Payout of Unused Sick Leave. Full-time employees who remain with the Employer until the termination of the Program shall, in addition to any entitlements they may have under the Collective Agreement, be entitled to be paid out 100% of any unused sick time for the period June 1, 2014 to December 31, 2014. Sick time for this period will be prorated to a maximum of 32.7 hours Sick time carried over from the period June 1, 2013 to May 31, 2014 will be paid at 100%. The parties may meet at any time to discuss any additional terms that may be necessary as a result of the planned termination of the Program. Payout of Unused Sick Leave. Upon retirement from service with SMHA (disability or service retirement), the employee will receive a lump sum payout of unused sick leave according to the chart below. In the event of the employee’s death, unused sick leave will be paid to the employee’s beneficiary or estate. The amount of sick leave available for payout consideration will be the employee’s actual sick leave balance on the date of retirement, up to a maximum of 600 hours. Sick leave payouts shall only apply to employees who are eligible for and actually retire from service through the Ohio Public Employee’s Retirement System (“OPERS”) under the service or disability retirement programs. Upon proof of retirement, XXXX will arrange for the sick leave conversion payment on the employee’s last paycheck, or within thirty (30) days after XXXX receives notice of the retirement from OPERS, whichever is applicable. Conversion of sick leave under this provision will eliminate all sick leave credit and reduce the employee’s balance to zero.
Payout of Unused Sick Leave. 17.1 Under the provisions of this clause payout of unused sick leave will only be eligible on the anniversary date of the employee after the commencement of this agreement (ie. after 1st October 2003). 17.2 The terms and conditions of this clause apply only to sick leave accrued during the life of this agreement. 17.3 Subject to the above, after a twelve month period has elapsed any sick leave from the current years annual accrual, which remains untaken, can be elected by the employee concerned to be paid out in the first available pay period in December of that year during which the entitlement becomes payable. Up to a maximum of ten days only can be paid out. 17.4 All sick leave taken in any year is debited from that years credits prior to any calculation for payout. An example is provided below. All other sick leave entitlements which have been accrued prior to the operational effectiveness of this clause are preserved and are available to be used as necessary but will not be paid out under the terms and conditions of this clause (which is not retrospective).

  • Unused Sick Leave The accrual of unused sick leave hours is unlimited. The City and the Union commit to the evaluation and establishment of a mutually beneficial non-use of sick leave incentive and pay-out policy. Until such time that a policy is established, accumulated sick leave shall be compensated as follows: Upon retirement from the City service, an employee shall be paid sixty percent (60%) of his accumulated sick leave, with the rate of payment based upon his regular pay at the time he retires. Upon the death of an employee, his beneficiary shall be paid sixty percent (60%) of his accumulated unused sick leave, with the payment based upon his regular pay at the date of his death.

  • Payment for Unused Sick Leave (a) An employee with less than ten (10) years of FIU service who separates from FIU shall not be paid for any unused sick leave. (b) An employee who has completed ten (10) or more years of FIU service, has not been found guilty or has not admitted to being guilty of committing, aiding, or abetting any embezzlement, theft, or bribery in connection with State government, or has not been found guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction of having violated any State law against or prohibiting strikes by public employees, and separates from FIU because of retirement for other than disability reasons, termination, or death, shall be compensated at the employee's current regular hourly rate of pay for one-eighth of all unused sick leave accrued prior to October 1, 1973, plus one- fourth of all unused sick leave accrued on or after October 1, 1973; provided that one-fourth of the unused sick leave since 1973 does not exceed 480 hours. The compensation in this paragraph 8(4)(b) shall not be given to an employee who starts employment at FIU on or after July 1, 2006. (c) Upon layoff, an employee with ten (10) or more years of FIU service shall be paid for unused sick leave as described in paragraph b., above, unless the employee requests in writing that unused sick leave be retained pending re-employment. For an employee who is re-employed by the University within twelve (12) calendar months following layoff, all unused sick leave shall be restored to the employee, provided the employee requests such action in writing and repays the full amount of any lump sum leave payments received at the time of layoff. An employee who is not re- employed within twelve (12) calendar months following layoff shall be paid for sick leave in accordance with this Policy. (d) All payments for unused sick leave shall be made in lump sum and shall not be used in determining the average final compensation of an employee in any State administered retirement system. An employee shall not be carried on the payroll beyond the last official day of employment, except that an employee who is unable to perform duties because of a disability may be continued on the payroll until all sick leave is exhausted. (e) If an employee has received a lump sum payment for accrued sick leave, the employee may elect in writing, upon re-employment within 100 days, to restore the employee's accrued sick leave. Restoration will be effective upon the repayment of the full lump sum leave payment. (f) In the event of the death of an employee, payment for unused sick leave at the time of death shall be made to the employee's beneficiary, estate, or as provided by law.

  • Paid Sick Leave For those jurisdictions that have passed or will pass legislation requiring Paid Sick Leave, Paid Sick Time will be billed back to Client at the straight-time bill rate for all hours taken by any Consultant assigned to Client. This section is not applicable until the effective date of such legislation has been reached.

  • Sick Leave Bonus ‌ For every six (6) months of perfect sick leave attendance after July 1, 1987, the employee will receive eight (8) hours of bonus time. This bonus time will be prorated for part-time employees. Such bonus time can be used for any leave purpose covered by this Agreement. Such bonus time shall be counted as vacation leave credits for purposes of determining eligibility for carry- over and cash payments.

  • Sick Leave Incentive The City will institute a sick leave incentive based on the usage of the bargaining unit; further, the City will pay each person who qualifies during January of each year. The incentive will be calculated and monitored by the Personnel Department and will be based on the pay periods during a calendar year. The incentive shall be awarded only when the bargaining unit's average sick leave usage is less than the City average and the following conditions are met: When the bargaining unit's sick leave usage is greater than forty (40) hours but less than the City average, the City will pay each member using between zero (0) and sixteen (16) hours of sick leave, eight (8) hours pay and any member using more than sixteen (16) but equal to or less than twenty-four (24) hours, four (4) hours pay. When the bargaining unit's average sick leave usage is equal to or less than forty (40) hours, the City will pay each member who used between zero (0) and sixteen (16) hours, sixteen (16) hours of pay at their current hourly rate. Those members who used more than sixteen (16) but equal to or less than twenty-four (24) hours, will receive eight (8) hours of pay.

  • Vacation; Sick Leave During the Employment Term, the Executive shall be entitled to not less than four (4) weeks of vacation during each calendar year and sick leave in accordance with the Company’s policies and practices with respect to its executives.

  • Accumulated Sick Leave ‌ The Employer shall inform all employees at least once each year of the number of sick days accumulated and shall make the information available to an employee on request.
