Length of Shifts. While Management is entitled to schedule shifts of various lengths as provided for in this Agreement, Management will endeavour to maximize the length of shifts before instituting shifts of lesser duration, subject to the operating needs of the business. For the purpose of this provision, the term operating needs will not include scheduling to avoid rest periods and meal breaks.
Length of Shifts. On occasion, a shift worker may be rostered to work shifts of 10 hours or longer provided that it is by agreement between the Anglicare WA and the majority of the employees. The ordinary hours of work shall not exceed 12.5 hours on any shift. Shift workers will be allowed a break of at least 10 hours between the end of one shift or period of duty and the commencement of another. Notwithstanding the provision of Clause 4.7 by agreement between the employee and Anglicare WA, the break between: • the end of a shift and the commencement of a shift adjoining with the start of a sleepover may not be less than 8 hours • a shift commencing after the end of a shift adjoining with a sleepover may not be less than 8 hours A full-time shift worker is entitled to 20 days annual leave and 5 days extra shift leave for each twelve months continuous service. This leave is cumulative and leave loading applies. Part-time shift workers accrue this leave on a pro-rata basis.
Length of Shifts i. The bidding of shifts for Deputies, Sergeants, and Sheriff’s Aides shall take place on a bi-annual basis. The shift periods will be: January – June, July – December
ii. The bidding of shifts for Dispatchers and Supervising Dispatchers shall take place on a tri-annual basis. The shift periods will be: January – April, May - August September – December

24.2.1 The employer can determine the shift length to be worked as long as the ordinary time hours do not exceed ten.
24.2.2 Shifts including more than ten ordinary time hours can only be implemented by agreement between the employer and the majority of affected employees.
24.2.3 In the event that the employer wishes to introduce shift lengths greater than ten ordinary hours, and the employer has sought, but not obtained, the agreement of the majority of employees as required by sub-clause 24.2.2, the matter may be referred to the Australian Industrial Relations Commission for determination.
Length of Shifts. (a) The Company is obligated to schedule shifts in a department according to classifications, categories and by seniority. The Parties further agree that regular auxiliary, regular part-time, and full time employees may receive the same length of shift on any given day:
(i) regular full time employees will receive the longest shift;
(ii) regular part-time employees will receive the next longest shift;
(iii) auxiliary employees will receive the shortest shift available.
(b) While the Company is entitled to schedule shifts of various lengths as provided for in this Agreement, it is agreed where additional work becomes available during the work schedule, senior employees will have their shift extended up to seven and one-half (7½) hours before any junior employees’ hours are extended, subject to adequate coverage.
(c) In the event of a reduction in the number of available hours in a schedule that has already been posted, employees will have their hours reduced in the order of reverse seniority, subject to adequate coverage.

Length of Shifts. (a) Driver Only shifts will operate up to 8 hours in duration, or over 8 hours subject to agreement with employees or employees and their nominated representative.
(b) Part D.O.O. and part Two-Person shifts will operate up to 9 hours in duration or over 9 hours subject to agreement with employees or employees and their nominated representative.
(c) Shifts with two-persons consisting of a Locomotive Driver and a non-qualified driver, locomotive grade employee, will operate up to 9 hours in duration. or over 9 hours subject to agreement with employees or employees and their nominated representative.
(d) Shifts with Two Drivers can operate up to 11 hours in duration.
Length of Shifts. Subject to clause 23 - Hours of work, the ordinary working hours of all employees will be exclusive of meal times and will be worked in shifts the lengths of which shall be agreed between management and the majority of employees.
Length of Shifts. (a) The length of a full-time employee’s regularly scheduled shift shall be eight and one-half (8½) hours, inclusive of rest periods and meal period.
(b) The length of a part-time employee’s regularly scheduled shift shall be four (4) hours, inclusive of breaks. However, from time to time, part-time employees’ shifts may be extended by the Employer to a regularly scheduled shift of no more than eight and one-half (8½) hours.
