W ork Year. The work year is defined by two semesters; fall and spring.
W ork Year. 19.11.4.1 The SDC Preschool Program is based upon a full-time teaching assignment equivalent to certificated bargaining unit members in the K-12 program.
19.12 Early Childhood Education programs are intended to be financially self-sustaining programs contingent upon state and federal funding sources and sufficient enrollment. The District shall not be required to use general fund monies to support the Early Childhood Education Programs.
W ork Year. 011 The work year for a bargaining unit member shall consist of one hundred eighty-four (184) days, divided as follows:
W ork Year. The minimum number of workdays for the Principal of the School is 200 days. These days should be scheduled by mutual agreement between the Principal and the Superintendent. It is understood that the Principal will be available beyond normal work hours for meetings with the School Committee, central administration, or School Council in addition to school functions or other activities at the request or direction of the Superintendent.
W ork Year. Chief Business Officer shall be required to render twelve (12) months of full and regular service to the District with no less than two-hundred twenty-six (226) days of service during each school year.
W ork Year. The term Work Year for custodians, groundskeepers, 12-month secretaries, and maintenance workers, used in this Agreement will mean twelve (12) months in length and is based on the total number of days available to work, ranging from 260 to 262 depending on the calendar year. For food service workers it will be the days school lunch is served plus two (2) additional days. School secretaries contracted for nine (9) months work not less than 192 days. Instructional/Staff Aides and Health Assistants shall be scheduled to work the hours/days students are present or when other work is assigned, but not less than the number of student days which are calendared on the first day of the school year, which currently is 180 days. Effective with the 2020-2021 school year, Bus Drivers, Food Service employees, Health Assistants and Instructional Aides will have two additional days added to their schedule to support site based professional development for a total of a 182 days. For the purposes of this article only, Instructional Aides/Health Assistants and Food Service personnel may elect time off without pay on instructional days when no students are present during the regular school year. Such time off without pay must be approved by the Building Administrator or Food Service Director in advance, and could be denied if the Administrator/Director determines a need for services on those days.

W ork Year. 7.2.1 Generally the "10 month" teacher work year for returning teachers would be up to 187 days scheduled between September 1 and June 30 in conjunction with the OCM instructional calendar. This constitutes an additional day beyond previous calendars and is intended to be used as a staff development day. Up to 3 additional days over the 187 day work year may be used to expand on teacher professional development (in-service, conferences, program, superintendent conference days, etc.) and not to increase student contact time, as recommended by the Professional Staff Development Committee.
7.2.1.1 Newly hired teachers are expected to participate in a one-day district orientation during the week prior to the opening of school, thus giving them up to a 188 work year.
7.2.2 Once the District has satisfied all the legal mandated days of session, the K-8 students will not be in attendance for up to two days of June Regents Week.
7.2.2.1 The first day without K-8 student attendance shall be the fifth day of June Regents Week.
7.2.2.2 The second day without K-8 student attendance shall be the fourth day of June Regents Week.
7.2.2.3 End-of-year schedules for the high school students remain the same.
W ork Year. Effective with the 2001-2002 school year, the work year shall be identified as 1,466 hours. The parties have discussed and agreed upon the following contract clarification and changes in wording:
