Frequency of Observations. 1. Before the Board initiates a contract termination for unsatisfactory teaching performance, the teacher will have been observed in a classroom setting or equivalent setting a minimum of three (3) times in three (3) different months with at least six (6) weeks between observations.
2. The individual teacher and the evaluator mutually may agree upon additional observations.
Frequency of Observations. A minimum of two (2) unannounced or announced classroom observations, at least twenty (20) minutes in length each, are required for each evaluation period. Additional announced or unannounced observations may be conducted at the immediate supervisor’s discretion. The immediate supervisor or unit member may also request outside evaluation assistance from the Educational Services Department Head, if necessary, after the required two observations.
Frequency of Observations i. Classroom teachers on a comprehensive evaluation will be observed at least twice each school year in the performance of their assigned duties. Classroom teachers who are subject to a comprehensive evaluation will be observed for a period of no less than sixty (60) minutes during each school year.
ii. New employees of the Newport School District will be observed at least once for a total observation time of thirty (30) minutes during the first ninety days of employment.
iii. Newport School district teachers in the third year of provisional status will be observed at least three times in the performance of their duties. The total observation time must not be less than ninety (90) minutes.
Frequency of Observations. 1. Before the Board initiates a contract termination of a non-OTES bargaining unit member for unsatisfactory performance, the bargaining unit member will have been observed in a classroom setting or equivalent setting a minimum of three times in three different months.
2. No more than four observations during a semester will be conducted. However, the individual bargaining unit member and the evaluator mutually may agree upon additional observations.
Frequency of Observations i. Classroom teachers on a focused evaluation will be observed at least twice each school year in the performance of their assigned duties for a period of no less than sixty (60) minutes during the school year.
Frequency of Observations. Each non-tenured bargaining unit member shall have a minimum of three (3) observations (at least two (2) formal) for each school term. For non-tenured bargaining unit members, there must be at least one formal observation each semester. Each tenured bargaining unit member shall have a minimum of two (2) observations (at least one (1) formal) during the two-term evaluation cycle. For tenured bargaining unit members, there must be a minimum of one observation each term of the evaluation cycle.
Frequency of Observations a. Teachers new to the District: Administrators are responsible for carefully monitoring the performance of staff members during their first year in the District, including at least one informal observation within six to eight weeks of the start of the school year. In the period before March 31, administrators shall keep all new staff members informed of their strengths and improvement needs and provide appropriate assistance if necessary.
b. Professionals without Continuing-Contract Status: Professionals who have not achieved continuing contract status shall have at least two (2) formal observation sequences between September 1 and March 15 of each year. The first formal observation will take place by December 1.
c. Professionals with Continuing-Contract Status: Professionals on continuing contract shall have a minimum of one (1) formal observation sequence during the second year in their three (3) year cycle. No teacher shall receive a notice of non- renewal, under RSA 189-14 for classroom performance without a formal classroom observation in that school year. Professionals on continuing contract whose performance is of concern and if non- renewal is likely to be proposed on April 15, the professional will be notified and they will be placed on an Intensive Assistance Phase Plan. Written documentation addressing the specific area(s) of concern will be made available to the professional at that time. The Intensive Assistance Phase Plan must be written within fourteen (14) calendar days of notification. With the approval of the professional, a copy of the written Intensive Assistance Phase Plan will be forwarded to the Association President. At least one (1) follow-up formal observation will be completed within 30 calendar days with at least one additional observation within 50 calendar days. If the professional is not placed on an Intensive Assistance Phase Plan by January 15, the teacher may not be non- renewed in that school year based on classroom performance. These notification requirements do not apply if serious non-classroom issues arise after January 15th.
Frequency of Observations. Non-Tenured Bargaining Unit Member

Frequency of Observations. (A) Normally, employees in roles that are suitable for classroom “observation” can expect to be observed between one and four times by a primary evaluator prior to the receipt of an evaluation report. In the event that a teacher is observed for purposes of gathering data more than four times by his/her primary evaluator, h/she will receive a written statement from the evaluator involved explaining why.
(B) Teachers progressing toward professional teacher status will, whenever possible, be observed by a Central Office administrator in addition to observations by primary and contributing evaluators.
