SHOP CONDITIONS. Section 3.01 The Employer agrees that all present employees covered by this Agreement except new employees during their probationary period shall, as a condition of employment, become and remain members of the Union in good standing. Section 3.02 All employees hired on and after the signing of this Agreement shall, as a condition of employment, become members of the Union as soon as their probationary period is completed, and maintain such membership in good standing for the duration of this Agreement. Section 3.03 The Employer agrees that when new employees are hired, they shall sign an Application for Membership in the Union, and also, a Union Dues and Initiation Fee Deduction form on the date of hire, such forms to be supplied by the Union. The Employer will forward this form to the Union at the same time as Union dues are remitted. Section 3.04 The Employer agrees to deduct regular monthly Union dues from the first pay due each eligible employee in each month and to remit the monies so deducted on or before the fifteenth day of the month. Eligible employees are those for whom the Union has supplied the Employer with dues deduction authorizations. The Employer further agrees, on receipt of proper authorization, to deduct the Union initiation fee in two (2) equal weekly instalments within thirty (30) calendar days immediately following the completion of an employee’s probationary period, and to remit such deductions to the Union. Section 3.05 The Employer will, at the time of making each remittance to the Union, specify the employees from whose pay such deductions were made, and if no deduction is made, specify the reason. The Secretary-Treasurer of the Union shall notify the Employer by letter upon the signing of this Agreement of the amount of monthly dues, and shall keep the Employer informed of any changes during the term of this Agreement. Section 3.06 If an employee is absent and has not sufficient pay to his credit his Union dues shall accumulate and shall be deducted upon his return to work. New employees shall be required to pay dues for the month in which their probationary period terminates provided the date of such termination is on or before the fifteenth (15th) day of the month. The Employer will not be required to dismiss or suspend employees from employment who have been expelled or suspended by the Union, unless such expulsion or suspension by the Union was for non-payment of Union initiation fees or monthly Union dues. SHOP CONDITIONS. A. It shall be a condition of employment that all employees of the Employer covered by this Agreement who are members of the Union in good standing on the execution date of this Agreement shall remain members in good stand­ ing and those who are not members on the exe­ cution date of this Agreement shall on the thirty-first (31st) day following the execution date of. this Agreement become and remain members in good standing in the Union. It shall also be a condition of employment that all employees covered by this Agreement and hired on or after its execution date shall on the thirty-first (31st) day following the begin­ ning of such employment become and remain members in good standing in the Union. The Employer may secure new employees from any source whatsoever. During the first thirty (30) days of employment, a new employee shall be on a trial basis and may be discharged at tne discretion of the Employer. B. The Employer agrees to first call the Union when hiring new help. However, if com* petent help cannot be supplied by the Union, In the judgment of the Employer, the Employ* er reserves the right to employ other help sub­ ject to Section A of this Article. C. The Employer shall, for the term of this Agreement, deduct initiation fees, as authorized, and shall deduct Union dues, from the first pay of each month of employees who are members of the Union and who individually and voluntarily certify in writing authorization for such deduc­ tions. The Employer shall promptly remit all sums deducted in this manner to the Secretary- Treasurer of Local No. 227.
SHOP CONDITIONS. The Company shall furnish good drinking water, and ice if necessary. Drinking fountains shall be maintained in a sanitary and serviceable condition. The Company shall keep pits, floors, lockers, toilets, washrooms and lunchrooms, in good repair and in a clean, dry and sanitary condition. Shops, locker rooms, washrooms and lunchrooms shall be lighted and heated in the best manner possible, consistent with the source of heat and light available at the point in question. Where parking lots are provided, they will be properly maintained.

SHOP CONDITIONS a) A new employee shall be on a trial basis. This trial period ‘tall be thirty-one (31) days for full-time employees and sixty (60) days for part-time employees. The Employer may discharge any new xxxx:ployee during said trial period for any reason whatsoever, and there shall be no right of appeal to the grievance and arbitration procedure by either the employee or the Union. However, after thirty- one (31) or sixty (60) days of employment the employee's seniority date shall revert back to the beginning date of his last employment.

SHOP CONDITIONS. Section 1. Time Cards - Each employee is assigned a numbered time clock card which is placed in the time card rack. Employees shall punch their cards in before starting to work and punch their cards out after stopping work. Employees given permission by their supervisor to leave the plant on other than Company business during working hours will punch out their time cards when leaving and punch in their time cards when returning. If an employee alters his time card or punches another employee's time card, he may be dismissed. Each employee will retain his time card between the time he punches in and punches out and will mark thereon in the spaces provided time worked on each assignment and/or by job number and/or by work code. Section 2. Work Station - Employees shall be at their jobs during regular working hours. Section 3. Absence and Tardiness - (a) Employees who cannot report for work at their regular scheduled hour are required to notify the superintendent's office immediately. The Company shall be given the employee's name, the reason he cannot report, and the estimated length of time he will be absent. (b) Any employee who fails to report for work for a period of over 48 hours (Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays excluded) without notifying the superintendent's office, shall be considered as having quit unless there was some valid compelling reason that it was impossible for him to make such notification. (c) Any employee with an excused absence of over 48 hours shall notify the superintendent's office on the day before he intends to return to work. (d) Employees who have been absent without permission shall not punch in their time card until they have obtained permission from the superintendent's office. Employees who are late to work shall punch their time cards, immediately notify the superintendent's office, and report to work. Section 4. Visitors - Visitors are not permitted on shop premises without a pass. Passes may be procured from the main office. Section 5. Telephone Calls - Personal telephone calls to or by employees during working hours will be permitted only in emergencies. Section 6. Personal Work - Personal work on Company property is not permitted.
