Selection of Trainees a) With the exception of jobs requiring trade certificates, millwrights, trades helpers, refrigeration operators and refrigeration mechanics, the applicant with the most seniority will receive the opportunity for training, provided that such applicant has the necessary physical ability and a satisfactory work record.
b) If a trainee demonstrates that he is unable to perform the job for which he is receiving training, he will be returned to his posted job.
c) An employee may not receive training in a particular job while actively involved in training for another job until he either completes the training or withdraws from the program.
d) When the Employer has a training opportunity for millwright, trades helper, refrigeration operator, and refrigeration mechanic, or jobs requiring trade certificates, the selection shall be made in accordance with Article 16.04.
e) The Employer may only accept one written application every six months from an employee for a training posting.
Selection of Trainees. A) RSDC of Michigan is an equal opportunity employer. Neither the Company nor the Union shall discriminate in any manner whatsoever against any person because of race, sex, color, religion, national origin, age, handicap status, veteran status, or union activity.
B) When the Company decides to add a trainee or trainees, the job will be posted. Applicants will complete the Maintenance Training Application. Applicants may be either current employees of the Company (internal applicants) or non-employees (external applicants).
C) Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED.
D) Applicable education and work experience will be considered along with attendance (a minimum of 6 points under the current attendance system), work record and work history for internal applicants. External applicants will be evaluated based on reference and educational checks. Successful applicants will participate in an assessment process including tests and interviews. Internal applicants who successfully complete the assessment process will be offered the position(s) prior to external applicants. If two or more internal applicants are considered to be equal by the Company, the applicant(s) will be offered the position in order of seniority.
E) The acceptance or rejection of applicants shall not be subject to review through the grievance procedure.
F) The applicants shall be given the opportunity to review this program before they are offered a trainee position.
G) Each trainee shall sign agreements with RSDC of Michigan agreeing to the terms of these standards.
H) All records of trainees will be maintained for at least five (5) years from the date the trainee completes or exits this training program.
Selection of Trainees. Selection of Fitter Welder 3's shall be by the Company. The selection may include the following factors and procedures, not necessarily in this sequence or order of importance:
a) Verification of work performance and duties performed during previous employment both within and outside the Company.
b) Satisfactory physical fitness, which may be verified by medical examination by the Company’s Health Services or its delegate, including: eyesight, agility, respiratory problems or illnesses, allergies to welding materials, etc.
c) Verification of education.
d) Good safety record, both personal and vehicle, must have demonstrated sustained safe work habits and adherence to safety regulations and practices; must be able to pass Company driving tests.
e) Practical tests and examinations in welding school or shops, which may include: an oxyacetylene welding test job, a test piece to xxxx out and prepare by working from a drawing, a test run on SMAW work after demonstration and instruction and other items related to a Fitter Welder's work.
f) Interview by a selection panel of two to five selectors.
g) Seniority shall not be a major consideration in the selection.
Selection of Trainees. Selection criteria for the trainees would be developed with the help of each organization The trainees will be selected on agreed criteria (poverty cum merit) through advertisement Eligible candidates can avail only one training List of successful applicants will be published on the program website and they will be informed individually

e) The Employer may only accept one written application every six (6) months from an employee for a training posting.
Selection of Trainees. The County agrees that all Trainees shall be selected by the Union Trainee Coordinator. Trainees referred to the County for hire shall be minimally qualified and improve the diversity of the Operating Engineers job category. The County reserves the right to use additional selection criteria to ensure Trainee candidates possess the necessary skills for the Trainee program.
Selection of Trainees. The Employer shall be responsible for the recruitment of Applicants for the Trainee Program. The Employer shall be responsible for the selection of applicants in conformity with their established selection procedures. Additionally, the Employer shall notify the Union when a Trainee is to be employed pursuant to the provisions of this Agreement; the Employer shall select all Applicants for employment in the Training Program.

Selection of Trainees. Management will determine, according to its assessment of need, the number of Trainees that will start the program. Applications will be recruited from mill employees and from outside the mill, if none in the mill qualify. To be eligible for consideration, an applicant must have Grade 12 diploma, and successfully pass the G.A.T.B. test. Management, after consultation with the Advisory Committee, will select suitable Trainees from the successful candidates. Preference will be given to those who have a College Diploma in Electrical. Once an employee enters an apprenticeship contract, it is expected that he will continue to fulfill the obligations of the contract including necessary training periods in a vocational school. It is agreed that when a Trainee has successfully attained his trade certification, he will, at the request of the company, remain employed with Tembec Kapuskasing in the trade for a minimum of four (4) years. In the event that the employee quits or transfers to another position outside of his trade, the employee agrees with surety that he will reimburse Tembec the training costs, excluding wages, if any, within the trade apprenticeship program. Reimbursement will be calculated on a regression basis at twenty-five percent (25%) per year over a four (4) year period from the date of quit or transfer.

Trainees hired will be indoctrinated three (3) months after their hire date. Applications will be recruited from mill employees and from outside the mill, if none in the mill qualify. It is agreed that when a Trainee has successfully attained his trade certification, he will, at the request of the company, remain employed with Rayonier A.M. Canada Enterprises Inc. (Kapuskasing Operations) in the appropriate trade for a minimum of four
