A. Step One – Department Resolution. Within fourteen (14) calendar days of the occurrence (or knowledge of the occurrence or when the grievant reasonably should have known of the occurrence) of a situation, condition, or action which caused the grievance, the employee(s) affected, the shop xxxxxxx, and/or the Union representative shall present the written grievance to the appropriate supervisor for resolution. The written grievance will include a description of the issue being grieved, including the relevant facts, the contract section(s) alleged to have been violated, and the remedy sought. The parties shall meet and attempt to resolve the grievance within fourteen (14) calendar days of the time the grievance is filed. The Department shall provide a written response within fourteen (14) calendar days of the actual meeting date, or in the event no meeting occurred, within twenty-eight (28) calendar days from when the grievance was filed. If the Department fails to provide a written response, the grievance shall be deemed automatically moved to Step 2.

Within thirty (30) calendar days of the occurrence of a situation, condition or action which caused the grievance the employee(s) affected and/or the shop xxxxxxx and/or Union representative shall orally present the grievance to the employee's immediate supervisor for resolution. In the event a given grievance is directed against the employee's immediate supervisor, said grievance may be presented to the next higher level of supervision. Every effort shall be made by all parties to resolve the grievance at this level. For purposes of clarification, the supervisor may ask the employee to put his/her grievance in writing. If a satisfactory settlement is not reached within fourteen (14) calendar days following the date of presentation to supervision, and the employee wishes to pursue the matter further, the employee may submit the grievance as provided in Step 2. Step Two: Written Presentation To Xxxx Or Director. At step 2, the grievance shall be reduced to writing and be submitted to the Xxxx or Director of the unit, with a copy to the Director of Employee Relations, and to the supervisor within (14) calendar days following the time period provided for resolution in step 1. Steps of Grievance Procedure. The following constitutes the sole and exclusive method for resolving grievances between the parties covered by this Agreement, and shall be followed in its entirety unless any step is waived by mutual consent.
(a) The grievant or PBA shall institute action under Step One within 30 calendar days of the commencement of the actual occurrence of the grievance, or within 30 calendar days of the actual or implied knowledge of the commencement of the occurrence of the grievance, and an xxxxxxx effort shall be made to settle the differences between the employee or the aggrieved employees, the PBA on behalf of the employee or the PBA on behalf of itself and the Chief of Police for the purpose of resolving the matter. Failure to file a grievance within said 30 calendar days shall be deemed to constitute an abandonment and/or waiver of the grievance.
(b) Said grievance shall be in writing and submitted to the Chief of Police.
(c) The parties involved shall meet to review the grievance at a convenient time and place within five (5) working days of receipt of the grievance by the Chief.
(d) The Chief of Police and/or his/her designee may render a written decision within five (5) working days after discussion of the grievance. Failure to provide a written decision shall entitle the PBA and/or grievant to proceed to Step Two.
(a) In the event the grievance has not been resolved in Step One, the grievant or the PBA, shall in writing, file the grievance with the Borough Administrator within five (5) working days following the determination in Step One. Failure to file shall be deemed as an abandonment of the grievance.
(b) The grievant and the PBA shall meet with the Borough Administrator to discuss the grievance, and said discussion shall take place at a convenient time and place for all parties within five (5) working days after submission of the grievance to the Borough Administrator.
(c) The Administrator and/or his/her designee shall render a written decision within five (5) working days after discussion of the grievance. Failure to provide a written decision shall entitle the grievant and/or PBA to proceed to Step Three.
(a) In the event the grievance has not been resolved at Step Two, the grievant and/or PBA shall in writing, file the grievance with the Public Safety Committee within five (5) working days following the determination at Step Two. Failure to file shall be deemed as an abandonment of the grievance.

Steps of Grievance Procedure. All grievances shall be processed in accordance with the following procedure: Alternative resolution method. Any time during the grievance process, by mutual consent the parties may use alternative methods to resolve the dispute. If the parties agree to use alternative methods, the time frames in this Article are suspended. If the selected alternative method does not result in a resolution, the Union may return the grievance process and the time frame resume. Any expenses and fees of the alternative method will be shared equally by the parties.
Steps of Grievance Procedure. (a) A grievance must be presented within 15 working days after the occurrence of the event on which the grievance is based. A grievance concerning a continuing practice may be presented at any time.
(b) Except as provided in Section 2(d), a griev- ance by an employee shall be first taken up between the employee and the immediate supervisor. This discussion may be with the assistance of the employee’s designated Asso- ciation representative. The supervisor shall render a decision within 10 working days. Should additional time be necessary, the supervisor shall so notify the employee and an additional 5 working days will be allowed.
(c) If no satisfactory settlement is reached in (b) above, the grievance shall be reduced to writ- ing within 15 working days of the receipt of the immediate supervisor’s decision and will include the following information:
1. The employee’s name, position title, grade, and organizational unit;
2. A specific detailed statement of the nature of the grievance;
3. A summary of the previous steps taken and the results of those steps;
Steps of Grievance Procedure. A grievance must by filed within ten (10) school days of the occurrence of which the grievant complains or ten (10) school days of the date when the grievant or Association had reasonable opportunity to be aware of said occurrence. The Association shall initiate the formal grievance procedure by delivering a copy of a grievance form to the Executive Director, Administrative Services.
1. Step One. Within five (5) school days of receipt of the written grievance, the Executive Director, Administrative Services shall meet with the grievant in an effort to resolve the grievance. The principal or supervisor shall indicate the disposition of the grievance in writing within five (5) school days of such meeting, and shall furnish a copy thereof to the grievant and/or Association representative and to the chairman of the Association Grievance Committee.
