RELIEVING ALLOWANCE. 1. An employee required to perform relieving duty which necessitates absence from home overnight shall be paid actual and reasonable expenses on submission of the appropriate receipts or vouchers.
RELIEVING ALLOWANCE. Alternative provisions applicable to senior teachers are found in Part 8.
RELIEVING ALLOWANCE. 35.1 Reimbursement of accommodation, meal and incidental expenses for employees performing relieving duty will operate in the same manner as specified as above. Where an employee is undertaking an approved period of relieving duties which requires them to stay for a period of more than 14 consecutive nights at a location other than their normal place of residence, the RMO may claim the following allowances/reimbursement: Expense Where the employee is travelling and not staying privately Where the employee is travelling and is staying privately Accommodation Reimbursement of costs on an actual and reasonable basis may be claimed (receipts required) Up to $31.12 per night (no receipts required) Meals $42.14 per day (see cl.35.2) $21.06 per day or part day Incidentals $7.25 per day or part of a day $7.25 per day or part of a day
35.2 For the first 14 days (of relieving duty) employees may claim a refund of their expenses based on the transfer allowance provisions. That is, they may claim the higher rate of the allowance for meals ($59.90 per day).
35.3 Employees receiving a relieving duty allowance are to avoid staying at expensive hotels and make every effort to obtain board and lodgings elsewhere. Employees will be allowed a reasonable period to find cheaper accommodation. Hotel expenses are not to be paid for more than one month other than in exceptional circumstances.
RELIEVING ALLOWANCE. The rates expressed in subclause 5.6.1 are varied from time to time and notified by Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety Award Circulars and adjusted administratively by PTA Industrial Circular.
RELIEVING ALLOWANCE. 5.6.1 An employee who is required to take up duty away from their home depot on relief duty, and necessarily resides temporarily away from the employee's usual place of residence, shall be reimbursed reasonable expenses based on the provisions and rates contained in Schedule I Travelling, Transfer & Relieving Allowance of the Public Service Award 1992 and notified by Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety Circular to Departments or Authorities.
5.6.2 An system of recording and allocating away from home relief duty in accordance with
5.6.1 may be trialled during the life of the Agreement, provided the terms of the trial are agreed in writing between the parties to this Agreement.
RELIEVING ALLOWANCE. 94 Where a staff member has been requested to perform all of the duties of an established position classified at a higher level for a minimum period of five consecutive working days, the staff member will be paid the minimum salary for the level of the higher classified position. 95 Where a staff member has been requested to perform some, but not all the duties of the higher position, for a minimum of five consecutive working days, then a proportion of the allowance will be paid for the proportion of the additional work and responsibility requested to be performed. The staff member will be advised of the extent of the duties to be performed and the rate of allowance to be paid. 96 Superannuation shall be payable on the relieving allowance.
RELIEVING ALLOWANCE. An employee who is required to take up duty greater than 50 km away from headquarters and outside the metropolitan area, on relief duty or to perform special duty, and necessarily resides temporarily away from the employee’s usual place of residence, shall be provided with a daily allowance on the following basis: WA - South of 26 Degrees South Latitude $6.95 per day WA - North of 26 Degrees South Latitude $8.85 per day Interstate $8.85 per day The provision of this allowance shall not be suspended should an employee become ill whilst on relief duty, provided leave for the period of such illness is approved in accordance with the provisions of this Agreement and the employee continues to incur incidental expenses. The provisions of this clause shall operate in order that incidental expenses which are covered by this allowance cannot also be claimed under Clause 22. - Travelling, Relieving and Special Duty.
RELIEVING ALLOWANCE. 42.1 A relieving allowance will be paid to a staff member for relieving in an existing position which is at a higher classification level, where the staff member performs the duties for a period of at least 5 consecutive working days.
42.2 The allowance will be an amount equal to the difference between the minimum salary of the higher classified position and the salary that the staff member is receiving in the position they substantively occupy, or a percentage of that amount if partial duties are performed. If the minimum salary for the higher classified position is equal to or less than the salary the staff member is receiving in the position they substantively occupy, the relieving or higher duties allowance will be calculated on the basis of the nearest higher salary step for the higher classified position.
42.3 Periods of relieving will attract payment at the allowance rate for periods of personal leave, annual leave and long service leave, provided that periods of such leave are reasonable and within the period of relieving.
RELIEVING ALLOWANCE. 48.1 An employee who is required to take up duty away from headquarters on relief duty or to perform special duty, and necessarily resides temporarily away from the employee's usual place of residence, shall be reimbursed reasonable expenses on the following basis:
(a) Where the employee is:
(i) supplied with accommodation and meals free of charge, or
(ii) accommodated at a Government institution, hostel or similar establishment and supplied with meals, reimbursement shall be in accordance with the rates prescribed in Column A, Items 1, 2 or 3 of Schedule 4. – Travelling, Transfer and Relieving Allowance.
(b) Where the employee is fully responsible for accommodation, meals and incidental expenses and hotel or motel accommodation is utilised:
(i) For the first 42 days after arrival at the new locality reimbursement shall be in accordance with the rates prescribed in Column A, Items 4 to 8 of Schedule 4. – Travelling, Transfer and Relieving Allowance.
(ii) For periods in excess of 42 days after arrival in the new locality reimbursement shall be in accordance with the rates prescribed in Column B, Items 4 to 8 of Schedule 4. – Travelling, Transfer and Relieving Allowance for employees with dependants or Column C, Items 4 to 8 of Schedule 4. – Travelling, Transfer and Relieving Allowance for employees without dependants: Provided that the period of reimbursement under this sub-clause shall not exceed forty-nine days without the approval of the employer.
(c) Where the employee is fully responsible for accommodation, meals and incidental expenses and other than hotel or motel accommodation is utilised reimbursement shall be in accordance with the rates prescribed in Column A, Items 9, 10 or 11 of Schedule
RELIEVING ALLOWANCE. (a) An Employee required to relieve another Employee and to live away from home is entitled to receive:
(i) an allowance to cover the cost of reasonable accommodation and the reasonable costs of cleaning items of uniform unless the Employer provides such accommodation including laundry facilities;
(ii) travelling allowance in accordance with clause 25.2 and (iii) an allowance to cover meal expenses as follows: $ Breakfast 18.36 Lunch 36.75 Dinner 53.13 TOTAL 110.24
(b) Employees returning home, for example during rostered breaks, will not normally be paid a meal allowance.
(c) Employees receiving a meal allowance under clause 25.1 do not receive a meal allowance under this clause
(d) Employees required to live away from home, other than during a period of training, are entitled to be paid an allowance of $29.86 per night.
