SUPERINTENDENTS' ADVISORY COUNCIL. A. The Superintendent's Advisory Council will consist only of the Superintendent, one (1) member of the Principal's Advisory Council elected from each building, and the CEA President. B. The one (1) member from each building will be elected by his/her respective Principal's Advisory Council members. C. The CEA President will be an ex-officio member. D. The Council will meet at least once each month from October through May.

UMW delegates the day-to-day administrative oversight of the Academy to the Superintendents' Advisory Council (hereinafter referred to as the "Council"), which shall be composed of the Division Superintendents of the member school divisions, or the Superintendents' duly appointed designees, as well as one Xxxx from one of the three colleges at UMW.
SUPERINTENDENTS' ADVISORY COUNCIL. A Superintendent's Advisory Council shall investigate areas recommended by the Board or the Association. This Council will be composed of ten (10) members: the Superintendent, the Association President, four (4) members designated by the Board, four (4) members designated by the Association. The Superintendent and Association President shall be ex officio members. A quorum shall consist of four (4) voting members - two (2) representing the Board and two (2) representing the Association.
SUPERINTENDENTS' ADVISORY COUNCIL. District recognizes that it’s most experienced certified personnel are a valuable resource capable of sharing insights with the administration for the betterment of the District as a whole. In recognition of these benefits, the District therefore establishes the Superintendent’s Advisory Council, a volunteer body charged with mentoring teachers, providing input to the Superintendent regarding school climate and other issues, as well as other advisory duties as necessary or as determined by the Council. The term of service on the Council is one (1) school year. Council members may serve up to three (3) terms of service, whether consecutive or nonconsecutive. Membership in the Council shall be limited to certified personnel who have completed thirty (30) years of certified service by the beginning of the term with ten (10) years of the thirty (30) being served at Newcastle Public Schools. Eligible certified personnel who wish to serve on the Council must submit an application to the administration office no later than June 30th of the school year before the term of service begins. In recognition of this service, Council members shall receive a stipend in the amount of $3,000.00 which shall be paid into a 403(b) Tax Sheltered Annuity Account on the member’s behalf57 by January 31st of the current school year58.

Managing, administering, and operating the Academy and its programs, including making personnel recommendations to the Regional School PROPOSED Board. 2. Purchasing supplies, and purchasing, selling, or disposing of equipment. 3. In conjunction with the Executive Director, preparing an annual program plan, budget, and plan for financing the operation of the Academy. The financing plan shall include an estimate of the amount of money that will be needed from each member school division during the following academic year to maintain and repair any building and/or facilities owned, maintained, leased, or used by the Regional School Board, and for the administration, instruction, and operation of its programs. The Council shall prepare budget estimates utilizing, as appropriate, the forms furnished by the Board of Education as provided in § 22.1-92 of the Code of Virginia. 4. Working closely with participating school divisions, governing bodies of the localities, the Virginia Board of Education and the Virginia Department of Education, and UMW through the college partnership. 5. Working closely with the Executive Director, to ensure that the curriculum complies with state laws and standards and to assist in selecting and providing instructional materials necessary to operate the Academy.
SUPERINTENDENTS' ADVISORY COUNCIL. 12:1 A joint Superintendent's Advisory Council will consist of the following positions: two members of the Board of Education; two administrators appointed by the Superintendent; one representative from each building appointed by the Association; and one ad hoc member appointed by the Association. The Council shall meet at least four (4) times a year and advise and consult the Board on matters regarding the effective operation of the school district. Council meetings are not intended to take the place of negotiations. 12:2 The Superintendent's Advisory Council shall establish its own rules of procedure. The Council shall appoint its own chairman. The Council shall meet by prepared agenda. The Council shall be empowered by majority vote to form subcommittees to study and render reports to the Council concerning the topics suggested in 12:1 above. 12:3 The primary function of the Superintendent’s Advisory Council is to recommend for Board consideration the establishment of policies and practices pertinent to the items suggested in 12:1 above. The Council, in preparing its recommendations for Board consideration shall, at all times, avail itself of the most up-to-date research pertinent to such recommendations. In addition, it shall provide for minority reports, if any, pertaining to its recommendations. 12:4 The Board shall reply to the recommendations of the Council setting forth in writing its reaction to such recommendations within a reasonable period of time, as indicated by the nature of the recommendations. 12:5 All reports and recommendations outlined above in 12:3 shall be in writing. 12:6 Meetings shall generally be held during evening hours, usually beginning at 7:30 P.M. 12:7 The Board, in order to establish this Council and to enable it to function adequately, agrees to budget $300 annually to provide for expenditures related to the work of the Council.
