Department Chair Responsibilities. The Department Chair’s primary responsibilities are the integrity of the curriculum content and facilitating communication among department faculty and the divisional administration. The basic duties and responsibilities of all Department Chairs include: i. in cooperation with the other full-time faculty in the department (if applicable), maintain and update official course documents and maintain sample course syllabi and other course materials. ii. maintain list of adopted textbooks, stay aware of new editions, coordinate process for textbook adoption when necessary. iii. coordinate (in collaboration with division APCC representative) activities needed to add, revise, or delete courses from the catalog; serve as a resource for APCC when needed. iv. conduct/coordinate meetings between faculty of the department and faculty in other divisions, as needed to ensure that courses appropriately support the needs of associate degree programs. v. coordinate activities related to internal annual department review or self-study. vi. coordinate activities related to providing support for external accreditation for College programs and/or College-wide accreditation. vii. assist with activities related to transfer of credits, advanced standing and course test-out. viii. provide recommendations to the division xxxx and/or associate deans(s) regarding course scheduling including: annual and semester (or mid- or mini-xxxxxx) course offerings, numbers of courses and sections each semester (or mid- or mini-xxxxxx), and assigned courses for full-time faculty in the applicable program. ix. assist in recruiting adjunct instructors, and review resumes, interview, and recommend for hiring all new adjuncts. x. provide recommendations to the division xxxx and/or associate xxxx(s) regarding assigned courses for adjunct faculty. xi. serve as a curriculum/course content resource person for adjunct instructors, including orienting new adjunct instructors to course content and applicable course/department guidelines or standards. xii. serve as first point of contact for student concerns/complaints related to adjunct instructors in their department and assist in resolving adjunct instructor/student disputes. (Note: in any case of a student complaint about a full-time faculty member, the department chair will refer the student to Division administrators.) xiii. assist in the evaluation of adjunct instructors, particularly in cases where recurring problems or deficiencies have been noted. ...

Department Chair Responsibilities. The Department Chair (or designee, such as section chief or division head), with the support of the UWSOM/UWSOD and the participating sites, shall provide clinical and research programs of sufficient quality and duration, to ensure that residents who successfully complete the graduate medical education program will be qualified to enter into the specialty and subspecialty board examination and certification process. This provision assumes that all training program activities will be conducted within the requirements of the ACGME, ABMS, CODA and/or applicable accrediting and certification bodies.
Department Chair Responsibilities. 3.2.1 The appointment process and compensation for Department Chairs are considered a part of this contract. However, in no way shall the duties of the Department Chair be negotiable or grievable under the terms of this contract. 3.2.2 A job description outlining the assigned duties and responsibilities of the Department Chair will be provided to an elected or appointed Department Chair at the beginning of the new term of office as defined in 3.3. This job description is public information and shall be made available to any individual who requests it. 3.2.3 The Administration will create and provide a training program for first-time Department Chairs and continuing administrative development opportunities for current Department Chairs. All Chairs shall participate in this ongoing training. Initial Chair training for new Chairs will be held before the end of Summer term in odd-numbered years.

The list of Departments eligible for Department Chairs is listed in Appendix H in this Agreement. This role will include the following functions: 1. Working collaboratively with principals, teachers, instructional leadership specialists, pupil services leaders, and directors/supervisors to improve instruction. 2. Elementary Department Chairs will decide with the principal each month which content area to attend based on the needs of the school. 3. Conducting Department Chair meetings in order to disseminate information obtained from district curriculum meetings, collect information requested from the curriculum director, plan for professional development, lead professional dialogue, and offer support to colleagues within the department in order to enhance instruction and educational practices. 4. Attending mandatory monthly meeting with school administrators to ensure open dialogue regarding curriculum and instructional needs for up to one (1) hour outside of the regularly scheduled school day. 5. Facilitating and managing materials, equipment, and facilities to support instruction in collaboration with principals, teachers and directors/supervisors. 6. Promoting a culture of collaboration, teamwork and professionalism in his/her department. 7. Serving as an expert resource on content and pedagogy for their department and, serve as a mentor/coach to members of the department, and where applicable, using their department chair duty time for this purpose. 8. Working with department teachers in the selection of textbooks and reference materials and recommending their adoption according to prescribed practices. 9. Working with librarian in recommending purchases of library materials, and in the development of library lessons and skills needed in the subject area.

