Unscheduled Absence. The following notification standards shall be used to determine whether an absence is scheduled or unscheduled, for purposes of determining an employee’s attendance record:
Unscheduled Absence. Notwithstanding the above, if an employee has an unscheduled absence the day after they have worked overtime such overtime hours shall be paid at the employee's regular pay rate (straight time). The number of hours subject to the straight time pay rate will be equal to the number of hours of the unscheduled absence unless the Fair Labor Standards Act requires overtime pay at the time and one-half rate. A scheduled absence, for the purposes of this section, is leave that is requested and approved at a minimum during the employee's work period preceding the work day for which the employee is requesting time off or while working the day following a day in which overtime was worked, requests and is granted leave subject to workload requirements as determined by the employer.
Unscheduled Absence. The following notification standards shall be used to determine whether an absence is scheduled or unscheduled:
A. Absences of less than five (5) days — unscheduled if taken with less than forty-eight (48) hours advance notice.
B. Absences of five (5) days or longer — unscheduled if taken with less than fourteen (14) days advance notice. Unscheduled time off will be considered excessive if it occurs more than six (6) times during a year or more than three percent (3%) of the employee’s work time.
Unscheduled Absence. An employee whose absence is unscheduled must notify his/her immediate supervisor as early as possible but at least one (1) hour prior to his/her starting time for the first day that the employee is unable to report for work unless extenuating circumstances make a full hour’s notice impractical. In such cases, the employee must notify his/her immediate supervisor as early as practical.
Unscheduled Absence. All instances when a staff member is scheduled to come to work and does not, except as noted above in the list of exemptions. Each day or partial day of unscheduled absence is considered individually, except that consecutive days of absence from one or more consecutively scheduled work shifts will be considered collectively as one unscheduled absence when supported by a physician’s note. For example, a three (3) day illness is counted as three (3) unscheduled absences unless supported by a physician’s note. If a physician’s note is provided, the unscheduled absences would count as one (1) unscheduled absence. A twelve-month attendance review period commences when the grace period for unscheduled absences has been exceeded.
Unscheduled Absence. A. Definition. Unscheduled absences are any absences from work that are not requested and approved in advance.
B. PSE Responsibilities. PSEs are expected to maintain their assigned schedule and must make every effort to avoid unscheduled absences. In addition, PSEs must provide acceptable evidence for absences when required.
Unscheduled Absence. If during a 24 pay period cycle the employee has six (6) or more occurrences of unscheduled absences, the Employer will discontinue the program for the nurse. This does not include absences due to approved FMLA, FCA, maternity or low census hours.
Unscheduled Absence is the absence of a Resident from Resident's regular assigned duties because of unforeseeable circumstances, including, but not limited to illness, jury duty, court appearances, or bereavement leave. An extended absence will be considered unscheduled through the end of the current curriculum cycle or for two weeks, whichever is longer.
Unscheduled Absence. Regular attendance at work is an essential requirement for all employees and it is the employee’s responsibility to report to work on time. Excessive absenteeism, frequent unexcused absences, reporting to work late, or failing to notify a supervisor of a late arrival or an unscheduled absence prior to the start of a work shift, are unacceptable, without good cause, and may result in disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal.
A. An employee who is unable to report for work must notify the designated xxxxxxx of the reason(s) for the absence prior to the start of the scheduled shift as promptly as the available means of communication permit.
B. Supervisors may excuse unscheduled absences arising from reasons beyond an employee’s control provided such absences are infrequent.
C. At the Company’s discretion, a doctor’s certification may be required for any absence due to a single illness or injury that exceeds three (3) calendar days. The expense of such medical certification will be the responsibility of the employee.
Unscheduled Absence. An absence from scheduled work, generally with less than twenty-four (24) hours’ notice, for which the employee gave neither advance notice nor received supervisory approval.
