Shift Lengths. 6.1 Shift lengths will be determined by the Incident Controller and will commence and conclude at the nominated time and location (i.e. temporary workplace) as determined by the Incident Controller.
6.2 Unless authorised by the Incident Controller, shift lengths must not be exceeded. It is the responsibility of the Incident Controller (and/or employer and employee) to ensure that compliance with shift lengths and rest period requirements are adhered to.
Shift Lengths. Shift lengths may consist of eight, nine, ten or twelve 17 hours. The Medical Center reserves the right to create positions consisting of eight, 18 nine, ten or twelve hours, which shall be subject to the established posting criteria set 19 forth in Article 13. Shift lengths of shorter duration may be established as defined in 20 Appendix F. 22 Quarterly position controls shall be provided the Association that include open 23 vacant and travel positions, FTE, shift and shift length.
24 8.4.1 The nurse concerned shall be scheduled on the basis of a forty- 26 than eight hours shall be paid daily overtime for hours worked in excess of the 27 applicable scheduled shift hours, instead of eight hours.
29 8.4.2 Five or more consecutive nine- or ten-hour shifts, or four or more 30 consecutive twelve-hour shifts, shall not be scheduled without the written consent 1 of the affected nurse, which may be rescinded upon written notice at least ten 2 days in advance of posting of the next work schedule.
4 8.4.3 Whenever the initiation of a nine-, ten- or twelve-hour shift is 5 contemplated, and at least a portion of the hours for such shift are currently being 6 worked in an eight hour position, the Medical Center must offer these shifts to all 7 staff and/or Charge Nurses on the same nursing unit. If the Medical Center 8 cannot accommodate the resulting multiple requests for these shifts, the most 9 senior nurse(s) requesting such shift(s) shall be granted such shift(s). The 10 Association shall be notified in writing of the available shifts, applicants, and final 11 appointments for each such shifts when it is granted.
13 8.4.4 In the event the Medical Center proposes any one of the following 14 changes in a unit shift length mix which:
15 1. initiates a new shift length,
17 2. eliminates a shift length, or
19 3. significantly changes the shift length mix 21 The Medical Center shall not proceed with the aforementioned changes 22 without prior consultation with and consent of the Association, and such consent 23 shall not be arbitrarily or capriciously withheld. 25 The Labor Management Committee shall collaboratively develop a work 26 force analysis to inform the committee of the needs and wants of the workforce 27 as it relates to shift lengths.
29 8.4.5 A change in workday duration under this section will not be deemed 30 to have resulted in a vacancy, provided that the change falls within the language 31 of Article 13.6. Positions consisting of regularly scheduled sh...
Shift Lengths. The standard work day may consist of eight (8) or ten (10) hours, exclusive of meal periods. The Employer shall notify the Union at least 30 days in advance of changing the shift lengths within a department. Upon request, the Employer shall meet with the Union to bargain the impact of the change.
Shift Lengths. This clause is the same as the current Agreement.
Shift Lengths. Subject to the following provisions, employees may be rostered in shifts of any length between four (4) and twelve (12) hours.
Shift Lengths. 58.1 A maximum of 12 hours per shift (exclusive of meal breaks) may be worked in a roster but a minimum of 8 clear hours free of rostered duty must be granted before recommencement of duty, unless agreed in accordance with clause 11 of this Agreement.
58.2 A MPG employee must not be rostered to work for less than 3 hours per shift.
58.3 Proximate Call duty is worked between the hours of 9.00pm and 8.30am, except where the MPG employee has only been rostered for 12 hours duty prior to being placed on Proximate Call. (Refer to clause 60.4).
Shift Lengths. 35.1 Employees covered by this Agreement may be required to perform shifts which have irregular starting times and varying lengths.
(a) The maximum shift length that an Employee may rostered is 12 hours.
(b) The minimum shift length that an Employee may be rostered is:
(i) 6 hours for full-time and part-time Employees; or
(ii) 2 hours for casual Employees.
Shift Lengths. The following shift lengths will apply:
(a) Casual employees – minimum 4 hours per engagement; and
(b) Permanent full time and part time employees – minimum 5 ordinary hours and maximum 11 ordinary hours per day.

Shift Lengths. 60.1. Subject to clause 62 of this Agreement, employees may be required to work shifts of up to 12 hours. The 12 hours may be constituted by:
60.1.1. Ordinary Hours; or
60.1.2. overtime hours; or
60.1.3. a combination of Ordinary Hours and overtime hours.
60.2. Work beyond 12 hours is subject to the agreement of the employee concerned and will only occur where circumstances beyond Aurizon’s immediate control (such as locomotive failure, derailment, highway and/or network road closure) have prevented the employee getting to the sign off location within the maximum shift length.
60.3. Permanent full-time and part-time Train Crew Employees will not be required to work an operational shift of fewer than 6 hours unless agreed otherwise.
60.4. Subject to this Agreement the length of an employee’s rostered shift may be extended or reduced.