  • Department Responsibilities The use of sick leave may properly be denied if these procedures are not followed. Abuse of sick leave on the part of the employee is cause for disciplinary action. Departmental approval of sick leave is a certification of the legitimacy of the sick leave claim. The department head or designee may make reasonable inquiries about employee absences. The department may require medical verification for an absence of three (3) or more working days. The department may also require medical verification for absences of less than three (3) working days for probable cause if the employee had been notified in advance in writing that such verification was necessary. Inquiries may be made in the following ways: 1. Calling the employee's residence telephone number or other contact telephone number provided by the employee if telephone notification was not made in accordance with departmental sick leave call-in guidelines. These inquiries shall be subject to any restrictions imposed by the employee under Section 14.4.a. 2. Obtaining the employee's signature on the Absence/Overtime Record, or on another form established for that purpose, as employee certification of the legitimacy of the claim. 3. Obtaining the employee's written statement regarding the sick leave claim and duration. 4. Requiring the employee to obtain a physician's certificate or verification of the employee's illness, date(s) the employee was incapacitated, and the employee's ability to return to work, as specified above. 5. In absences of an extended nature, requiring the employee to obtain from their physician a statement of progress and anticipated date on which the employee will be able to return to work, as specified above. Department heads are responsible for establishing timekeeping procedures which will insure the submission of a time card covering each employee absence and for operating their respective offices in accordance with these policies and with clarifying regulations issued by the Office of the County Administrator. To help assure uniform policy application, the Director of Human Resources or designated management staff of the County Human Resources Department should be contacted with respect to sick leave determinations about which the department is in doubt.

  • Custodial Responsibilities (a) Each Custodian shall provide access to the Mortgage Loan Documents in possession of the applicable Custodian regarding the related Mortgage Loans and REO Property and the servicing thereof to the Trustee, the Certificateholders, the FDIC, and the supervisory agents and examiners of the FDIC, such access being afforded only upon reasonable prior written request and during normal business hours at the office of the applicable Custodian. Each Custodian shall allow representatives of the above entities to photocopy any of the records and documentation and shall provide equipment for that purpose at the expense of the person requesting such access. (b) Each Custodian may resign from its obligations hereunder upon 60 days' prior written notice to the Trustee, the Depositor, the Securities Administrator and the Servicers. Such resignation shall take effect upon (i) the appointment of a successor Custodian reasonably acceptable to the Depositor within such 60 day period; and (ii) delivery of all Mortgage Loan Files to the successor Custodian. The Trustee shall have the right, but not the obligation, to become the successor Custodian. If no successor Custodian is appointed within 60 days after written notice of such Custxxxxx'x xesignation is received by the Trustee, the applicable Custxxxxx xxx petition a court of competent jurisdiction to appoint a successor Custodian. Upon such resignation and appointment of succesxxx Xxxxxdian, the applicable Custodian shall, at such Custodian's expense, xxxxxxxx transfer to the successor Custodian, as directed in writing by the Trustee, all applicable Mortgage Files being administered under this Agreement. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Trust Fund, not the applicable Custodian, shall bear the costs relating to the transfer of Mortgage Files if such Custodian shall resign with cause (including such Custodian's resignation due to the failure of such Custodian to be paid xxx xxxx due to such Custodian hereunder). (c) For so long as reports are required to be filed with the Commission under the Exchange Act with respect to the Trust, each Custodian shall not utilize any Subcontractor for the performance of its duties hereunder if such Subcontractor would be "participating in the servicing function" within the meaning of Item 1122 of Regulation AB without the prior written consent of the Depositor, in its sole discretion. (d) Each Custodian shall indemnify the Depositor, the Sponsor, the Securities Administrator and any director, officer, employee, agent and affiliate of the Depositor, the Sponsor or the Securities Administrator and hold them harmless against any and all claims, losses, damages, penalties, fines, forfeitures, reasonable and necessary legal fees and related costs, judgments, and any other costs, fees and expenses that any of them may sustain in any way related to (i) the failure of the applicable Custodian to deliver when required any assessment of compliance required to be delivered by the applicable Custodian or (ii) any material misstatement or omission contained in any assessment of compliance provided to be delivered by the applicable Custodian. This indemnity shall survive the termination of this Agreement or the earlier resignation or removal of the applicable Custodian. (e) Notwithstanding anything in this Agreement to the contrary, no Custodian shall be required to deliver, or to cause to be delivered, an assessment of compliance or accountant's attestation report pursuant to Section 3.23 for any fiscal year of the Trust in which the Custodian's Weighted Average Percentage is 5% or less. The "Custodian's Weighted Average Percentage" means, for each fiscal year of the Trust and each Custodian, the quotient, expressed as a percentage, of (A) the aggregate of the Stated Principal Balance for each Distribution Date in such fiscal year of the Mortgage Loans for which such Custodian acted as Custodian divided by (B) the aggregate of the Pool Stated Principal Balance for each Distribution Date in such fiscal year.

