Contractual Employees. Full time faculty working a standard 175.5 day contract shall be entitled to ten (10) days of paid sick leave each academic year. Full- time faculty working extended year calendars shall earn sick leave at the rate of .25 day for each additional week of paid service beyond 175.5 days. Part time contractual employees shall be entitled to sick leave proportionate to that of a full-time employee for a full academic year. For example, a part-time contractual faculty with a 60% academic year assignment shall be entitled to six (6) days sick leave; a part-time contractual faculty with a 60% one-semester assignment shall be entitled to three (3) days sick leave.
Contractual Employees. Contractual employees are special purpose non-covered employees who do not occupy a full time permanent position, and who perform a variety of special duties which are contracted on an individual basis, including but not limited to special activities and leisure time services. Contractual employees are not represented under the terms and conditions of this agreement.

For example, a part-time contractual faculty with a 60% academic year assignment for such employees shall yield be entitled to six (6) days sick leave; a part-time contractual faculty with a 60% one-semester assignment shall yield be entitled to three (3) days sick leave.

Due to the inability of Brown County Community Unit School District #1 to secure the services of some specific qualified professional employees such as Speech/Language Therapists on the current salary schedule, appropriately qualified personnel may be employed by the Brown County School District CUSD#1 at a starting salary independent of the current salary schedule. Personnel employed under this stipulation will receive the same commensurate salary increases and benefits as the other teachers in the collective bargaining agreement for the duration of the contract. They will also be expected to provide their specialized services during the regular school year and any necessary summer services at no additional cost to the district. This includes completion of all necessary paperwork, preparation for and attendance at necessary staffing and parent meetings, and delivery of specialized services to district students. They will also be required to comply with the district’s work rules and conditions of employment that apply to the district’s licensed employees.
