case of extended disability.

  • Sick Leave Incentive Effective September 1, 1986, employees covered by this Agreement, hired on or after October 1, 1977, who are not entitled to disability leave under State Statute R.C.W. 41.26, shall be eligible for the following sick leave incentive program:

  • Sick Leave Benefit There are two types of sick leave benefits. Annual sick leave is the sick leave days credited each year to each employee in accordance with the provisions of the local collective bargaining agreements. Banked sick leave is previously accumulated unused sick leave to which unused annual sick leave may be added at the end of each anniversary year.

  • Leave Pay A. Fifteen (15) days of sick leave shall be credited to a school year employee after reporting for their first day of work. All unused sick leave and personal leave days from the current year will be added to the bank of sick days for the following year. All unused sick leave days in excess of ninety (90) days shall be returned to the employee at the end of the current school year on the basis of fifteen dollars ($15.00) per day.

  • Sick Leave Benefits Sick leave is an indemnity benefit and not an acquired right. A Nurse who is absent from a scheduled shift on approved sick leave shall only be entitled to sick leave pay if the Nurse is not otherwise receiving pay for that day, and providing the Nurse has sufficient sick leave credits.
