Admissions Criteria. All students entering Career Online High School must be at least 16 years of age prior to the first day of class and have successfully completed the 8th Grade at an accredited institution. Admissions Criteria. In order to access and sustain medical alternative education provision under section 19 of the Education Act 1996, the following admissions criteria apply: ⮚ The pupil is a Solihull resident; ⮚ Referrals are only accepted from schools; ⮚ Pupils must have significant medical needs that, temporarily, cannot be supported by their usual school. This includes complex, severe or persistent mental health needs, supported by multi-disciplinary teams providing a range of therapeutic interventions (Tier 3 Solar CAMHS); ⮚ Referrals must have appropriate supporting medical evidence from a Senior Clinical Psychologist, Consultant Psychiatrist, Associate Specialist Psychiatrist, Community Paediatrician or Hospital Consultant; ⮚ Medical evidence from a GP will only be considered in exceptional circumstances e.g. where there would be a considerable delay caused by waiting times to obtain specific medical evidence from a consultant. In such cases, the GP would need to include full details of specialist referrals made to appropriate senior clinicians; ⮚ The medical evidence is clearly based on a recent clinical appointment with the child present; ⮚ The school is able to demonstrate in the referral that they have implemented and evaluated a range of interventions and reasonable adjustments; ⮚ The school has fully discussed the referral with parent or carer. The inclusion of parental details and their accompanying signature indicates that the home school has discussed the referral and implications with the parent who has consented to the referral being made; ⮚ Pupils, supported by their family, continue to access and engage with the appropriate clinical treatment / support to aid the management of their condition or recovery whilst receiving alternative education provision; ⮚ Priority will be given to Looked after Children who meet the above admissions criteria. • Assess each referral on a case by case basis; • Make educational provision for individual pupils, ensuring continuity; • Provide direct teaching, individually or in groups, to pupils with significant health needs as agreed at the initial meeting; • To undertake appropriate educational assessments to ensureindividual pupil needs are met; • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of provision for individual pupils and support the school in the development of an appropriate and sustainable reintegration plan; • Ensure entry of pupils for external examinations where appropriate; • Support and advise schools on the impact...
Admissions Criteria. 1. The CTHSS will evaluate its admissions criteria to determine whether they have the effect of disproportionately excluding persons with disabilities. a. This evaluation will include a detailed comparison of the application versus admissions rates for students with and without disabilities. This evaluation will consider all CTHSS admissions criteria that are used, or that CTHSS may be considering for use. This assessment shall consider such criteria individually and in combination with one another, and shall include but not be limited to past academic performance, records of disciplinary infractions, interest inventories, standardized tests, and statements of interest. This evaluation must be conducted by an individual or group of individuals with the expertise necessary to perform this task. CTHSS will ensure that such individual(s) is provided with all information the individual(s) identify as necessary to conduct the assessment. 2. If this evaluation indicates that any admissions criteria (individually or in combination) have the effect of disproportionately excluding students with disabilities from admission, then CTHSS will stop using these criteria for admissions (or, if such criteria are not currently in use, CTHSS agrees to not use in future admissions). The only exception to this requirement is detailed in Term 3 directly below. 3. CTHSS may only use any criteria identified in Term 2, above, if it also demonstrates, through an evaluation, that (i) such criteria have been validated as essential to participation in a CTHSS program, and also (ii) there are no equally valid criteria that do not have such a disproportionate adverse effect on students with disabilities. This evaluation must be conducted by an individual or group of individuals with the expertise necessary to perform this task. CTHSS will ensure that such individual(s) is provided with all information the individual(s) identify as necessary to conduct the assessment. 4. CTHSS specifically acknowledges that the validation standard in Term 3(i) – “such criteria have been validated as essential to participation in a CTHSS program” – is different than a validation standard of “predictive success” or similar. Admissions Criteria. A. Students intending to attend MSU immediately after GRPS graduation need a letter of recommendation from a GR Community Teacher Program staff member. This letter must provide evidence of their readiness to handle the academic challenges at MSU. While participation in the GR Community Teacher Program does not guarantee admission to MSU, students must select a major in the College of Education for preferred admissions consideration. B. Students apply to the baccalaureate program using the MSU Office of Admissions application form. Students apply when applications open each fall on Nov. 1.
