Crossings. Where utility corridors must cross shoreline jurisdiction, such crossings shall take the shortest, most direct route feasible, unless such a route would result in loss of ecological function, disrupt public access to the shoreline, or obstruct visual access to the shoreline.

Crossings. A. No additional vehicular crossings (including temporary haul roads) or pedestrian crossings over Railroad's trackage shall be installed or used by Contractor without the prior written permission of Railroad. B. Any permanent or temporary changes, including temporary traffic control, to crossings must conform to the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and any applicable Federal Railroad Administration rules, regulations and guidelines, and must be reviewed by the Railroad prior to any changes being implemented. In the event the Railroad is found to be out of compliance with federal safety regulations due to the Contractor’s modifications, negligence, or any other reason arising from the Contractor’s presence on the Railroad’s property, the Contractor agrees to assume liability for any civil penalties imposed upon the Railroad for such noncompliance.

Crossings. Other public utilities such as sanitary sewer, storm sewer, gas, electric, and cable lines may be installed in the Easement as long as they do not interfere with the Distributor’s rights and as long as the utilities are crossing the water pipeline(s) at right angles, or at substantially right angles. Any gas or electric, or cable line that crosses the water pipeline(s) and is not metallic or concrete shall be encased within steel conduit and/or concrete ducts.

Winter Stream Crossings Voltage employees will follow Manitoba Hydro’s Construction EPP mitigation requirements (PC-1.29) and Ice thickness Chart regarding winter stream crossings. Voltage will ensure: ▪ Staff are trained and adhere to Manitoba Hydro’s Construction Environmental Protection Plan mitigation (PC-1.29) requirements and the Ice thickness Chart; ▪ Ice thickness and quality testing will occur at regular intervals. Signage clearly identifying test results will be made available at each crossing location; ▪ Access points will be limited to one entry and one exit point and conform to the natural topography as much as possible to avoid the need for cutting or filling of stream banks; ▪ Crossing limits will be clearly identified to ensure safe travel; ▪ No equipment, fuels or fluids will be left on the ice at any point. The only exception will be a portable water pump if additional flooding is necessary; ▪ Portable water pumps used for flooding will be placed in a means of secondary containment to catch any potential release of hazardous fluids in the event of accidental release; ▪ Suction hoses used on water pumps will be equipped with mesh screening to prevent debris; and ▪ All temporary bridge installations, snow fills and ice bridges will be removed prior to spring breakup. Material and Staging Yards Potential environmental impacts associated with Material and Staging Yards will be assed and mitigated by: ▪ Ensuring all required landowner clearances have been established; ▪ Yards will be assessed and placed in locations that are outside of any environmentally sensitive areas; ▪ Yards will be a minimum of 100 m away from all wetland/watercourses; ▪ Yards will be located within previously disturbed areas or pa...
Crossings. There are two cattle “wet” crossings and one watering access point, both of which are reinforced with angular rock to reduce impacts riparian area. A light load bridge acts as a cattle crossing to the west 40 pasture, however it cannot support heavy equipment. Therefore, the rocked low water crossing is used when heavy equipment is needed in the west pasture, which happens infrequently. - The Permittee will maintain the crossings to ensure they are useable for cattle while minimizing impacts to the stream for the term of the Agreement. The Permittee will follow conditions stipulated in its existing LSAA permit. -Cattle have access to water via water access lanes, ponds, ditches, and/or water troughs which restrict access and reduce adverse impacts to the riparian area, which will be maintained by the Permittee for the term of the agreement and no other instream sources are deemed necessary.

Crossings. The Trust’s maintenance responsibilities at public highway grade crossings include all protective devices and extend to eighteen (18) inches outside the outermost rail on each side of the Track Structure. In the case of double track crossings, the Trust’s responsibility also includes the area between the tracks if the tracks are separated by less than thirty (30) feet between the centers of the Track Structures. Nothing in this Agreement shall relieve the Trust of any of its responsibilities under applicable federal and state laws and regulations relating to the operation of trains over and through highway grade crossings.
Crossings. Whenever Work under the Contract involves construction activities that require the Contractor’s employees, agents, Subcontractors, equipment and/or materials to cross or temporarily occupy railroad, gas or other utility properties and tracks, the Contractor shall secure and maintain in his own name the types of insurance in the minimum amounts as required by owners of such properties issued by companies satisfactory to the Owner and the owner of such properties.
