Work Attendance. Evidence of jury duty attendance must be presented to SHS. The employee should continue to report for work on those days or parts of days when excused from jury duty or when jury duty does not conflict with their schedule.
Work Attendance. Employees on court leave shall report for work before or following such leave if one (1) or more hours remain in the employee’s scheduled workday, unless the employee has chosen to take a preapproved leave of absence.

Work Attendance. It is recognised by all parties to this Agreement that daily attendance at work (including for the purpose of working supplementary hours when required) is a basic requirement of the employment relationship at SMC. In this regard, absences from work should only be for genuine sick leave and/or other approved reasons and the parties accept the appropriate management of such absences in accordance with the SMC Corrective Counselling procedure.

Day shift employees will be required to report to work if their jury service ends on any day in time to permit at least four (4) hours work in the balance of their regular shift. Other shift employees will not be required to report for work on any day that they have performed jury service for more than one-half (1/2) day. When requested by the employee, night shift employees will be scheduled off the shift ending on the day of their jury duty.
Work Attendance. The employee, in-school, work day shall consist of not more than eight (8) hours of consecutive time. Included in the eight (8) hours will be the following: 1. The Board recognizes the importance of flexibility in maintaining a healthy and positive working environment and will provide a 20 minute duty-free paid lunch period. All support personnel will receive one 10-minute break. 2. The district and association will not tolerate support staff personnel who do not complete their assigned shift (arriving late and/or leaving early) without prior approval from their immediate supervisor. When an employee’s sick leave and/or vacation time is used up, the first offense will result in a written warning, the second a three-day unpaid suspension, and third in termination of employment. Exceptions to the working hours may be approved by the building principal or supervisor with advance notice to the building principal or supervisor. Exceptions of these provisions may be made by mutual agreement of the employee and the building principal or supervisor.
