Itinerant Staff. Follow the snow day policy of the local school to which assigned on the snow date. Time lost in excess of that not required to be made up by law will be made up at the end of the school year or as mutually agreed to between the appropriate supervisor and the staff members. A non-student contact day will be assigned for staff development.
Itinerant Staff. Appraisals of itinerant staff shall contain input from the Principal(s) from schools where the itinerant staff served.
Itinerant Staff. Section 1 - Inter-School Travel. Schedules of teachers who are assigned to more than one school shall be arranged so that no such teacher shall be required to engage in an unreasonable amount of
Itinerant Staff a. When any Special Education itinerant professional group is over collective caseload limits for their department and are not able to hire up to their full contractual staffing levels after 20 school days of unfilled open posted positions, according to ratios or caseloads, due to the lack of qualified applicants in their professional pool, the following will happen:
i) Additional compensation will be offered to professionals in that group, as first recourse, to accomplish that additional work at a % ratio of the workload times their per diem, up to .2 FTE additional caseload per person. No staff will be asked to work more than an additional .2 FTE contract in this manner. Payment will be in a timely manner.
ii) Services that can only be provided by certificated staff will continue to be provided by that itinerant professional group and it may be necessary to contract outside of the district to fulfill legal IEP obligations while an in-district position is being advertised and is not yet filled.
Itinerant Staff. An employee who feels that existing facilities are inadequate may file a written statement with the appropriate Director specifically outlining needed improvements. At the next regular meeting following the written notice, the Board will appoint a committee consisting of the Director, a representative of the Board, and an administrator in the local district involved to consider the written statement and recommend immediate action for improvement.
Itinerant Staff. Pre-approved mileage for teachers shall be reimbursed at the IRS rate per mile when teachers are required to use their own vehicle:
A. In the performance of their duties as a teacher or advisor of extra-curricular activities
B. A lump sum payment may be paid for travel between schools when assigned to more than one school per day. Teachers shall not be reimbursed for any travel from their home to their base school or for return to their home. Teachers will have the choice of a stipend (paid on December 15 and June 15) or monthly mileage reimbursement at the IRS rate. A teacher’s choice needs to be made prior to October 1. If it is a new assignment, the choice needs to be made within two (2) weeks.
Itinerant Staff. Teachers may be required to use their own automobile in the performance of their duties and teachers who are assigned to more than one school per day shall be reimbursed for all such travel at the rate of $100.00 per semester per daily move. Said fee shall be determined prior to the first paycheck following the commencement of the assignment. Reimbursement for said expenses shall be granted only with the prior approval of the administration.
Itinerant Staff. Travel from school to school by special education staff will be equivalent to a 30 minute section. This is not to take the place of lunch, planning, set up/take down time, or bathroom breaks. To maintain manageable caseloads for itinerant staff, considering the disability related needs of students, the following limits for caseloads in special education are as follows:
Itinerant Staff. ELL, Interventionist, Specialist, Librarians, Family Support Workers, Student Family Advocates, Counselors, Social Workers, Consulting Teachers, DHH/ITOD, Vision Services, and Program Specialists
a. Bilingual Orientation Center educators will work with their building admins, Building Leadership Team (including parents/caregivers), and Professional Learning Community to implement a schedule that serves the needs of their students and their community.
b. Program and building site staff can request itinerant and support staff to enter their classroom and/or cohort on a given day as planned support or coaching (e.g., to support professional growth, instructional needs, student-based needs); staff must still follow all Health and Safety protocols in this agreement.
c. JSCEE itinerant staff will be issued PPE appropriate to classrooms they will be entering (e.g., gowns, KN95 masks).
Itinerant Staff. Every effort will be made to provide all itinerant staff (i.e. those staff providing district-wide services) with a home building. Staff will limit in-person services to no more than two buildings. Wherever feasible, itinerant staff will have the option to deliver services to other building(s) remotely. If the district is unable to provide HIPAA and FERPA (i.e. requiring confidential, private space) compliant workspace, staff may work from a private/confidential space at home.
