Filling Posted Vacancies. Provided a qualified applicant, as defined herein, applies for an opening, it shall be filled within ten (10) work days from the closing of the posting unless extenuating circumstances warrant a longer time period in order to fill the vacancy. Filling Posted Vacancies. 1. Posted vacancies will first be filled by certified and qualified interested teachers within the building as an internal transfer. The principal, subject to approval of the Director of Personnel, will be responsible for authorizing the assignment and transfer of all existing teaching staff. The principal will confer with members of a building level advisor team to assist in determining appropriate changes. Following an appeal to the PGC, a teacher may exercise the grievance process for resolution through the Board Level.

  • Filling Vacancies In the filling of vacancies, new positions, transfers or promotions, appointments shall be made to the employee with the required qualifications, and level of competency and efficiency as required by the position specifications, and where such requirements are equal, seniority shall be the determining factor.

  • JOB VACANCIES ‌ A vacancy shall be defined as a newly created position, a present position that is not filled, or any position anticipated to be open in the near future for any reason such as, but not limited to, retirement, resignation, etc., if the Employer intends to fill the position. S-14-9 In the event of a job opening where shift work is a factor, all employees in the same classification shall have the right to apply for a transfer to the shift in question with the employee having the most seniority in that classification being granted the transfer upon approval of the appropriate administrator. If the transfer is not granted, reasons for the denial shall be provided to the Association and the employee.
