Union Membership and Union Dues. 5.01 All employees of the Association covered by this agreement shall as a condition of employment, become and remain members in good standing of the Union according to the constitution and by-laws of the Union.

Union Membership and Union Dues. 4.01 As a condition of his/her employment, every employee under this Agreement shall be a member of the Union. Newly hired employees shall have ninety- (90) days in which to fulfill this condition. An employee shall be presumed to have fulfilled this condition except in the case of loss of membership for the non- payment of regular dues. It shall be a condition of employment, for the duration of this Agreement, that all employees within the bargaining unit as defined in Article 2, who are subject to the provisions of this Agreement and who have been on the payroll for a full week of forty- (40) hours, shall pay by means of payroll deductions a weekly assessment equivalent to Union Dues. 4.02 The Company shall deduct from the wages of every employee the initiation fees and regular dues for which he/she is obligated to the Union and shall remit the same to the Union. It shall be the responsibility of the Union to advise the Company of such obligations and no employee shall lose or be refused membership in the Union of non-payment of regular dues if the Union has not specifically advised the Company of such obligations. The Union shall save the Company harmless from any cost whatsoever resulting from any dispute as between any employee or employees and the Union as to the validity of obligations in respect to dues. The Employer shall submit to the Secretary-Treasurer of the District Lodge the amount of Union Dues deducted, along with a list of employees from whom the dues were deducted and the amount deducted from each employee. This list shall show new hires, sick and disabled, WSIB and terminations and along with the dues deducted shall be sent to the Secretary-Treasurer by the 20th of the month following the month in which the dues were deducted. The Union shall notify the Company of any changes in the regular Union Dues or Initiation Fee or any other fees, a minimum of fifteen- (15) days before the increase is to take effect. The Union will also notify the Company of the name and address of the District Lodge Secretary-Treasurer, for all remittances. 4.03 While membership in the Union is a condition of employment (with certain exceptions), the only basis on which the Company may be required to take disciplinary action under this condition shall be loss of membership for failure to pay initiation fee or regular dues. Union Membership and Union Dues. ‌ 23.1 The parties hereto agree that all employees covered by this Agreement shall become members of, and maintain membership in good standing in the Union as a condition of employment. 23.2 Membership in the Union shall be available to any employee eligible under the constitution of the Union upon payment of initiation or reinstatement fees uniformly required of all other such applicants by the Union. 23.3 New employees shall become members of the Union the date they commenced employment and shall maintain membership as a continuing condition of employment, inclusive of the probationary period. 23.4 As a requirement of employment of every employee under this Agreement, the Company shall deduct the amount of Union dues from their wage, monthly, and shall remit the 23.5 The amount to be deducted will be advised by the Union in writing to Human Resources Department, no later than thirty (30) days prior to any changes. The Company will be notified in writing by the Union official as to where to remit such withheld dues.

Union Membership and Union Dues. 5.01 Neither the Employer nor the Union will compel employees to join the Union. The Employer will not discriminate against any employee because of Union membership or lack of it and will inform all new employees of the contractual relationship between the Employer and the Union. 5.02 The Union agrees that it shall make membership in the Union available to all employees covered by this Agreement. 5.03 The Union has a policy for employees who cannot support the Union due to conscientious objection. Any request for conscientious objector status must be made, by the employee, in writing to the Union and will be decided in accordance with the Union’s policy.

However, no employee shall be required, as a condition of employment, to become a member or continue to remain a member of the Union. 6.02 The Employer agrees to include the annual total of dues deducted on the T4 Slips of each employee affected by this Article. 6.03 The Union will indemnify and save the Employer harmless against any and all claims, suits, judgements, attachments and from any form of liability that may arise out of any action taken or not taken by the Employer for the purposes of complying with any of the provisions of this Article.

Union Membership and Union Dues. 6.1 All employees who are members of the Bargaining Unit shall be members of the Union as a condition of employment. 6.2 The University deducts from every employee's salary for each pay period any regular or special fee established by the Union or the Bargaining Unit. Before the date on which a new union fee or new rate comes into effect, the Union or the Bargaining Unit sends a written notice at least thirty (30) calendar days before the implementation of the new union fee. Union Membership and Union Dues. ‌ (a) Membership in the Union is not compulsory and shall comply with all State and Federal Regulations. The Board agrees to provide the Local Union and xxxxxxx(s) a list of all unit employees in seniority order, which will include the employee’s school assignment, classification, shift, address, phone number, district email and pay rate for all current and newly hired employees within three (3) calendar days after the end of each month in which an employee is hired. (b) If payroll dues deductions for bargaining unit employees becomes lawful during the term of this contract, the Board shall make such deductions to the extent permitted by applicable law and in accordance with the parties' 2012-2014 contract at Section 4.4b. If the legal changes require additional or distinct contract language, the parties agree to immediately enter negotiations to secure a compliant provision. The Union agrees to indemnify and hold the Board harmless from any claim, suit, cause of action or judgment, including attorney fees, which may result from Board’s deduction of union dues or fees. The board will not collect any representation benefits fees nor shall the Board enforce compliance with Agency Shop provision. (c) The business agents and/or xxxxxxx or their designee shall be permitted during the first 7 days of employment of a new employee to meet with privately with each new employee to talk about the benefits of a Union Contract and Union membership. Such a meeting may occur during work hours and may last up to 20 minutes. (d) The Business agents and/or xxxxxxx or their designee may schedule two (2) additional opportunities per year to meet with new employees on school property to discuss the benefits of a Union contract and Union membership. Such additional meetings will be scheduled through the Facilities Director for room access and must occur after work hours.
