Training/Staff Development. The district shall offer training and/or staff development programs for those teachers involved with inclusion to enable the teacher to implement the IEP.

The Provider shall utilize only the trainers certified by the Department to conduct mandated reporter training. Providers must provide documentation that the mandatory staff trainings have occurred for all employees. Additionally, Providers shall maintain documentation of training assessments and plans, training curricula, attendance sheets and evaluation forms. This documentation will be reviewed during on-site quality reviews. The Provider is expected to adhere to and ensure that all staff adheres to continuing education and training in accordance with professional licensing requirements, professional standards or best practice guidelines of their profession. Additionally, staff shall maintain a knowledge base and skill set consistent with issues and techniques central to working in the area of children and adolescent behavioral health. The Provider is strongly encouraged to attend and/or have representation at the quarterly Credentialed Provider Meetings.

Staff will receive training appropriate to their position and responsibilities to enhance their work with children and youth in ways that promote positive interactions and maintaining safety when working with children and youth. Training will be verified through review of written documentation of trainings including, but not limited to, training assessments and plans, training curricula, attendance sheets, and evaluation forms during on- site-based quality reviews. The Provider is strongly encouraged to attend or have representation at the quarterly Credentialed Provider Meetings.

The Provider is required to participate and have orientation and in-service training for all staff providing services to children and youth that includes, but is not limited to, the following: program philosophy, policies, practices, and procedures; HIPAA; confidentiality; and mandated reporting. The Provider shall only utilize trainers certified by the Department to conduct mandated reporter training or complete the Connecticut Mandated Reporter Training for Community Providers course online at: xxxx://xxx.xxxxxxxx.xxx/training/course/?title=connecticut-mandated-reporter-training-community-providers. The training needs of all staff will be assessed routinely. Staff will receive training appropriate to their positions and responsibilities to enhance their work with children and youth in ways that promote positive development. Training will be verified through review of written documentation of trainings including, but not limited to, training assessments and plans, training curricula, attendance sheets, and evaluation forms during on-site-based quality reviews. The Provider must attend or have representation at a minimum of one Credentialed Provider Meeting annually.

The Provider is expected to adhere to and ensure that all staff adheres to continuing education and training in accordance with professional certification or licensing requirements, professional standards or best practice guidelines of their profession as well as maintaining a knowledge base and skill set consistent with issues and techniques central to working with children or youth with self-injurious, dangerous or disruptive behaviors and who have been identified with a Level III Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED) and with their families and other caregivers. . The Provider is strongly encouraged to attend or have representation at the quarterly Credentialed Provider Meetings.
