Social Leave. If a client is absent from the adult family home for recreational or socialization purposes (Social Leave), the State shall pay the provider the authorized rate for the client for up to eighteen (18) days Social Leave days per calendar year. Social Leave does not include absences for medical, therapeutic, or recuperative purposes.

Social Leave. The Contractor may be paid for social leave days but this is limited to no more than 18 days per calendar year. Social leave is defined as leave that is for recreational or socialization purposes, not for medical, therapeutic, or recuperative purposes. Whenever possible, the Contractor shall notify the Case Manager in advance when a Medicaid Client takes social leave. The Contractor is required to notify the Case Manager within one working day when a Medicaid Client takes social leave. The Contractor shall enter written justification of such absence in the Client’s record when a Client is absent for more than seventy-two (72) consecutive hours or more.

If the business circumstances so permit, the employer may grant leave with retention of monthly income for activities (extending over several days) which are socially useful (in the opinion of the employer) (for instance acting as a leader at a school camp). 2. The number of leave days as referred to in paragraph 1 equals half of the number of free days required for the activity. For the other half, the employee should take holiday hours or unpaid leave. The employer grants the employee a maximum of 20 hours of social leave per year. 3. The employee requests the social leave from the human resources department, submitting a request to this end from the social organization in question.

In the instances in clause 20.02, however, the requirement of sixty (60) days of service shall not apply. 20.02 In the event of the death of a postdoctoral fellow’s: a) spouse, child or spouse’s child, the postdoctoral fellow shall be entitled to a leave of five (5) consecutive working days; b) father or mother, the postdoctoral fellow shall be entitled to a leave of five (5) consecutive working days; c) father-in-law or mother-in-law, or spouse’s father or mother, the postdoctoral fellow shall be entitled to a leave of three (3) consecutive calendar days; d) brother, sister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, xxxxxx’s brother or sister, the postdoctoral fellow shall be entitled to a leave of three (3) consecutive calendar days; e) grandparent or grandchild, the postdoctoral fellow shall be entitled to a leave of two (2) consecutive calendar days; f) son-in-law, daughter-in-law, uncle, aunt, xxxxx or nephew, the postdoctoral fellow shall be entitled to a leave of one (1) calendar day. In all instances, the postdoctoral fellow may add banked vacation days or leave without pay of up to fifteen (15) days to this leave period. If the death of a postdoctoral fellow’s spouse, child, father, mother or spouse’s father or mother occurs during their vacation, they may interrupt their vacation provided they notify their supervisor promptly. The vacation days in question shall be deferred to either the end of the postdoctoral fellow’s vacation or a later date, as agreed with the supervisor.
Social Leave. A Research Associate, or a Regular Research Assistant 1 hired on a full time or part time basis, or a Research Assistants 2 hired on a full time or part time basis, who has completed sixty (60) actual worked days is entitled to the following leaves without loss of regular Salary or rights in accordance with the stipulations of this article. For Part−time Research Associates or Regular part-time Research Assistants 1 or part-time Research Assistants 2, the payment of leaves in this article is granted on a pro rata basis.

Social Leave. Bereavement leave 16.01 Employees may be absent from work for: a) seven (7) calendar days, two (2) of which are paid leave, in the event of the death or funeral of their spouse, child, spouse’s child, father or mother, brother or sister; b) three (3) calendar days, without pay, in the event of the death or funeral of their son-in- law, daughter-in-law, grandparent, grandchild, as well as the father, mother, brother or sister of their spouse. 16.02 Employees are entitled to one (1) additional day of leave without pay if the funeral is taking place more than two hundred and forty (240) kilomètres away from employees’ place of residence. 16.03 Employees may use one (1) of the leave days provided in subsection 16.01 non-consecutively to attend the interment or cremation. 16.04 Employees may, on arrangement with the Employer, add to the leave provided in cluase 16.01 accrued vacation leave and/or leave without pay not exceeding ten (10) working days. 16.05 If a death provided for in subsection 16.01 occurs during employees’ vacation, employees may suspend their vacation, provided they immediately advise their research lead or their immediate supervisor. Unused days from such suspended vacation leave are deferred to the end of employeesvacation period. 16.06 In all cases, employees shall advise the Employer of their absence as promptly as possible and, at its request, shall provide proof or confirmation of the events. 16.07 With at least four (4) weeks’ notice, employees are entitled to: a) one (1) day leave with pay on the day of their marriage or civil union; b) one (1) day leave without pay on the day of the marriage or civil union of their child, their father, their mother, their spouse’s brother, sister or child. 16.08 On arrangement with the Employer at least four (4) weeks in advance, employees may add banked vacation leave of up to ten (10) working days to the leave provided in subsection 16.07.

MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING STATE OF WASHINGTON AND THE ADULT FAMILY HOME COUNCIL (AFHC) MEANINGFUL HOME-BASED ACTIVITIES PILOT PROJECT In accordance with parties 2015-2017 Collective Bargaining Agreement, Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) M-1, the State of Washington Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) agreed to develop a Meaningful Home Based Activities Pilot (pilot) Project designed to serve clients who experience behaviors of significant frequency and intensity (measured by a behavior point score of twelve [12] or more) and/or have a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia coupled with a level of cognitive impairment and behaviors where a targeted approach to service planning and inclusion of meaningful day activities will improve quality of life and continuity of care. The pilot project is intended to create proactive and individualized strategies to engage participating and eligible residents in meaningful day activities designed to refocus behavior, improve health and reduce stress and anxiety. Providers who participate will receive a daily add-on rate when they engage in developing and implementing a person-centered Meaningful Activities Plan (MAP) for each resident which includes individualized goals for daily activities and redirection of behaviors. Per the MOU, the parties met, bargained and agreed to the following:
