The Grievance Stages clause outlines the step-by-step process for addressing and resolving complaints or disputes within an organization or between contractual parties. Grievance Stages. The aggrieved employee may review his complaint and the supervisor’s answer with his ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇. If it is determined that the complaint is a grievance, the Union shall, within twelve (12) calendar days of the supervisor’s answer, reduce the grievance to writing on the grievance form provided, together with pertinent facts, and present it to the Department Supervisor with a copy to Human Resources. The grievance will then be settled in the following manner. First Stage: Between the Department Supervisor and/or immediate supervisor, the employee and one Union representative. The First Stage meeting will be held within twelve (12) calendar days after the date of the receipt of the written grievance, and will be answered on the grievance form by Management within five (5) calendar days after the date of the meeting. Grievances which are not appealed to the Second Stage within thirty (30) calendar days of the First Stage answer will be considered settled on the basis of the answer given in the First Stage. Second Stage: Between no more than three (3) members of the Union Grievance Committee, the Plant Manager, and two other Management representatives. Any request for a Second Stage meeting shall be made by the Union within thirty (30) calendar days after the grievance has been answered in the First Stage. The Second Stage meeting will be held within fifteen (15) calendar days after receipt of the Union’s request. Management will answer the grievance on the grievance form within five (5) calendar days after the meeting. Either party may have the right to call the grievant to give testimony at the meeting; however, the grievant’s attendance will be limited to the time necessary to give his or her testimony. Grievances which are not appealed to the Third Stage within thirty (30) calendar days of the Second Stage answer will be considered settled on the basis of the answer given in the Second Stage.
Grievance Stages. If the complaint described in article 9.04 is not settled to the satisfaction of the employee concerned, the employee may file a grievance in the following manner and sequence:
Step 1 Within seven (7) working days of receiving the decision of the immediate Supervisor, the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ will submit a grievance, in writing to the immediate Supervisor. The grieving employee(s) together with the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ shall present the grievance to the immediate Supervisor at a meeting held within ten (10) working days of the receipt of such grievance. The immediate Supervisor shall communicate his position in writing to the employee within seven (7) working days of such meeting.
Step 2 If the matter is not settled at Step 1, then, within seven (7) working days of the immediate Supervisor’s reply, the union may submit the written grievance to the Human Resources Committee of Council. In such case, a meeting shall be held between a minimum of one (1) member of the Human Resources Committee of Council, the immediate Supervisor, the Union ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ and the employee within fourteen (14) working days of the submission of the grievance at Step 2. The Union and the Employer will have the opportunity to have outside representation in attendance at such meeting. The Employer shall provide its reply within fourteen (14) working days of the Step 2 meeting. If the matter is not disposed of at such meeting, either party may proceed to arbitration as provided in Article 13 at any time within fourteen (14) working days of the final decision in Step 2. If no such written request for arbitration is received within the time limits, the grievance shall be deemed to have been abandoned.
Grievance Stages. Stage 1: Supervisor
▇. Before the grievant files a grievance in writing, he will attempt to resolve it informally with his immediate supervisor. The grievant will have the obligation, if questioned by the supervisor, to inform his supervisor that he is initiating the informal stage of the grievance- procedure. A bargaining unit member having a grievance will discuss it with his supervisor, either directly or through a representative, with the objective of resolving the matter informally. The supervisor will confer with all parties in interest, but in arriving at his decision, will not consider any material or statements offered by or on behalf of any Brush ton-Moira Support Staff Contract, 2011-2016 6 such party in interest with whom consultation has been had without the aggrieved party or his representative present. If the bargaining unit member submits the grievance through a representative, the bargaining unit member may be present during the discussion of the grievance.
B. If the grievance is not resolved informally, it shall be reduced to writing and presented to the supervisor. Within three (3) school days after the written grievance is presented to him, the supervisor shall, without further consultation with the aggrieved party or any party in interest, render a decision thereon, in writing and present it to the bargaining unit member, his representative and the Association.
Grievance Stages. 1. Supervisor (Administrator)
a. A member of the bargaining unit having a grievance will discuss it with the administrator to try to resolve the matter informally.
b. If the grievance is not satisfactorily resolved informally, the aggrieved party must submit the grievance in writing within ten (10) days to the administrator. The administrator shall respond to the association in writing within ten (10) days after receipt of the written grievance. A copy of the decision shall go to the Association President.
c. If the grievant is not satisfied with the decision or does not receive a response within the time limit, the grievant must submit the grievance within ten (10) days to the Superintendent.
2. Chief School Administrator The Superintendent (or the superintendent’s designated administrative representative) shall confer with the grievant and shall submit to him/her a written decision within ten (10) days of his/her receipt of grievance.

If the teacher submits the grievance 44 through a representative, the teacher may be present during the discussion of the 45 grievance.
46 b. If the grievance is not resolved informally, it shall be reduced to writing and 47 presented to the supervisor. Within five (5) school days after the written 48 grievance is presented, the supervisor shall, without any further consultation with 49 the aggrieved party or any party in interest, render a decision thereon, in writing 50 and present it to the teacher, his representative and the Association.

Grievance Stages. A grievance shall be processed in the following stages:
1. Stage I: An aggrieved party shall present a grievance to the Director of Facilities & Operations, Supervisor of Transportation, the Purchasing Agent, the School Lunch Director, or the Coordinator of Libraries/Technology, as appropriate, who shall render a written determination to the aggrieved party within a period of ten (10) days.
2. Stage II: Within five days of the disposition of the grievance at Stage I, the grievant may appeal to the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee.
3. Stage III: Within fifteen days after the disposition of the grievance at Stage II, the grievant may appeal in writing to the Board of Education.
4. Stage IV: Within fifteen days after the disposition of the grievance at Stage III, the Union may submit the grievance to arbitration.
Grievance Stages. days after initial filing of the grievance, the aggrieved, the Union Grievance Committee, and the Immediate Supervisor shall meet to resolve the grievance. The Immediate Supervisor shall file an answer within five (5) working days of the first stage grievance meeting and communicate it in writing to the aggrieved, the Assistant Superintendent of Business, the Superintendent and Union Grievance Committee Chairperson.

4.6.1 Stage 1: Supervisor
4.6.1.1 A teacher having a grievance will discuss it with his supervisor, either directly or through a representative, with the objective of resolving the matter informally. The supervisor will confer with all parties in interest. If the teacher submits the grievance through a representative the teacher may be present during the discussion of the grievance.
4.6.1.2 If the grievance is not resolved informally, it shall be reduced to writing and presented to the supervisor. Within ten (10) school days after the written grievance is presented to him, the supervisor shall render a decision thereon, in writing and present it to the teacher, his representative and the Association.

All disputes, grievances and any other matters arising during the life of this Agreement, shall be settled without stoppage of work in the following manner: If a grievance arises, the employee concerned or the Union, will submit the grievance in writing to the Supervisor concerned. The Parties will discuss the grievance and attempt to settle it. The Company Representative will give a decision in writing within five (5) working days of the grievance being submitted to him.
