Wellness Day. In the spirit of promoting wellness em- ployees will be eligible for one day of paid time off that can be earned per fiscal year (from May 1 – April 30). An employee earning a day may use it at anytime during the next fiscal year with approval of their Department Head. A Wellness Day cannot be rolled over into future years and must be taken in a full day increment. In order to earn a Wellness Day an employee must accomplish the standards outlined in the Employee Handbook.
Wellness Day. Regular full-time employees who are in active pay status for thirteen consecutive pay periods, and who achieve a record of zero sick leave or sick/FML usage during this period, will be entitled to 8 hours of vacation or Wellness Day. The use of up to six hours of sick or sick/FML leave during such a thirteen consecutive pay period will not disqualify an employee from receiving a Wellness Day. The Wellness Day will be credited to the eligible employee's vacation leave account at the end of the thirteen consecutive pay periods.
Wellness Day. All Association members shall be granted one (1) day of wellness leave each school year, equal to the number of hours regularly worked, in addition to accrued leave as provided in 401.2. Members are encouraged to use this day for annual check-ups and other personal/family wellness appointments. Wellness leave shall be scheduled by mutual agreement of the employee and the principal/supervisor. Such leave will all be utilized in one (1) day and shall not carry over beyond the end of the fiscal year. Wellness leave may not be used on the scheduled workday preceding a holiday or on the scheduled workday following a holiday.
Wellness Day. A wellness day may be granted for employees who meet the criteria below. No sick leave used from July 1- December 31 equals 1 day off January 1 – June 30. No sick leave used from January 1-June 30 equals 1 day off July 1- December 31.
a. Wellness days shall not be carried over: day must be used in designated time frame or it is lost.
b. Wellness day shall be taken in full day increment
c. Wellness day shall not be taken during the first full week of school or the first week returning from winter break.
d. Wellness day shall not be taken the last two weeks of school.
e. The person requesting a wellness day will submit the request in writing to his or her principal or supervisor at least three (3) days prior to the absence. In case of an emergency, the teacher taking the wellness day will notify his or her principal/supervisor as soon as possible and then file a written request within forty-eight (48) hours after the teacher returns to work. Every special education teacher will get 1 day per nine weeks to work onsite on paperwork. This day will not count against the employee.
Wellness Day. An employee will be entitled to one (1) day per year as a Wellness Day. This leave will be deducted from the employee’s sick leave entitlement; therefore the employee must have leave available before they are eligible to take this leave.
Wellness Day. A full-time employee who does not use a sick day in six (6) consecutive months, except for preventive visits to the doctor or dentist of up to four (4) hours, shall receive one (1) wellness day. Wellness days will be tracked by supervisors for compliance. Wellness days must be used within thirty (30) days from the end of the period in which it was earned. No month within this period can be applied to earn additional wellness days. Wellness days are not accruable and will be forfeited if not used in the specified time frame. Part-time employees shall receive pro-rated wellness days.
Wellness Day. 5.4.1 Subject to the operational requirements of the employer, each employee is entitled to take one day of sick leave per annum as a wellness day (pro rata for part-timers) provided that the employee notifies the employer at least one week before the entitlement is to be taken.
Wellness Day. Employees can take one day of sick leave every 12 months as a wellness day. The use of this day is at the employee’s discretion though the timing must suit the operational needs of the employer and the employee must give reasonable notice. This one day is debited against the employee’s sick leave entitlement and is non- accumulative.
Wellness Day. A Wellness Day is a proactive wellness initiative, whereby staff can use one day per annum for rest and relaxation. This one day is debited against the employee's sick leave entitlement and is non-accumulative. Should a day not be used it remains as a sick leave entitlement. An employee who is using a "Wellness Day" must where possible provide 3 days' notice to the employer to ensure impact to the business is minimised.
Wellness Day. Unit members shall be granted one (1) Wellness Day each fiscal year. The Unit member shall give his/her supervisor a minimum of 2 days written notice prior to taking a Wellness day. If the day is not used it shall not carry forward to the next fiscal year.
