Xxxxxxxxx Leave. A Certified Staff will be granted a maximum of five (5) days of paid Paternity Leave for the birth of a child per school year. Paternity Leave starts the day the child is born and these five (5) days must be taken consecutively during days when Certified Staff are present. Paternity Leave will be deducted from sick leave. Leave bank may also be used.
Xxxxxxxxx Leave. If the Association determines that the investigation or processing of any grievance requires that a bargaining unit member or an Association representative be released from his/her regular assignment, he/she shall be released without loss of pay or benefits.
Xxxxxxxxx Leave. A parenting leave of absence without pay shall be granted upon request to an employee who becomes the parent of a child by childbirth or adoption. The leave may be for up to six (6) weeks during the period from one (1) month prior to childbirth or adoption to six (6) weeks after, provided, however, any period of incapacitation as documented by a physician shall be excluded in computing either six week period. The leave may be extended up to six (6) months at the option of the Employer, if requested by the employee. An employee may also use accumulated Paid Leave and compensatory time in conjunction with the unpaid leave under this paragraph, and may use accumulated Extended Sick Leave during the period of the employee's disability due to childbirth.
Xxxxxxxxx Leave. 1. Severance pay will be a one-time, lump sum payment to eligible retired teachers. A teacher’s eligibility for severance pay will be determined as of the final date of employment. All the below criteria must be met:
a. The teacher retires from the Georgetown Exempted Village school system and retires from all other public employers who are under a state retirement system in which the teacher has retirement credit.
b. The teacher must be eligible for disability or service retirement as the last date of employment.
c. The teacher must within 120 days of the last day of retirement prove acceptance into the retirement system(s) by having received and cashed his/her first retirement check(s).
d. The teacher must have not less than ten (10) years of service with Georgetown Exempted Village school district.
e. Prior to receiving a severance check, the teacher must attest that all eligibility criteria have been met.
2. The amount of the benefit due an employee shall be calculated by:
a. Multiplying the teacher’s accrued but unused cumulative sick leave up to two hundred twenty (220) days by one-third.
b. Multiplying the product times the per diem rate of pay appropriate for that teacher’s placement of the salary schedule.
3. Xxxxxxxxx Leave. U Every unit member shall be entitled to use up to three (3) personal leave days per school year for any personal reason except for the extension of a school holiday or vacation.
1. To utilize this provision, a unit member must complete the District's personal leave form at least five (5) days in advance of the leave day requested.
2. Unit members will be compensated at 40% of their daily rate. Personal Leave shall be deducted from the employee's pay warrant in the next appropriate payroll cycle pending payroll verification of leave.
3. The decision on whether to approve or disapprove the date of the requested leave rests exclusively with the unit member's immediate supervisor. For consistent application of this provision, an immediate supervisor may consult with the Superintendent or designee. However, denial of such leave shall not be based upon reasons, which are arbitrary or capricious.
Xxxxxxxxx Leave. A parent who did not give birth may use sick leave upon the birth of a child for up to three (3) weeks immediately after the birth of the child.
Xxxxxxxxx Leave. 16 1. After fifteen (15) years of teaching experience, each employee shall receive one
17 (1) longevity leave day per year, non-accumulative and non-transferable, to be 18 scheduled at the employee's discretion and subject to the limitations agreed herein
21 2. Employees, at their option, may cash out unused Longevity Leave at the rate of 1 22 day at the current substitute pay rate. Xxxxxxxxx Leave. An employee who has successfully completed the probationary period 16 of employment may be eligible for a parenting leave. The District may grant a leave of 17 absence without pay for parenting purposes for up to one (1) year in duration. The 18 District may condition the scheduling of this leave to minimize substantiated disruption of 19 the educational program. 20
Xxxxxxxxx Leave. It is agreed that the District shall grant parenting leave to all professional staff who qualify under the following provisions:
1. Except in cases of emergency, parenting leave must be requested in writing by the applicant at least thirty (30) calendar days prior to the date the leave is to commence. Request for parenting leave must be accompanied by a doctor’s certificate verifying pregnancy in the household.
2. All parenting leave granted by the District shall be without pay. Parenting leave shall only address leave in regard to the birth of a child.
3. Sick leave benefits accrued will be retained during the duration of parenting leave and shall be maintained upon renewal of employment as specified in paragraph 7. Individuals commencing their parenting leave during the school year shall continue to have their sick leave accumulated up to the time the leave is to take effect.
4. All medical insurance benefits shall be retained during the duration of parenting leave.
5. Seniority benefits shall be retained during parenting leave and will be maintained upon renewal of employment by the District as specified in paragraph 7. Placement on the salary step upon renewal of employment in the same school year shall be at the same step the individual was on at the commencement of the leave. However, individuals that have worked a minimum of 90 school days during a school year in which parenting leave takes place shall be placed on the next highest step for which they are eligible upon renewing their employment with the District the following school year.
6. Parenting leave will not be granted for a period beyond 120 calendar days following the commencement of the leave. However, this period may be extended for another 30 calendar days at the sole discretion of the School Board and upon receiving such a written request by the leave recipient.
7. In order to preserve continuity of instruction, the Board may delay renewed employment to coincide with the beginning of a marking period provided such delay will not deprive the leave recipient in meeting the 90-day requirement specified in paragraph 5. Request for re- employment must be submitted not less than 20 days prior to termination of parenting leave.
8. The District will have discharged its entire responsibility under this section by honoring a written request for re-employment from the leave recipient within the time limits established in Paragraph 6. If a written request for re-employment is not made within the t...
