Union Membership and Union Dues. 5.01 All employees of the Association covered by this agreement shall as a condition of employment, become and remain members in good standing of the Union according to the constitution and by-laws of the Union.
Union Membership and Union Dues. 4.01 As a condition of his/her employment, every employee under this Agreement shall be a member of the Union. Newly hired employees shall have ninety (90) days in which to fulfill this condition. An employee shall be presumed to have fulfilled this condition except in the case of loss of membership for the nonpayment of regular dues. It shall be a condition of employment, for the duration of this Agreement, that all employees within the bargaining unit as defined in Article 2, who are subject to the provisions of this Agreement and who have been on the payroll for a full week of forty (40) hours, shall pay by means of payroll deductions a weekly assessment equivalent to Union Dues.
4.02 The Company shall deduct from the wages of every employee the initiation fees and regular dues for which he/she is obligated to the Union and shall remit the same to the Union. It shall be the responsibility of the Union to advise the Company of such obligations and no employee shall lose or be refused membership in the Union of non-payment of regular dues if the Union has not specifically advised the Company of such obligations. The Union shall save the Company harmless from any cost whatsoever resulting from any dispute as between any employee or employees and the Union as to the validity of obligations in respect to dues. All monthly dues and statements will be remitted to the Financial Secretary of the District Lodge of the Union by the fifteenth (15th) day of the month following the month in which the deductions were made. The Company will, at the time of making each remittance hereunder to the Financial Secretary of the Union, supply a statement showing the following information from whose pay deductions have been made.
(a) All monthly dues for members to be submitted in alphabetical order with current address, postal code and Social Insurance Number;
(b) MONTHLY - New members to be listed in alphabetical order with current address, postal code, Social Insurance Number, date of hire and starting salary.
(c) The Company further agrees that it will supply all such information by way of electronic mail ( e- mail) and a hard copy, if so requested by the Union.
(d) Terminations or resignations to be listed in alphabetical order with current adc?-ess,. postal code and date of termination or resignation.
4.03 The Employer will show the amount of the dues deducted on T-4 slips issued to Employees.

Union Membership and Union Dues.
23.1 The parties hereto agree that all employees covered by this Agreement shall become members of, and maintain membership in good standing in the Union as a condition of employment.
23.2 Membership in the Union shall be available to any employee eligible under the constitution of the Union upon payment of initiation or reinstatement fees uniformly required of all other such applicants by the Union.
23.3 New employees shall become members of the Union the date they commenced employment and shall maintain membership as a continuing condition of employment, inclusive of the probationary period.
23.4 As a requirement of employment of every employee under this Agreement, the Company shall deduct the amount of Union dues from their wage, monthly, and shall remit the
23.5 The amount to be deducted will be advised by the Union in writing to Human Resources Department, no later than thirty (30) days prior to any changes. The Company will be notified in writing by the Union official as to where to remit such withheld dues.
Union Membership and Union Dues. 4.01 All employees covered by this Agreement shall, as a condition of employment, maintain their union membership and be required to pay union dues and other amounts chargeable by the Union or Bargaining Unit.
4.02 All future employees of the Board covered by this Agreement shall, as a condition of continued employment, become Members of the Union on commencing employment with the Board.
4.03 On each pay date on which a Member receives a pay cheque the Board shall deduct from each Member the Union Dues chargeable by the Union or the Bargaining Unit. The amount (a percentage of wages) shall be determined by the Union, or the Bargaining Unit as the case may be, in accordance with its constitution and by-laws and made, in writing, to the Board at least thirty (30) days prior to the expected date of change.
4.04 The Union dues deducted in article 4.03 shall be remitted to the Treasurer of the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation, at the Head Office of the Union, no later than the twenty-fifth (25th) day of the month following the month in which the deductions were made. Such remittance shall be accompanied with the following information on each Member:
a) surname and first name, b) social insurance number,
Union Membership and Union Dues. (a) Membership in the Union is not compulsory and is voluntary and shall comply with all State and Federal Regulations. The Board agrees to provide the Local Union and xxxxxxx(s) a list of all unit employees in seniority order, which will include the employee’s school assignment, classification, shift, address, phone number, district email and pay rate for all current and newly hired employees within three (3) calendar days after the end of each month in which an employee is hired.

(a) The Employer shall deduct from every member of the bargaining unit, for each pay period for which an employee receives a pay cheque, an amount equal to the regular dues as levied by the Union from time to time. Should the Union change the amount of regularly required dues during the term of this Agreement, it shall notify the Employer in writing by mail of any duly authorized changes, and such changes shall take effect in the month following the month in which they were received by the Employer.
(b) Dues deducted in accordance with Article 6.01 (a) shall be forwarded to the Director of Financial Administration of the Union, 000 Xxxxxxx Xxxx, Xxxxx Xxxx, Xxxxxxx, not later than the 15th of the month following the month of the dues being deducted. The first payment shall be accompanied by a list of names of the employees from whose pay the dues have been deducted.
(c) All employees in the bargaining unit will be required to pay the union dues whether or not the employee wishes to seek Union membership. However, no employee shall be required, as a condition of employment, to become a member or continue to remain a member of the Union.
6.02 The Employer agrees to include the annual total of dues deducted on the T4 Slips of each employee affected by this Article.
6.03 The Union will indemnify and save the Employer harmless against any and all claims, suits, judgements, attachments and from any form of liability that may arise out of any action taken or not taken by the Employer for the purposes of complying with any of the provisions of this Article.

Union Membership and Union Dues. 5.01 Neither the Employer nor the Union will compel employees to join the Union. The Employer will not discriminate against any employee because of Union membership or lack of it and will inform all new employees of the contractual relationship between the Employer and the Union.
5.02 The Union agrees that it shall make membership in the Union available to all employees covered by this Agreement.
5.03 The Union has a policy for employees who cannot support the Union due to conscientious objection. Any request for conscientious objector status must be made, by the employee, in writing to the Union and will be decided in accordance with the Union’s policy.

6.2 The University deducts from every employee's salary for each pay period any regular or special fee established by the Union or the Bargaining Unit. Before the date on which a new union fee or new rate comes into effect, the Union or the Bargaining Unit sends a written notice at least thirty (30) calendar days before the implementation of the new union fee. Deductions are made as of the employee's first (1st) pay period.
6.3 The University will send all regular dues that have been deducted to the Union treasurer at the following address: OSSTF, 00 Xxxxxx Xxxxx, Xxxxxxx. Ontario, M4A 2P3 by the fifteenth (15th) day of the month following the month during which the dues were deducted. Such remittance is accompanied by a list identifying: − surname and given name, − employee number, − annual base salary, − amount deducted for the period, − total amount deducted since January 1 of the current year, − grade of position, − full-time equivalent (FTE) of the person, − home address, − uOttawa email address, − preferred language of correspondence, − seniority date in a regular position if the person holds a regular position or first date of continuous employment if the person holds a term employment contract, − faculty or service and department, − INTRA address, − effective date of employee's departure, if applicable.
6.4 The list is sent in the appropriate electronic format. An electronic copy of the list is also be emailed to the President of the Bargaining Unit at the address provided to the University.
6.5 The University will send to the treasurer of the Bargaining Unit at SSUO, 000 Xxxx Xxxxxx Xxxxxx, Suite 200, Ottawa, Ontario, K1N 6N5 any special dues deducted by the fifteenth (15th) day of the month following the month during which the fees were deducted.
