Employee's Obligation to Respond to Recall. It shall be the bargaining unit member's responsibility to keep the employer notified as to his/her current mailing address by certified mail, return receipt requested, or by written notice personally delivered to the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources, receipt required. A recalled bargaining unit member shall be given ten (10) workdays from receipt of notice to report to work. The employer may fill the position on a temporary basis until the recalled bargaining unit member reports to work. Bargaining unit members recalled to full-time work for which they are qualified are obligated to take such work on the date stated on the notice of recall. A bargaining unit member who refuses recall to work shall forfeit his/her seniority rights.

An employee's failure to respond affirmatively within fifteen (15) calendar days after receipt of the Board's letter sent by certified mail to the employee's address on file with the Board recalling such employee, shall result in the termination of the employee's rights of recall hereafter.

8.01 Definition Seniority An employee’s seniority calculation commences with the first date of work. Seniority shall be defined as the length of continuous service within the bargaining unit. In the event that more than one individual bargaining unit member has the same starting date of work, and/or same seniority, position on the seniority list shall be determined by drawing lots. In the event an employee changes classifications, the employee shall retain previously earned seniority. All such changes in classifications shall be based on qualifications as determined by the Administration.