  • Association Responsibilities The Association shall have, in addition to other responsibilities expressly set forth herein or provided by law, the following responsibilities:

  • Agency Responsibilities Agency is responsible for (a) Agency’s use of Axon Devices; (b) breach of this Agreement or violation of applicable law by Agency or an Agency end user; and (c) a dispute between Agency and a third-party over Agency’s use of Axon Devices.

  • University Responsibilities 4.1 The University will provide a room accommodation to The Resident for a period of one academic year or the portion of the academic year remaining when occupancy begins (limited to the subsequent fall and spring semesters) exclusive of the Winter Recess period unless The Resident is assigned to a facility that remains open during this time or is approved to live on-campus during Winter Recess. Services provided by the University begin on the official check-in dates for the specific area and include access to the assigned building and room. 4.2 In accordance with University policy, the University will provide staff that will help facilitate a living experience that complements the academic mission of the University. 4.3 Exclusive of unanticipated weather events and building system failures that may disrupt service and subject to the availability of applicable resources, the University will provide adequate light, heat, electricity, hot water and telecommunication services (limited to video and internet connection) to residents. Student rooms shall be furnished.

  • Student Responsibilities The school provided Chromebook for the student is an important learning tool to be used for educational purposes. In order to use the device each day, the student must be willing to accept the following responsibilities: ● I understand that district officials have the ability to monitor my use of the device AT ALL TIMES IN AND OUT OF SCHOOL and that communications, files, internet search activities, and any other actions using the device are not considered to be private. Note: RCCSD does not have the ability to and will not remotely operate the camera on the device. However, students can cover it when not in use to ensure others are not. ● I understand that the device assigned to me is on loan from Red Clay Consolidated School District. All accounts, programs, and files are subject to inspection at any time without notice. ● I will be responsible for ALL damage or loss of the device due to NEGLECT OR ABUSE including dropping it, getting it wet, and spills of food or drink. ● I will not try to repair my Chromebook. ● At ALL times when using my Chromebook, I will follow the Acceptable Use, Internet Safety Policy, and Student Code of Conduct, and related policies adopted by the Board of Education, and abide by all local, state, and federal laws. ● I will talk with my parent/guardian about their ground rules for going online when not at school. ● I will notify the school principal and my parents of any damage to the device as soon as possible. ● I will charge the Chromebook battery each night and will bring my Chromebook to school every day or be prepared for remote learning. ● I will keep my Chromebook clean. ● I will not lend my device to anyone. This includes family members and friends. Note: I could be held responsible for any inappropriate content on the District issued Chromebook. ● I will keep all passwords assigned to me secure. ● I will only use my account credentials to sign into my Chromebook. ● I am allowed to connect to non-district printers and wireless networks at home and in public places. ● I agree that e-mail or any other computer communication should be used only for appropriate, legitimate, and responsible communication. ● I agree not to share personal information about myself (full name, address, etc.) or about my family, friends or anyone else. ● I agree not to search for, download, display, post, or distribute vulgar, offensive material or images described in applicable district policies. (See the student handbook and/or the district's Acceptable Use Agreement.) ● I agree to abide by all school rules that address electronic device procedures. ● I will return the device when requested, at the end of the school year or upon my withdrawal. ● I agree to not deface or destroy this property in any way. Inappropriate use of the machine may result in the student losing their right to use the Chromebook. ● I understand that identification labels have been placed on the Chromebook. These labels are not to be removed or modified. Additional stickers, labels, tags, or markings of any kind are NOT to be added to the machine.

  • Engineer Responsibilities No subcontract relieves the Engineer of any responsibilities under this contract.

  • District Responsibilities With respect to all sums deducted by the District pursuant to authorization of the employee, whether for membership dues or equivalent fees, the District agrees promptly to remit such monies to the Association together with an alphabetical list of unit members for who such deductions have been made, categorizing them as to membership or non-membership in the Association, and indicating any changes in personnel from the list previously furnished.

  • User Responsibilities i. Users are required to follow good security practices in the selection and use of passwords; ii. Users shall ensure that unattended equipment is protected; and iii. Users shall adopt a clear desk policy for papers and removable storage media and a clear screen policy for information processing facilities.

  • Union Responsibilities Except for claims resulting from errors caused by defective City equipment, the Union agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the City for any loss or damage arising from the operation of this Article.
