Filling Posted Vacancies. In filling posted vacancies the selection shall be made based on skill, ability, experience, and relevant qualifications of the applicants. Where these factors are relatively equal, bargaining unit seniority shall be the governing factor.

Filling Posted Vacancies. Provided a qualified applicant, as defined herein, applies for an opening, it shall be filled within ten (10) work days from the closing of the posting unless extenuating circumstances warrant a longer time period in order to fill the vacancy. When the position is offered to a teacher, the teacher shall have no longer than forty-eight (48) hours in which to accept the assignment.
Filling Posted Vacancies. The parties recognize the importance of filling all posted job vacancies as soon as possible. Accordingly, the Employer agrees to fill posted vacancies at the earliest possible time.
Filling Posted Vacancies. ‌ (a) Employees, other than regular employees, may apply for posted vacancies on the regular staff; however, no regular position shall be filled by employees other than regular employees until all provisions applying to regular employees have been fulfilled. For purposes of filling posted vacancies, in the event where the top two best qualified applicants have identical seniority dates, the last four numbers of the employee's social security number (highest in number) will be the tie-breaker. 4. If no current employees or no current employees who are judged qualified apply for a position within the seven(7) day posting period, or ifan applicant from outside the bargaining unit is determined to be the best qualified applicant for the vacancy, Dignity Health may fill the vacancy from outside of the bargaining unit. 5. Nothing in this Section prohibits Dignity Health from temporarily filling the vacancy during the posting and selection process if it deems it necessary.
Filling Posted Vacancies. 1. Posted vacancies will first be filled by certified and qualified interested teachers within the building as an internal transfer. The principal, subject to approval of the Director of Personnel, will be responsible for authorizing the assignment and transfer of all existing teaching staff. The principal will confer with members of a building level advisor team to assist in determining appropriate changes. If a posted vacancy has not been filled by an existing teacher within the individual building, the vacancy may be filled with any district-wide bargaining unit member that has a Request for Transfer form on file with the Director of Personnel in accordance with Article 9(B). Such posted vacancy, subject to the following paragraph, will be filled on the basis the Matrix (Appendix A-2) with Teacher experience in Owosso, certification/qualifications, Teacher experience-elsewhere (K-12 public/private), Teacher evaluation, interview, and Honors/recognition in education. The Matrix will include building expectations and a job description. Transfer rights will be available to teachers having an overall satisfactory rating on their most recent evaluation. Absent any evaluation within the last three years, a teacher will be assumed to have a satisfactory evaluation. Teachers may appeal to the Professional Governance Council (PGC in Article 17) regarding the denial of transfer rights. If an administrator is involved with the evaluation of the teacher appealing to the PGC and a member of the PGC, then he/she will be replaced for the resolution of the issue under consideration. If the teacher appealing the right to transfer is a member of the PGC, then he/she will be replaced for the resolution of the issue under consideration. Following an appeal to the PGC, a teacher may exercise the grievance process for resolution through the Board Level. 2. Non-bargaining unit candidates will only be considered after all qualified and certified bargaining unit employees that applied for the vacancy have been considered. A building level team composed of voluntary representatives of the building teaching staff may serve as an advisory committee to the building principal during the interview process, and recommend at least two (2) finalists (whenever possible) to the building principal for each vacancy. If an employee cannot be moved to his/her new position within fourteen (14) calendar days from the date of selection, he/she will assume status of the new position fourteen
