Fire Inspector. All employees of the Fire Department with at least five (5) years of full time service will be entitled to take the examination for Fire Inspector. If a vacancy occurs in that position, the person with the highest passing score on the most recent examination held within a period of two (2) years next preceding the date of appointment, and who is willing to accept appointment, shall be appointed Fire Inspector. The Fire Inspector shall be entitled to take the examination for the positions of Fire Marshal and the next promotional step above the position held prior to appointment as Fire Inspector. Fire Inspectors shall become State of Michigan Certified Fire Inspector, under the rules adopted by the Michigan Fire Fighters Training Council, and shall be required to maintain that certification. Except as modified by this Agreement, the provisions of 1935 P.A. 78 (MCLA 38.501 et seq.) shall apply.

Fire Inspector. Fire Inspectors shall receive specialist pay in the amount of five percent (5%) of base pay. This section shall be eliminated for Fire Inspectors hired after May 1, 2012.
Fire Inspector. All applicants for the rank of Fire Inspector must be able to speak to an audience and be willing to teach. All applicants for the rank of Fire Inspector will be deemed eligible upon successful completion and certification of NFPA 1021 Fire Officer Level 1 and NFPA 1041 Fire Service Instructor 1 (It is noted that the Fire Protection Technology Course would be acceptable). In addition, upon promotion, the new Fire Inspector will register in the Fire Prevention Officer Program at the Fire College and successfully pass. When a second posting is required to fill the position, that successful applicant will be required to attend and pass the Fire Prevention courses as per the first appointee. The applicant shall comply with 8.01(a).
Fire Inspector. 1. All candidates must have a minimum of three years’ experience with SFFR. 2. All candidates must have a satisfactory service rating. 3. In the event no SFFR employee applies for or passes the civil service promotional examination process, or not enough candidates pass to fill existing vacancies, the City has the right to hire outside the SFFR bargaining unit without complying with paragraphs 1, 2, and 3 of this section. 4. If hiring outside the SFFR bargaining unit occurs, employees are eligible to apply for Fire Inspector as a civilian. 5. All candidates, whether SFFR employee or civilian, must hold or be able to obtain certification set by SFFR Administrative Policy 600.1, “Certification and Professional Development.” 6. Where a newly hired civilian employee does not obtain the requisite certification as specified in this Article, such employee will be terminated. Where a promoted employee does not attain the requisite certification as specified within this Article, such employee will be returned to their former position\rank and pay. The Fire Chief may grant extensions to this requirement.
Fire Inspector. Fire Inspectors assigned to Prevention with the Fire Inspector II certification shall receive a premium of three percent (3%) of their base wage rate. a) Any inspector who has taken a voluntary demotion, has attained permanent status in the requested classification, and is still qualified to perform the work may be reinstated within three years from the date the employee voluntarily demoted. After three (3) years an employee will have to follow the fire inspector recruitment process and be reinstated from the current fire inspector eligibility list. b) Employees being reinstated to a position they previously held status in and completed a probationary period will not be required to serve another probationary period. The salary rate for employees reinstated from a voluntary demotion shall be at the same position in the salary range as when the employee last served in the classification or at the position in the salary range 12 that affords them the least reduction in pay from their current position.
Fire Inspector. (1) APPOINTMENT. The Fire Chief or his designee shall be the Town Fire Inspector.
Fire Inspector. When on Fire Bureau duty, the normal workweek shall consist of thirty-seven and one- half (37 ½) hours, with one (1) hour unpaid meal break per day. Said meal breaks are not part of the thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours. The normal week will be Monday through Friday.

Fire Inspector. Investigator Premium Pay‌ Fire Inspector and Assistant Fire Marshals assigned to Fire Inspector/Investigator duty shall receive Fire Inspector/Investigator Premium Pay as follows: Fire Inspector: $481.28 for the seven (7) day assignment as Fire Inspector/Investigator. Assistant Fire Marshal: $632.32 for the seven (7) day assignment as Assistant Fire Marshal/ Investigator.
Fire Inspector. Fire inspections of all work in Contractor’s Safety Area will be conducted on at least a weekly basis by a Qualified fire inspector acceptable to Hydro’s Representative acting reasonably (the “Fire Inspector”). A monthly fire safety inspection report for the Work will be produced in a format acceptable to Hydro’s Representative and provided to Hydro’s Representative on or before the last day of each month. The Fire Inspector must attain and maintain: (a) Fire Inspector Level II in accordance with NFPA 1031[Standard for Professional Qualifications for Fire Inspector and Plan Examiner]; (b) a minimum 5 years’ experience in industrial and construction fire safety in Canada; and (c) working knowledge of BC Fire Code, Building Codes and of the management of wildfire risks in BC. Hydro’s Representative, in their discretion, may accept an alternate equivalent set of knowledge, experience and qualifications.
